Shuffle, toe, step...

This is the reason there are people out there with six boys, still trying to get their girl. Every mom needs a girl to get dressed up, put a bun in her hair, and take to her first dance lesson. I am so lucky to have my Kate Elayne. She was so excited to get dressed in her new dance clothes that she picked out with me and Grandma. I could have bought her the whole store after she modeled every leotard there.

For a girl that NEVER wants to get her hair done, she was all about putting her hair in a bun. A gallon of hairspray later, we had success!

I am so used to everything being such a big ordeal with Sean, I was pretty much expecting to have to stay in the room with Kate, or see a big lip, or watery eyes. Nope, she went in with the teacher and never looked back. She tried so hard to do everything right too. I am so glad I am going to have one easy kid.

Her first attempt at a plie (plee-ay). Looks like a squat to me Kate. We'll have to work on that. :)

Can't wait to tap those feet!

Shuffle step, shuffle step...

Well, I think it's safe to say that Wednesdays are officially my new favorite day. I cannot wait for recital time. I hope their costume is a giant tutu like the ones I wore when I was two!!

Time for Kindergarten!

It's hard to believe Sean is old enough for kindergarten. Of course it's also hard to believe he's only six years old. It seems like he's been with us forever. Anyway, the big day was finally here, and it was all smiles getting ready.

He was so excited to be taking his backpack FULL of school supplies. I don't remember having to stock the whole classroom when I went to school, but there was probably a bigger budget for kids back then. There was so much on his list that I had to take a grocery bag full of supplies that wouldn't fit in his bag.

I was a little worried when the little girl behind him started bawling. He doesn't do well with other kids crying. Luckily there were a few familiar faces from the neighborhood to distract him.

He was so happy to find his name on his table and put on his name tag.

We were waiting on the playground for school to get out. I could see a kid jumping up and down in the window. I knew it had to be my little jumper. I zoomed in with the camera to get this great shot. He could see us and couldn't wait for his teacher to open the door.

I love that he came out trying not to smile. He was so proud of himself and happy to show us his birthday crown. It must be nice to always be the first kids to get the birthday attention every year.

Kate was pretty proud of her big brother too!

The Wedding

After months of major preparation, the day was finally here for Jessica's wedding. Jess and Nick worked their fingers to the bone getting their yard ready and oh man was it ever ready. I've never seen such a pretty place to get hitched! We spent the morning decorating, then the afternoon doing a girls day at Lauren's salon. We all got our hair as curly as we could. Sean even got his washed and styled. I need to get pictures from Michelle, who is also the family historian. :)

Kate was the first to pose for photos by the pond.

Best friends.

Decked to the nines.

Grandma Primmer.

What a good lookin' group of cousins.

Waiting for the ceremony to start.

Bridesmaids

Sean pulled off being the ring bearer. Right before we all started walking down the aisle, he threw the pillow and said he wasn't going to do it. Then he ran around the house. I thought I was going to die. Thank goodness Jess was quick on her feet and promised him a shark shirt. He instantly changed moods and got in line. He's still asking when you're bringing him a shirt Jess. You'd better get on that.

Awww, I've never seen Nick look like this. His softer side was showing the second he saw Jess come out of the house. So sweet.

The skinniest man alive walking his baby down the aisle.

I look really happy, but I'm sure I'm telling Sean and Kate to sit down through my teeth.

Congrats from Grandma Primmer.

What the...please tell us there's not a storm coming...yep...here it comes...take cover!!!

Well and hour later and everything soaked to the bone, the sky cleared up and we were ready for some photos!

I LOVE this picture of the family. We are a good lookin' bunch if you ask me.

Loved the flowers and Jess's shoes. She definitely had a vision for this wedding. When she told us her colors were going to be ivory, black, silver, and red, I had a hard time picturing what it was going to look like. I have to say, the colors were so classy and looked awesome. She should be a wedding planner.

The Moffords. I think between the Mitchells, Barnhisels, Chapmans, and Moffords, we now have a complete set of crazy genes.

The doggies. They were so good the whole time. Poor things had to stand out in the rain and lightning until the storm blew over.

Cut that cake already. I think Kate begged me for a piece of cake for at least 3 hours.

Love you guys. If you can make it through planning that wedding, (and the bachelorette party), you should be just fine. Hehehe.

Sean is Six!

I can't believe my little boy is six! He is growing up so fast. He is starting to like big boy stuff like video games and sports. This is him opening his new Nintendo DS. I don't think he even knew what it was at first, but it immediately became his favorite thing to do. He calls it his "d-esk". I think he and Mario are becoming close friends.

Opening his new golf clubs. He has become quite good at golf and baseball. I think there are at least 50 balls at the neighbor's house, and we all have welts and bruises from taking turns pitching to him. You don't want to be anywhere near his reach when he's swinging something. Just ask Kate!

We went to the zoo on his birthday to "do something fun." That is his new catch phrase. Then when you are done doing the fun thing he wants to "do something even more fun." This was the last time we would be able to see the dinosaurs at the zoo.

I love that he still jumps up and down when he's excited. He's been doing this since he could stand, and it's just part of Sean. Here he is excited (and a little afraid) to see T-Rex.

For his birthday party, we rented out a room at Bouncin' off the Walls. It was so fun. Even the adults had a good time. The slide was the best.

Mama and Seaners.

Aunt Jess, Kate and Sean.

Aunt Amy and Kate.

Aunt Em, Sean, Kate, and Eric.

Sean opening his new Toy Story Wii game. I think that was his favorite present.

Our party was Cars themed. I think it was perfect for all the little boys.

What can I say about my Sean this year? He is so cute and funny and like no other kid I know. It is impossible for him to decide on anything without first consulting Kate. It doesn't matter if it's picking out clothes, playing games, which show to watch, or what to eat, he always asks Kate first. Let's just say this doesn't help out the behavior of Little Miss Bossy either. You would think she was his much older sister.

Speaking of clothes, Sean really has his own sense of style. Most little boys put on whatever their mom has clean. Not Sean. He picks out what shirts to buy, and then they have to be super long. I don't know why this started, but he now wears size 8-10 t-shirts so that when he puts them on they are almost as long as his shorts. Not only to they have to be big, they have to be perfectly steamed. Wrinkles are not allowed, and if the bottom of the shirt is rolling up, forget it! Now that kindergarten has started, I have to pick out his clothes the night before, steam them, and then hang them perfectly in his closet so that there is no stress in the morning.

I love that he won't give anyone else kisses, but still comes up to me at least a few times a day and kisses me. What a sweetheart. He's also the best snuggler around.

He is so good at everything he tries, I am always so impressed and proud. He just started piano and has picked it up so quickly, and really loves doing it. He is so sweet to other kids, I wish they were the same back. The other day he went up to my cousin's little one year old girl and put his arm around her and said, "hi sweetie" then he kissed her on the head. I don't know any other little boys that would do that.

I could go on for days about all the funny things this kid does. Happy birthday buddy! We love you so much!
