Lost little girl...

A few days ago, Jamie took David and Kacey to Kidspace on his own. They had a great time and then were on their way to the cafe. I believe Jamie was holding David and Kacey was right behind. He got to the cafe and Kacey was gone. It was just a split second.

He quickly looked in the immediate area and then began retracing steps. Again, no Kacey. After 2-3 minutes he talked to an employee and they put out an APB on their walkie talkies. He kept looking and finally saw her with a mommy. She was crying pretty bad and was very upset. She chastised Jamie for "losing track of her." Jamie started breathing again and all was well. The whole thing lasted about 4-5 minutes, but it scared him half to death.... Kacey too!!!

The mom told Jamie that she saw Kacey running around crying and she asked her what was wrong and Kacey said she was looking for her daddy. So the mom told her she would help and then Jamie came up.

When Jamie told me the story at home, we both praised Kacey for finding a mommy to help her. We also talked about how it was very good she did not leave Kidspace and how she should NEVER get into someone's car she doesn't know. We talked about if she ever got lost again to just stay where she is and not go looking for daddy. I think it sunk in a bit but let's hope we never have to have it happen again to find out!!!

Happy first day of spring!

My grandma made it very clear to me that the blog MUST CONTINUE! I will appreciate the time and effort when I am 85 years old and watching my grandchildren grow up. It was a much longer conversation but I have agreed to at least update once a month with some pics and write up, because I think 46 years from now I won't really care that I didn't update every day. So my posts will be geared towards the 85 year old me and include the highlights such as:

*David's big thing right now is to come up to you and scratch his fingers on you and say "Gachoo!!" I am pretty sure he is tickling you and saying Got you!! He especially likes it when you get him back. :)

* Grandma was over for dinner a few nights ago and offered David some broccoli. He said "GG, Tank Ew! Wecum!" He then ate the broccoli, pointed at the bowl and asked for more. I do believe that was his first 3 word sentence!

* Kacey is not with us. We were informed by someone who looks EXACTLY like her that she is in fact Silvermist (One of Tinkerbell's friends) Kacey apparently went to Florida to visit Nana Rie and Babu because she missed them and Silvermist came here so we wouldn't miss Kacey too much. We are enjoying Silvermist very much. I asked her yesterday when Kacey would be home and she said that she had left Florida and was on her way to Pixie Hollow to visit all the fairies and she would be home soon.

* David is back to waking up at 5am and waking up Kacey by his chattering. We are moving his bedtime to 7pm in the hopes that will move his wake up to 6am.

* David is saying a new word every few days. The most impressive is "Effant" He is very pleased by this one and gives a huge smile when he says it. Figure it out yet? It's elephant.

and a couple pics, here are both kids crowded into the fridge. David can now open it so we keep a drink for him on the bottom shelf that he can get anytime.
Both kids in the booth at The Dish.
Kacey playing her new favorite game with daddy. Hungry Hippos!
I am sad this one is blurry as David fell off right after this so I couldn't try for another picture. They were both laughing and having so much fun!!!
At David's gym class they set this up and all the kids flocked to it! Such a hit!!! David has the red shirt on.

Soo...

if I ended the guilt that is associated with not updating the blog enough by just writing an ending post and being done with it... who would actually miss it at this point?
