After takeoff, Kacey promptly fell asleep....
while David planned his quick escape.
Nana Rie (yes, the one who came and nursed me back in the dark days of the broken ankle) and Babu were sooooo excited to see us. The kids were asleep when we arrived so the morning was like Christmas to them.
David spent a lot of time by the front door, playing with his new train from GG Hazel, waiting to go bye, bye. He is always wanting to be on the move.
The kids of course found a pup pup friend as soon as they could.
Kacey learned how to play Settlers of Catan and was quite good at it!
I think she hated the swing though.
One day we went to the Appalachian Trail.... I mean the Sarasota mountain range for a hike. Kacey was able to run up to the top.
The binoculars came in handy for watching Lions. Huh? There is a Lion reserve for the retired circus lions since Sarasota is home to the Ringling Brothers.
Walking along the ridgeline.
Sitting halfway down the mountain. I almost had to send a search and rescue team to get them as they were so far away.
JUNGLE GARDENS!!!! So much fun, Kacey LOVED it. She got to feed flamingos.
Help with a show. The man asked for a volunteer and her hand couldn't go up fast enough. She got to go hold a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach. She showed it to the audience as if she were Vanna White holding a diamond bracelet. When she was done, she gave a very nice bow.
She also got to hold a baby alligator.
and a skunk!
and a bird!
So did daddy. David was not so impressed.
and fell asleep.
Video of fun at Jungle Gardens. We spent a lot of time at the beach as you might expect. This picture makes me think Jamie is some sort of celebrity caught by the paparazzi.
I like this one of David. :)
Rare moment of the kids playing together, happily.
Babu is as happy as any grandpa can be!
LOVE THIS PIC!!!!
Lots of fun at the beach!!!!!We went to the Mote Marine Aquarium and got this pic before going in.
Manatee!
Kacey is almost as big as a baby manatee!
More beach time, this time Kacey is ready to go fishing.

A family day at the miniature golf course.
David liked having a big stick to swing around and spend most of the time walking around the greens.

They then got to try out air hockey in the arcade.
One afternoon we went to the harbor.
Kacey got to swing on a banyan tree.
and they all got to slide together.
The best part of the trip was seeing Great Grandma Hazel. I think that was her favorite part too!
When we went to her complex they were having a Mardi Gras party with a little trio band. David immediately took to dancing!!! All the people loved him! I had one lady come up and tell me that he was the best entertainment they had ever had!
David in all his glory with a bit of help from Kacey near the end. Then the trip came to an end similar to how it started.
