I thought it appropriate to write my first blog about the first day of school 2011. It was also the first time Brent ever experienced the first day of school as a dad! He was just as excited as the kids. It was such fun! He didn't want to miss a thing...shopping for shoes and backpacks, meet the teacher, drop off, pick up.....he wanted a front seat to all of it. Thank you, God, for Brent! Cole is a third grader, I still don't know how that happened!! Notice the fake smile and clenched fists.....he is not happy about posing for a first day of school pic with his little sister in the front yard for ALL the world to see!

Miss Amanda is off to kindergarten......Look out! I bet you couldn't guess that her current favorite color is purple!

Whew! It's here! My kids are in school full time!

I wasn't expecting to feel this empty pit in my stomach. The last 5 years went by too quickly AND much too slowly. Many moms say it and I will too....Oh, how I wish I could go back and savor those days....PJs with feet, carrot stained cheeks, bloomers with ruffles!
Honestly, I wouldn't change a thing. Cole and Amanda's first years were not what I was expecting, but I got to see my God do some amazing things.
