Long Work Days
Dad had to put in some late nights a few weeks ago at work, and that really took a toll on Taylor. She felt a little betrayed by him. One particular night as we went to pick him up, she decided she was mad at him for being so late, so on the way down she kept telling me "I don't love daddy anymore". For the next couple days, every time we had to pick him up, she kept telling me that, so I finally told her I didn't want to hear that anymore, and she should tell her dad and see how sad he would be. So as Braden got in the car, she called to him, "daddy, daddy, listen to me, listen to me!!" And then she proceeded to sing-song for him "I don't love daddy anymore!" So sad, no more late nights for dad!
Halloween Forgotten
On Halloween, I was unfortunately sick, so I didn't get any pictures of Taylor in her costume. She feel asleep after about 3 cars at the trunk or treat..
We had an angel costume, but she did not want to be an angel (go figure..), so I told her instead it was a fairy complete w/fairy wings, which she loved!! Dad got her in it, and as soon as she was set, she started jumping, saying "fly, fly!" She was under the impression that wings will make you fly...and was VERY upset that that is not how it works. She cried that she could not fly. Fortunately, she has an awesome daddy, who picked her up and helped her fly. So now she tells me, wings no fly, daddy helps me fly!

Always One Step Ahead..
And I don't mean me..Taylor is always the step ahead.
When she's having a fit, I often try distracting her with "Taylor, I have a question.." or "Taylor, wanna know a secret?" Not the most successful all the time, but worth a try. However, as usual, Taylor has outsmarted me. She knows this is just a ploy, and so the other day, she got upset, and she said to me.."No secrets, no questions mom".
Score again for Taylor!

Dinner Time
Taylor is getting really good at following 2-part instructions, so the other night, I sent her upstairs to tell Dad it was time for dinner. After awhile, I realized they were not coming, so I went up to find them. Braden was studying so I figured he'd just ignored the fact it was time for dinner, and so I asked why he didn't come down, "didn't Tay tell you it was time for dinner?"
"Oh, is that what she was coming to tell me? She got up here and said, "Daddy, I don't know!""
Maybe trips upstairs are a little too long to remember instructions...of course unless it was about candy, I'm sure she'd have remembered!
