GG gave Kacey this adorable tutu for Chrsitmas. She loved wearing it to ballet class!!! She liked it so much she had to keep it on at Henry's house!! I did make her take it off when we walked to the Farmer's market. So glad, because she climbed all over this tree and the tutu would not have liked that. Last night we got rid of David's high chair and moved him to a booster seat at the big table. He was pretty excited about that!!!
One of my oldest friends just recently moved to 5 acresof land so she could get a horse for her daughter. I am sure there were other reasons but this is the only one that matters to Kacey. On Friday we got to go out and visit them and check it all out!!! David had a great time going down the hill as most of the property is on a hill. He would get to the bottom and then want to be carried back up. After the third time I had to throw him on my back in my carrier. My ankle just couldn't go up that hill anymore!!!!
The kids played in the house a bit with Michele's two youngest kids, Kolbe who is 8 and Kaylee who is 11. Kolbe was soooo great with David and chased him around, shared his legos and acted silly to keep David laughing. Kaylee was wonderful with Kacey and showed her all her horse toys and even gave her a special Barbie to take home!
The real fun for the kids was outside though.
David kept playing in one of the pens because he could open and shut the gate. Kolbe would pretend to be locked inside and David would laugh hysterically! Kacey got to help shovel manure. At first, she looked a bit bewildered. You want me to do what with the poop? But then she got the hang of it! Here is David trying to keep up with Kolbe.Whee! A tractor!!! Kiss, kiss! She was so happy and proud to get to help with the grooming! Posing with Kaylee in front of her horse Jamie. Kacey got a kick out of the horse being named after her daddy! Walking on down to ride! Watching the horses get warmed up. Kaylee and her friend Hannah. Hard to imagine they are the same age Michele and I were when we met! Kacey's turn! See the big smile that just won't quit!!! Can you see the smile? Pat, pat! Here we are with our kids. It would have been so hard 28 years ago (when we met) to have imagined a picture like this!!!! This is the better pic of Kacey. This is the better pic of David. Kacey was in heaven playing with Kaylee's horses!
Video of Kacey riding, she had a huge smile that never left her face!!!
Last weekend, when I had a day to myself, daddy took both kids to the Science Museum (wouldn't Uncle Dave and Aunt Kristie be proud!!) They both loved it and especially loved time with daddy. These are pics from his phone. There was also video of Kacey climbing the rock wall but I can't get the darn things to work on my computer! Argh!
David is diggin the fish in the aquarium area. He has noticed daddy has the phone out and of course wants it. So little.... yet so grown up looking! So strong! He can lift this truck!! with one hand!!! I'm not quite sure what this misty area was about.... but Kacey seemed to like it! Yeah McDonald's, don't judge, it's in the lobby and easier than packing the kids in the car to go somewhere else! David got to sit in a big chair the whole time and daddy said he did pretty good! This is what Kacey did at the end of the day. Jamie went to put David to bed and was gone about 5 minutes. He came back to this! Easy night for daddy!!!
This morning we woke up to hear David chatting away. A couple minutes later Kacey peeked her head in the door, saw it was dark and quiet and she left. I turned on the monitor to see her go back in her room, where she had already turned on the light, climb onto the rocking chair and chat away with David. After a few more minutes she came back in our room and came over to me asking me to get David up so she could make him breakfast. I told her to get him herself and change his diaper. She went back in there and tried her hardest to lift him out of the crib while he was yelling "UP! UP!" It was pretty funny.
She came back again and talked me into getting up, promising me that I just needed to lift David out of the crib and change his diaper and she would do the rest. So up I got.
After I got David up I followed her into the kitchen to watch her make breakfast "just in case she needed me."
She got her ladder and David started climbing on it too. She told him only big kids were allowed and asked me to distract him. She asked me to put on the tv for him and I asked her which show. "Chuggington, because he likes trains. That will distract him." So I did as I was told and yes, he was distracted. (Check out how long the train is he put together!)
She then pulled out 3 bowls and proceeded to pour milk into them. I told her that I put the cereal in first but she said she was in charge and she does the milk first. She then picked out some cereal and started pouring. She learned that cheerios pour out much faster than rice chex :)
She asked me to get David in his high chair and we all proceeded to eat breakfast. Unfortunately David said no to the cereal so I made him some oatmeal. Kacey was very bothered by this. "Mommy, why doesn't David want to eat what I made him?" "Well sometimes kids just don't eat what you make." "I guess I have to eat it then" she sighed and she proceeded to eat both bowls of cereal.
Yesterday Kacey and I had a lovely mommy-daughter day. We haven't been able to do that in a long time because of my ankle. (David and I got TONS of alone time on the couch while Kacey was at school though!) So I decided to take her to see Beauty and the Beast. I made sure to find one that wasn't 3D because I didn't know if she would wear the glasses the whole time. She was sooooo excited and made sure to bring Ariel and her cheetah with us because they had never been in a theatre before. :) She laughed at the funny parts and hid in my lap on the scary parts but enjoyed it thoroughly. We then went to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory which was ok. She just isn't into sitting in restaurants right now but she did try very hard. At one point, I just sat and stared at her and was amazed at how grown up she looked.
We hung out by the fountain and Kacey took some pics herself. A very nice passerby took this one. And I got this one. I also took these artsy-fartsy ones Can't forget about the cupcake! Kacey very much wanted a pink one with chocolate chips and they were nice enough to do that for her. We then went to H&M and bought her this dress. A very nice end to a wonderful day!
