Changes

What time is it you say? Yes, its like 4:30 in the morning. Why, you say? Well fortunately its not because Taylor is awake, she is sleeping soundly. (I know I know, so should I be)...but I am driving to Seattle. We left at 5:30, with plans to stay the night in a small town..but when we got there, we decided to go on all the way. I am driving with my mom and sister Syd to go to the "Shop Hop". My Aunt Val, who owns a quilting store up there participates in a festival every year where people hop on a bus and visit many quilting stores in the surrounding states collecting a square from each store they visit. And we are going to help this year! I started asking my mom about going back in like November, so I am just tickled pink to be going. I made a quilt top in the last few months, and will get to have it quilted while I am there on those fancy-shmancy machines! (I am also hoping to sew up one more top while I'm there..we shall see).

Anyway, how could I just up and leave like this? Well Braden has left me...temporarily, of course, to do an internship in Japan. He's been gone since June 11, and we miss him terribly!! Since he left, I have been staying at my mom's, which has been a relief. I tell ya what..being a single mom has got to be one of the hardest things EVER! I'm scared to death of how I'm going to survive once we get back and I'm alone for the month of July! But on the good side, I've been taking lots of videos of Taylor doing cute and everyday stuff for Braden. I'm sure when she grows up, she will love that!

Taylor is also a-changing, as always. She is crawling around everywhere, and I feel like I serve a better purpose as her jungle gym than her mother. Today, she experienced concrete for the first time. When she crawls, she kinda drags one foot behind her, which she decided after feeling concrete for the first time, must not be a good idea. So instead, she "crawled" on her hands and flat on her feet. Yes, how awkward! But it was so funny to watch! She is just a regular little chatter box with all sorts of sounds, and now has started laughing whenever she feels like it. It's so stinkin' cute! She LOVES to feed herself, and has just learned how to hold her own sippy cup AND get the water in her mouth. And she finally is gaining weight!! She's up to 17.5 pounds and so hopefully no more lectures on not feeding her enough. She gained like 1.5 pounds in the last 10 days..maybe she's hitting a growth spurt. She also is getting her 2 top front teeth. They're about half way through. Like I said..lots of changes!
