Happy 90th Birthday Uncle Richard!!!

My dad's dad, Walden (whom David is named after), his brother Richard turned 90 and we went to his birthday party last night. It was nice to get a pic of him holding David.Kacey spent the evening flirting with older men... :)
They were both surprisingly very well behaved and we stayed til 9ish. We had hosted a BIG Halloweeen party earlier in the day (post is coming!!) and Kacey had eaten nothing but sugar all day. Fortunately she had a 2 hour nap so I think that helped a lot.

Moms Club Halloween Party

Friday evening the Mom's club had a Halloween party at a local park. David slept through the whole thing pretty much but Kacey had a blast!!!

It was funny but after this pic was taken and the kids started to run off, Kacey continued to sit there. I actually had to go up to her and tell her she could get up!

I stole these pics from Kim!

Disney Halloween

On Friday we were invited to the Disney Employee Halloween party at Disney Studios (Thanks Dorothy!!!) Kacey loved going to Mickey's house and especially loved getting tattoos on her arms.

This pic cracks me up, it looks like one of those tabloid pics.

Kacey loves them firefighters!

For our Thursday class we went on a fieldtrip to a firestation. Kacey fell for a very handsome firefighter and when he got called away she asked me several times "Mommy, where did the man go?" There were several others but she didn't care, she wanted THAT man!

The trip was a lot of fun and Kacey surprised me by wanting to go up into a firetruck. She watched with fascination as one of them put on all the gear and especially the big boots! David was on my back the whole time and would get upset if I was turned in such a way that he couldn't see, so I stood sideways a lot. The firemen were really taken with David and kept talking to him and he would just beam and smile! He loved the attention!

Ella got to try out the fireman pole!!! The fireman with her is the one that Kacey had the crush on.

When it was all over we were all heading to a park across the street. I had to run to my car to put money in the meter (which turned into a big ordeal where I had to move my car to a lot because it would have required like 20 quarters just to park for an hour... yes I exaggerate but...anyways..) So I had left Kacey with Stacey since she was playing with Ella. They all got over to the park and Kacey flipped out about me not being there. I guess she didn't realize it until then. Her wonderful teacher scooped her up and they immediately went on a mission to find me. The teacher later told me that kids need something to do when they are scared. Just sitting at the park waiting for me would have made it worse but by "looking" for me she got distracted. So by the time I got to them Kacey had dry eyes and didn't even need me to hold her. She stayed attached to teacher Susan and sat on her lap for snack for the next 20 minutes or so.

Bonus video post

Mom was watching the kids and I heard hysterical laughter. When I went out to check it out I found this!

Alex and I went shopping with the kids and stopped into a shoestore. Alex grabbed my camera and got this video of Kacey and Taline demonstrating some wonderful teamwork.

Halloween at Parent Ed Class

On Monday we had David's class and he got to dress up in his costume.... DUMBO!!!

What a flirt!
Lorelei dressed up in a tutu her mommy won at the Harvest Hoedown.

The DUMBO costume was very warm so David only wore it out for 10 minutes or so. I then took it off and let him hang out in just his diaper. He had a disposable on which is pretty unusual and I think he really liked it! Check out this video where he is enjoying the freedom!

On Wednesday was Kacey's class and she got dressed up as a Butterfly Princess. She even let me curl her hair!

Taline was adorable as Little Bo Peep.
WOW, playing together with a nice distance between them.

So a bit of explaining for this picture. There is a rug/circle time in every class and a lot of kids go sit in front of the teacher. Kacey never has, she prefers to sit on my lap or right next to me. This week when the other kids were going up, I asked her if she wanted to. She ran over there and plopped down. She stayed there the whole time!!!! This is a big breakthrough for her, and for me! At the end of class, teacher Barbara did a real quick story and Kacey ran up and sat down without being prompted, she was the first one up!

The kids did a bit of trick or treating. They decorated bags and then sat in a circle and put the bags in front of them. The kids then took turns going around the room and putting a treat they brought from home in each bag. Kacey was super patient and fascinated by the whole thing. Here Kevin is giving her a treat.

Jamie tried to get Kacey to help pull out the inside of the pumpkin but she said it was too yucky. That's my girl!!!
She loved doing the cutting and couldn't wait for the eyeball to "pop" out!
