Atlanta, Georgia LDS Temple Open House

April 9th-23rd the Atlanta, Georgia LDS Temple was open for public tours following its renovation and before its rededication for religious use. This was a wonderful opportunity for community members, family, and friends to tour this beautiful, sacred place. To me, it is the most special, sacred place on earth. It was incredibly special to take my parents and children through. I hope each person that went on a tour felt the joy and serenity of the temple!

Brendan, Hadley, MaMaw, and PaPaw all toured the temple together for the first time. This was a very tender moment for me!

After the tour we took advantage of the beautiful weather and shot some pictures!

Yay!  I can run now!

Yes, I am mischievious, and I know it.

The temple grounds are beautiful, and I suppose the flowers smell nice, too!

Hadley's "old man strut"

A picture I cherish!

Can you tell they were getting tired?

Hadley was wondering why he was still awake.

Hadley: MaMaw, can you find my bed?

Okay. I will smile, sortof.

He has the personality of a 16 year old.

Nevermind going home. We can just sleep here.

Hehehehe. I love it when I get my brother to do something silly like that.

Ah!  This is better!

Now we are on our second wind!

Come on, I'll help you up. Let's play!

Sports Class is FANTASTIC!

About a month ago, Brendan started a sports class at Hammond Park called "Mighty Mites". I had no idea what he would think of it, but he immediately LOVED it! He looks forward to it every week, and I suggest it to every kid out there. They get an introduction to nearly every sport: golf, basketball, football, baseball, gymnastics, soccer, and more!  His class is only for 3 year old kids, but there is another for those who are 2. Hadley is incredibly eager for his 2nd birthday arrive. He can hardly stand it when Brendan gets to go to the class without him, and it breaks my heart to have to tell him no!  Luckily, on this particular trip MaMaw and PaPaw were with us, and PaPaw took it upon himself to offer Hadley his own private class on the side!  Half-way through the class I had to leave to take a phone call, so unfortunately I only got pictures of the beginning and the end!

Warm-up Exercises

They use these balls for the parachute as well as for practicing baseball!

This is what they use to practice catching before moving to a mitt.

Here is Hadley's private class

If only PaPaw came every week...

B always looks forward to the bubbles at the end.

Then, everyone gets a stamp, even Hadley!

MaMaw and PaPaw's first trip to the Georgia Aquarium!

Brendan: Does no one else realize there is a shark behind us???

Hadley: Why is our mom still taking pictures? Was the shark not good enough for her?

The following pictures are so cool they don't look real, but they are!

I love taking this shot. You turn off your flash so you get all the fish with the silhouette of the people.
B: Pictures, pictures, pictures... always taking pictures
Had: I'm outta here!

B trying to show his sweet side
Had not sure what to think
MaMaw and PaPaw skeptical of what the boys might do next
I LOVE capturing things like this.

I pay for an aquarium pass just so I can see the wonder in my little boys' eyes. It helps me keep the wonder in my own.

PaPaw crawled through the tunnel to make this experience possible. I said it was too small of a space for me, so I sent my 64 year-old father. :-)

Had: What is THIS?
B: I think I like this
PaPaw: I'm so glad I get to be a kid again!

The new dolphin exhibit is now open!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is an albino alligator.  Would I make a better tour guide without the pacifier?

I think PaPaw's arms got tired during this trip!

Everybody touching the stingrays and sharks!

Captain Brendan with his #1 shipmate

Brendan: You take the wheel, Had. I will keep watch for Captain Hook.

Hadley's First Haircut

As tradition would have it, MaMaw (and PaPaw this time!)accompanied us for the "first haircut" experience. Both Brendan and Hadley had their first haircut at 21 months of age, and they both had that light blond, fine hair that was falling over the ears and creating "wings". I will be curious to see if Hadley's hair darkens and thickens like Brendan's has done! After watching his brother get many haircuts, Hadley was soooo excited to finally be the one in the hot seat. He was superb the entire time, and quite adorable too.  It sure doesn't hurt that Pigtails and Crew Cuts is a kid's paradise!  If you are looking for a fantastic place to go for a haircut, I highly suggest it!

Pre-haircut shot 1

Look how long it was!

Hey! This place is fun!  Can I get a haircut everyday?
Hold on tightly!  This pilot is ready for wild ride!

Ah (checking himself out in the mirror), good work!

Hmm, I never knew I had this much hair.

TA-DA!  I instantly look a year older!

Handsome Hadley

Yum!  Thanks for the lollipop!  I love haircuts!
