And I'm not talking about me..I'm talking about Taylor. Let me explain...
Taylor LOVES eating new foods. It's the cutest thing...all I have to do is get some on a spoon and hold it in front of her mouth, and she opens up wide and DIVES on it. Adorable..I'm going to get on video one of these days. Anyway, if I don't have the next spoon ready as soon as she is, then she starts getting anxious and tries to dive forward and grab the bowl. She doesn't let us distract her with anything, we simply have to keep it coming until she is done...so like I said..she LOVES eating. Anyway, today as I was feeding her, American Idol was on in the background. No big deal right?? WRONG..she was so preoccupied with watching people sing, she actually stopped eating for a few minutes at a time. Then she'd take another bite, and then was completely absorbed back into the show. She is so quirky sometimes!
Maybe we have a future star living with us...

Babies are oblivious to Daylight Savings..
Yes, if you have babies, you know this. And unfortunately, if I had realized that it was today, I could've saved myself a little grief this morning..but instead, I did not know, and when Taylor woke up at 6:30 this morning (which is typical), I didn't realize it was really like 5:30 to her. So, instead of helping her fall back asleep for another hour or two, we got up with her. And how unfortunate that I didn't notice, because there was my chance to get her to sleep in a little later!! So instead of getting to change her schedule, she woke up earlier, and then, of course, went to bed later (since there was NO WAY she was going to let me put her to bed at what felt like 6:30 to her). And here I thought her sleeping schedule was on its way to normalicy...
Daylight Savings shouldn't apply to mommies with little babies.

First Babysitting..AHH!
So, we went on an afternoon date for the first time since Taylor's been born yesterday. I totally trust the gal we left her with, but I was so nervous Taylor would be upset about us leaving her with a stranger. And, of course, we watched a super intense movie about a girl being kidnapped, which did not help my nerves one bit!! So after doing my best to play it cool around Braden, we went to pick her up, and I was so excited to see her. I was SURE she'd be thrilled to see us. However, when we got there she was asleep, except then Braden let the door slam, and she was awake and upset from being woken up. Bummer...but here's the real heartbreaker..Once I got her calmed down, she gave us a couple smiles, AND THEN SHE REACHED FOR THE OTHER GIRL!! How sad for a mom's first babysitting trip..but at least it looks like she doesn't mind being babysat.
In other news..Taylor has now pretty much mastered sitting up, and is now done with that. Everytime she sits on my lap, she grabs my fingers and stands herself up..and if she can't do that, then she's diving forward and struggling as hard as she can to get moving around. Also, her snatching capabilities are becoming highly evolved. We can no longer eat around her, or hold anything around her, because if we have it within reach, she's trying to snatch it. As I'm typing right now, she's trying her best to help me. She's getting so active!! We love it!
Also, we've started feeding her solid foods...she LOVES bananas..not so hot on carrots, but we'll try again!
