"Whitty girl had crazy hair !!!!!"

So we went to Stephanie's house yesterday and I decided to do Whitney's hair in a single ponytail right on top of her head, like Alfalfa in Little Rascals. It was cute but kind of funny looking. Anyway, Stephanie and I were in the living room chatting and we noticed that it was getting way too quite for a house filled with kids. so we went looking for them. Stephanie found Joshua and Whitney in her bathroom and Joshua had a little piece of hair in his hand that he had cut from Whitney's head with some scissors that Larry had used that morning. When Stephanie found them she asked Joushua why he would do such a thing. He said "Whitty girl had crazy hair mommy." With that we both laughed, and just said how good it was that she found them before he cut that little ponytail off the top of her head. Well, after a while Joesph decided that he wanted to take a bath so I decided to get Whitney her bath for the night too. As I was getting her undressed I went to take out her ponytail and out came all the hair that was in it, except for a few strands that it was all hanging on by. It seems that Joshua did fix "Whitty's crazy hair" after all. Yes I am ok!!! boo hoo hoo!! I had a little cry over it :) I did wait a long time for it to get that long. But it will grow back, I will just have to get a little more creative. After the bath and hair fiasco they all went and played on the boys new bunk bed. They had a lot of fun. And Whitney didn't even notice her newly acquired bold spot :) Life is so fun.

State Champions!!!

Richfield Varsity Girls Basketball team is this years State Basketball Champions for our division. They all played very well and ended up beating Dietrich in the Idaho Center, in Boise. Which is funny because Dietrich is only about 15min away from Richfield, so we both had to travel 2 and a half hours to play each other.
I was really excited to see that Dietrich made it to the Championship game with us because I love the girls on that team, and they worked hard to get there. In the tournament they won two buzzer beater games, against Garden Valley and Carey (Who ended up in Third place). I also thought it was cool because my cousin Elli plays for Dietrich, and a lot of people in Richfield nicknamed her "Janet's TWIN". Which I think is a huge compliment because she is a little fireball, and she is so stinking cute too!!
Our Team was really fun to watch this year because all three of Coach Kent's girls are starters on the team and are fenominal player. Michelle the Senior, has been beating me up all year in practice because she drives to the basket with so much intensity that she is unstoppable. Not to mention she always would ram me right in to Mirium Rivis, who's screens feel like you are running right into a brick wall (a Boney brick wall). Tiny, his daughter who is a junior, handles the ball like it is just another part of her body and can shoot the lights out of the gym. In every one of their games up at State she scored over 20 points, and ended up winning the MVP award for the tournament. Shasha, his freshman, is very good for her age. I'm not surprised when she has two older sisters to play with all the time. She has a good shot and is a quick little thing on defense, she is everywhere. Lea was the other senior, and was the only one on the team taller that 5ft 7in, and she was a great rebounder for us. She was also a great comic relief. She always had something witty to say. I loved all of these girls, it was so fun to watch and get to know them and I am so proud of all of them for working so hard and getting that banner!! They really deserved it!!
Now I want to say that I think that Coach Kent is the greatest coach in the world. Not only did he give me a great experience to let me come in and be an assistant coach, but he put so much time and effort into training these girls to be ready for whatever they came up against. He really cares about the girls and he know the game better than anyone I have ever met.

This is a picture of Coach Kent's wife Belinda, oldest daughter Lacey and her kids, Whitney and I. These Women are angles to me. They made in possible for me to take Whitney to every game because they would watch her. I love them so much they are really what made it possible for me to be a part of this. And I have to mention that Lacey drove from Mountain home to all of the girls games this year.

This is a picture of Coach Kent and the Starters. Starting on the left is Tiny, then Sasha, Michelle, Coach Kent, Lea, and cute pie Mirium.
Coaches Paul Elston, Janet Marquez, and Steve Kent. Elston was so good, he kept the books at all the games and scouted a lot of the teams to prepare us for State.
Here is the whole team, JV and Varsity (I love my JV girls)!!
Front row:Janet, Denise, Blakely, and Shelby
Back Row:Heidi, Beanna, Tiny, Shasha, Michelle, Coach Kent, Lea, Mirium, Taunie, Kaylee.
This was a nice surprise! David my brother, Mollie my sister, Berny my man, and Candace my Buddie, all came to the game. The cool part is that Candace is on a mission in Boise right now and her mission President let her come to the game because he is a huge basketball fan. So I was pretty surprised to see her!!
This is a picture of the girls in uniform right after they won the game and got their banner!!
There it is the big enchilada. And it will be the second one that Coach Kent has gotten since he started coach in Richfield.
