David is showing a stubborn streak.

I asked him to put his milk in the refrigerator and he kept refusing (he knows how and does it all the time) so I put him in time out. I told him he can be out when he puts the milk away. He keeps saying "David want out time out" when I respond with put the milk in the fridge he says "no, mommy put milk refrigerator. " it's been more than 10 minutes now....

Ok he finally declared "mommy, David done time out!" I asked if he was ready to put his milk away and he said yes. He got the milk and very slowly walked to the fridge with the biggest smile on his face. He put it away, gave me a big hug then ran to tell daddy he was out of time out. Yep, 20 or so minutes later!!

The kids both had their 6 month dentist check up yesterday. Kacey did great, she looks so forward to going. What a nut!!! Notice there are no pics of David as I needed both hands to restrain him.
Getting ready for X-Rays.
We went to Kacey's preschool to meet her new teachers as she is moving into the big 4 year old class. She found her name right away!!! She will now be a Busy Bee!
Kacey LOVES helping in the kitchen so I got her a kid safe knife from Pampered Chef and gave her a red bell pepper. She was so focused on cutting it up and did such a good job!!
She did pretty good stirring, only knocked stuff out of the pan twice.
Poor David didn't get a nap and actually fell asleep during craft/snack time around 4:30. When I woke him for dinner at 5:30 all he would say is "David want night night." So off to be he went and slept til 5am. Early but not if you consider he went to be at 4:30!
Ahhhhhh........
Kacey and I picked up daddy at the airport after he was gone 3 LONG months!!! On the way she insisted we stop and buy him welcome home flowers and a balloon. I let her pick the flowers and she got pink roses. :) Daddy was very happy and very surprised!!
$2 spent at the dollar store for butterfly foam cutouts and some glitter glue. This led to one hour of entertainment! Score!
Peek a boo!
Just random cuteness
Lunch with our favorites!!! Taline, Lorelei, Lilli and Olli!
One night Kacey insisted on going to bed at the same time as David. I watched them for an hour on the monitor before they finally went to sleep. In this shot of the monitor she is in the rocking chair reading him a story. The whole thing was very cute.
So proud that she put the alphabet in order!

Kacey considers herself the animal rescuer and will get them whenever she can. Here she found a baby lizard in our backyard. A couple days later, she actually found one that had it's tail caught in a web and couldn't get free. She finally got to rescue one for real!!!

Picking tomatoes at GG's house.
Ahhhh.... again!

Super big deal!

About a week ago Kacey started talking again about wanting to sleep in underwear and not a pullup at night. This has happened in the past and whenever I said she had to have a dry pullup in the morning for a few days, she lost interest. It was either underwear that night she was talking or nothing. So when she brought it up last week I didn't think much of it.

The next morning though she was very upset that her pullup was wet and didn't understand why. So I explained that it was ok and nothing to be sad about, just her body wasn't ready to wake up to go potty. The next night she actually got up 4-5 times to pee (she was very congested and sleeping very badly anyways) In the morning, I was in the living room with David and she was sleeping in a bit. I then heard her kind of scream and start crying. She finally told me that she knew she was dry all night and then when she woke up in the morning she just couldn't get to the potty fast enough and was so upset that she had peed in her pullup. I felt really bad for her because she so meant it this time and was really very upset. I tried to reassure her that it wasn't her fault, her body just wasn't ready and that was OK.

The next morning she rolled over and woke me up by screaming "MOMMY!!! MY PULLUP IS DRY!!!!!!" right in my ear (remember she is sleeping with me while Jamie is gone.) Her excitement and pride were really amazing to see. We called daddy right away and told him and she told several people that day. I had told her 3 nights of dry pull ups and she could wear underwear so she started counting.

The next morning, the same thing. After she went potty she came out with the pullup on her head. "It's ok mommy, there's no pee in it!!!"

This morning was the third dry pullup. I heard her get up at 5am and go potty and then she put herself back to bed and back to sleep! Big girl!!! So tonight she is in underwear and I don't think she could have been more excited. I really hope she is dry tomorrow, I think it would absolutely crush her if she had an accident.

Along similar lines, I also told her that if she wore underwear she would have to sleep in her own bed like a big girl. (Main reason being, she has waterproof mattress cover on her bed!!) So she did. She decided to go to bed with David... long story with that one, I'll try to post tomorrow. So the last 2 nights she did go to sleep without me and stayed in her own bed all night.

It's a whole new era in the Keeney house!!!

Soccer and Swimming

Today Kacey went to her very first soccer practice. She is with AYSO and we got a great coach!!! He said the under 5's do not have required practices but he likes to have them practice so the girls can get to know each other. I think this is a great idea!! So today we bought her cleats, shin guards, socks and a ball. Kacey was very pleased!!! She really wants her uniform but they don't get them for a few weeks.
So while David and Ollie played with cars and trains, Kacey and Lilli listened to the coach and learned to play soccer. I don't think I have seen anything more adorable!

She's pretty busy this week as she is also doing an 8 day intensive swim class. Kacey had taught herself to swim in her own way and she could get across the short length of the pool. We are doing the lessons so she can learn some actual strokes and I was hoping she would learn to swim the long length of the pool. Well today on the 4th class she did it!!! Unfortunately, my video started after she jumped off the board but you can still see her go across the pool. Side note, the last two days she had a 100-102 fever and today was finally fine. She still went to the swimming lessons with the fever!! Yeah, I'm a bad mom but the lessons are super expensive and they don't reschedule. :(
