Like Mother Like Daughter

On my grandfather's desk was a picture of my mom and I. He had this picture on his desk as long as I can remember. When he passed away my grandmother gave me the picture and I love it so much. It's my absolute favorite childhood picture.

A couple of weeks ago we did a photo session so I could get pics of the kids and a Christmas card family picture. I brought the pic of my mom and I along and asked the photographer to try to get one like it of me and Kacey. It was difficult as Kacey was very much in daddy mode and 99% of the time I tried to get a pic with her she would start screaming and run away from me. Very frustrating!!! I am so excited that the photographer did get this one though and I think it turned out perfect!

Class time

David is getting a bit adventurous in our parent ed class. He left my lap and went straight up to the teacher to see up close what she was doing.
Kacey decided to join him...

Here he is trying to get the hang of dancing with the bells.

Just me and my scooter....

In case you were wondering how I am getting along....

This was taken yesterday in front of my doctor's office. I then went in and got the cast off!!!! I am now wearing a removable walking boot. I am allowed to take it off to shower (OH THANK GOD!!), sleep and on the couch when the kids are in bed to stretch it out. I will not be allowed to put weight on it for another month. So for now I just stretch and stretch and boy does it feel good!

Oh too cute!!!!

At Kacey's preschool, the teachers made them all costumes for the Halloween party. The girls were all Little Red Riding Hood. Kacey is fourth from the left and her best friend, Lilli, is on her right.

Teranga Ranch

One of the mom's from my MOMS Club runs Teranga Ranch. She rescues reptiles and finds them homes. In alot of cases she keeps them at her home. She is doing outreaches to schools to help educate kids about them. Today she was at a local festival so we took Kacey and David over there. She had two tortoises and Kacey got to pet them and even go in their cage. David just watched but was very mesmerized.

Descanso Gardens with Julia

My very good friend Julia came down to visit me and my ankle. It was wonderful!!!! She drove us over to Descanso Gardens and the kids just had a wonderful time. Kacey taught David how to make a wish in the fountain! She is a very good thrower. :)

We then went over to the children's maze. David loved the animal statues and got a big kick out of the maze. They both chased Julia all over it. Most of the time Davids looked so serious like he was trying to figure it out.

I was stuck in a wheelchair for Halloween so I didn't really get many pics but here is what I did get. :)

Kacey as Silvermist with Dashell the Shark
Silvermist, Peter Pan and mommy's pink cast
Why the wheelchair? We just thought it would be easier with the dark, cracks in the sidewalk etc. and it was.

Halloween and other stuff!

This ankle thing is really taking it out of me. Not taking very many pics these days and when I do they just sit in my camera. So here is the big dump, it seems like this is the only way I get posts up now. Sorry about that. Hope to get better with the posting. Both kids are cracking me up lately with little sayings and doings and I need to write more of them down.

One little note about Kacey though, yesterday getting ready for school, I reminded her to get her pink kitty and a unicorn. She normally takes them with her and props them up in her cubby so they can watch her during class. She said to me "I do not need them today." I asked if she was sure and she was. She then told Nana to hurry up! What a difference from a few weeks ago when she would sob when I left her!

Nana Rie took this picture when she and my mom took the kids on a field trip to a farm. I was so jealous I couldn't go and this picture made me more jealous! Such a beautiful pic!
AGH! My Halloween costume... I mean my creepy leg. The picture isn't that good but you get the idea. This was after only 4 weeks. I can only imagine the muscle loss after 8!
I caught David doing this and I asked him if he was being careful. "Noooooooo..."

A field trip for me! To the supermarket, fun times! The kids sure liked this cart.

We had Taline and family over for dinner and let the girls have their own table to eat at. They thought that was quite special!

At the Descanso Gardens hay maze. Kacey loved it while David didn't quite know what to think about it. Can you spot Kacey at the far end of the maze? She is in blue and yellow (Silvermist, Tinkerbell's friend). David is at the front of the picture in Peter Pan.

Flying like a fairy!

This would be such a great pic if it wasn't so blurry!!!!

At our parent ed class, Kacey has decided this is her favorite place on the playground. She likes to sit and watch all the kids around her.
David is entranced by the cars.

The kids went around with their moms to hand out treats. Kacey got to go around with Teacher Kelly, such a lucky girl!
Miss Kelly said Kacey was wonderful.
Not a very good pic but oh well.
Pumpkin carving with daddy!
