Summer Trips

Summer is flying by as time does lately. We went to Washington, D.C., Sesame Street, and NYC to see my sister! It was so much fun! I had a conference in D.C. so while I worked, Zack and Bella got to see the city. After D.C., we drove to Philadelphia and took Bella to Sesame Street! She had the best time & continues to talk about it now! Then, we drove to NYC to see my sister. We love NYC & this time were able to go see the Statue of Liberty. It was so fun, but we were ready to be home!

They rode slides!

She did not like Ollie the Oriole.

Bella got to meet Elmo. She LOVED seeing him, but not so thrilled with him being so close!

Nan Jean

Zack's grandmother, Jean Wiley a.k.a. Nan Jean, passed away this week. It has been very hard to say goodbye to such a wonderful person.

I was fortunate enough to marry into the Wiley family. I was even more blessed because Nan Jean treated me, very early on, as her own grandchild. And I thought of her as my own grandmother. She never let much time go by without telling me how much she prayed for her sweet Zack to find a Christian spouse and that I was the answer to her prayer.

She was the only person I knew that always had a cake or cookies in her cake stand.

She had an infectious giggle that given the right circumstance would get a little out of control. It was Nan Jean’s daily example that I will miss most.

She had an incredible relationship with God. Every action she took and every word she spoke reflected that relationship. I never heard a harsh word come out of her mouth or saw her become angry…and if she ever became frustrated, it was with love and consideration that she conveyed her feelings.

I learned so much from how she lived. I am especially grateful for her relationship with Papa Wiley. It’s because of how Nan Jean and Papa Wiley loved each other that Zack and I understand how God intended marriage to be. They were married 53 years and were the best of friends. I am certain they are together now and for that, I am so happy because I know how much Nan Jean missed Papa Wiley.

Nan Jean, I love you, I will miss you, and I promise to be the wife for Zack that you prayed for, I will strive to be a mother like you, and I only pray I can leave behind a legacy like you have left for us.

Colorado

We went to CO this past weekend for a little bit of fun. I was able to spend time with a college friend & her daughter. Bella & I went and saw horses, played at the park, and got in a little bit of swimming. We had a great time. It was a fast and furious trip, but so nice to see a friend.

The Latest!!

It's been forever since I've posted so I'm not going to catch up on the last few months! :) Life just seems to get more and more hectic though when I really sit and think, I am not sure why?! Just the way it goes I guess...

Bella is just about 19 months. She's developed such a little personality & really is very much like my sister. She's got the same silly, hilarious and curious spark as her aunt Nessa. Just makes me laugh that they are so much alike...even down to the little defiant streak she gets every now and then.

(Pictures: Top is at Easter, the other two are just her being a ham!)

We are excited about the summer starting with our trip to watch LCU play in the World Series! Watching baseball is always fun, Idaho, not really so much, but it'll be relaxing!

It's been so long!

It's been way too long since I have written on this blog! Time sure flies by. As I am sure it is for everyone, life is just hectic. So, I'm not going to try to tell about everything, just kind of where we are now. :)

Christmas was great and snowy! I am so ready for winter to be over! I'm not a cold weather person at all. Bella got lots of fun toys & enjoyed opening presents...though she thought they were all for her. As you can see, she did not enjoy Santa! She likes everyone, I have no idea what it is about that red suit & beard!

Bella is growing every day, she's so fun! She loves books and babies. She is talking so much & we are amazed by how she learns so quickly. I just love it...she's wonderful! :)

Other than work, school, and Bella, we don't do much! Zack is working hard with his business and doing great. Work for me is about the same as usual. I started my FINAL semester of my Ph.D. program!! I cannot believe in just a few more months, I will be done with coursework for good! I have started the dissertation process and cannot wait to get started...yes, I guess I am an academic at heart...:) who knew!?

That's about all for us. Not a fan of Santa...:(

Such a mess...she loves mac & cheese!

My beautiful little angel....God is so good...I am so thankful for her.

My sister, Bella, and I....Bella loves her "Aunt Nessa"

Oh Baby!

Bella loves her babies....I've posted about this before...but she is now playing baby :). It's the most precious thing I've ever seen! She gets her diapers, feeds them, rocks them and today tried to put bows on them. :) She's so fun...more fun by the day! She LOVES books and when someone reads them to her.

We are so excited for Christmas and ready for the break!

Zack

Well, I don't usually do this on this blog, but I'm helping Zack with his semi-new business venture & just want to let you guys know about it.

Zack used to be in the supplement manufacturing business. For a number of reasons, he decided to stop & sold his business. Zack really loves helping people be better physically (workouts, diets, nutrition, etc.). His true passion is with teams, but has recently realized he does enjoy helping individuals train like they are athletes as well. He works as the strength coach for the LCU baseball team and also helps several area high schools with their strength programs.

Since he sold his business, he is in the very fortunate position to start this new venture of strength training and see if he can make it work. So, one aspect of this business is his women's class called PowerFIT. You can learn more about the class on the link to that blog. Zack is terrible at facebook & blogging, so I am taking this on for him. :)

Zack is talented in this area and I've known for several years that this is what he needed to do...it's just taken him several years to see I was right. (haha...just kidding). Anyway, if you are interested or know of someone looking for this type of workout regimine then pass his name along. :)

Thanks!
