See ya later Kindergarten :(

I can't believe kindergarten is over already!  This is the first time I've really been sad about Sean growing up.  I was ready for preschool, and even ready for kindergarten, but I am terrified that he will be in school all day next year.  I don't know how either of us are going to make it.  The 2 classes put on the cutest program ever for Mother's day.  Sean did such a great job and has really come out of his shell with singing and dancing in front of people.   My favorite song he did was the "swim said the mommy fish, swim if you can, and they swam and they swam right over the dam" song.  I remember singing it in school too.  I really love this school he goes to.  It is just a good old fashioned neighborhood school like I went to.  There are so many new rules and regulations with everything these days, and I love that this school stays with traditional styles.  All the parents are so involved with everything, I feel like I know almost every kid's mom already.

They had a kindergarten talent show.  Sean was going to play the piano right up until the night of the show and then he decided he was going to dance to Michael Jackson.  We spent at least 3 hours getting a dance to Billie Jean ready.  When it was time for his turn he looked like he was going to throw up.  I knew he was really scared, and I didn't blame after seeing the large crowd.  He whispered he didn't want to do it, so we just showed everyone his awesome outfit.  Everyone loved it and gave him a huge round of applause.  He is such a stud.

The second to last day was the teddy bear picnic.  Sean wasn't feeling great, but he had been so excited about this day, I let him go anyway.  He packed his Papa smurf and Toy Story beach towel, and treats for his class.

When I went to pick him up he was so sad.  I was prepared for the adjustment to start school, but I never anticipated there would be such emotion that it was going to end.  He looked so sad, I decided we should go to the zoo and cheer him up.

Last day of school.

Mrs. Holeman.  Sean is in love with her.  She has been such a great teacher and has been so caring and sweet to him.  Sean brought home his writing folder that he had been working on the whole year.  I couldn't really decipher what was written since they just spell things how they sound to them, but I did pick out a "I lov Mis Holmin" so sweet.  There was also lots of "sharks" and "Mikul Jaksins" in there too.  :)

Thank you Pinterest for giving me all of my ideas this year.  I never realized how inadequate I was at everything until this stupid website showed me how much better everyone else is at everything.  Here is one that Sean gave to all of his friends for snacks.

This is what we gave Mrs. Holeman.   I really wish I would have taken pictures of everything I made this year.  I was the head room mother, author studies teacher, and volunteer for his class.  I planned 3 parties, made all the crafts and prizes, and did art projects with every author I taught.  I think I'm going to start a new blog called, "the shit I make for school."  I know it will be a hit.

See ya later kindergarten.  sniff sniff

Disney on Ice

This could not be more out of order.  Since I just finished up April posts, guess I'll go back to March.  About half of our family's b-days are in March.  We decided to have a monster party and the Chapmans and my Grandma Primmer made the trip to celebrate.  It was quite a day!  We started the morning by going to Disney's Toy Story on Ice.  The kids were in heaven.  Toy story is by far their favorite Disney movie and characters.  Apparently my Grandma Primmer really likes ice capades too.  Who knew?

Of course the grandmas bought everyone new toys before it began.  (It's a good thing too, because we don't have ANY Toy Story toys!  This is Sean's 5th Buzz Lightyear.)

This is Kate's 3rd Jesse.  :)

I was pretty impressed with this show.  They didn't leave anything out.  I think my favorite part was all the barbies though.  Sean loved when Zurg came out and shot his ion blaster directly at Sean.  We were so close you could even feel the heat from the flame!  Kate spent the entire time waving at every character that came by.  We were on the 4th row, so she really thought they were waving to her.

If that wasn't enough fun, I hired a magician to come to the b-day party that night.

He was an awesome magician with all the bells and whistles.  He even pulled a bunny out of his hat.

I like how all the tricks were for kids, but all the jokes were for adults.  Totally entertaining for all.

We blew out the candles to celebrate Jess, Grandma, Hattie, & Grace's birthdays.

What can I say except that I throw super cool parties!  Yee haw.  It is a little unusual to go to this much trouble for a party that doesn't even involve your own kid's birthday, but I figured they came all this way to celebrate with us, so I wanted to give them something special.

We finished out the week with a little Taylor Swift karaoke, trips to the zoo, lots of hot tubbing, and playing in Grandma's backyard.

You kids are SPOILED ROTTEN!!  If I had a dime for every time I heard that growing up.

Rewind

Who wants to blog about Easter in June?  I sure don't, but my type A personality won't allow me to just skip a holiday on the blog.  It's kind of like not doing your homework.  I never skipped an assignment my whole life...ever.  I may have rushed or done sloppy work a time or two, but was never unprepared to turn something in.  So, here's the Easter pictures to prove we had Easter this year.  I'm sure there were stories I should write about, but this will have to do.

Here are most of the cousins.  Every year my kids hardly get any eggs.  This year I filled 250 eggs hoping the odds were that my kids would at least get 10.  Nope I think they each got 4.  The rules are going to change next year...

At least Sean go the golden egg that he filled and hid himself.  I was a little worried someone would find it and I'd have to take it away from them.  There were enough gold eggs for everyone to find one, and a silver egg with $5 in it.

Ella "found" the silver egg.

Cute ladies.  Aunts Cindy, Lizzy, & Amy.

The happy hosts.

Kate had a little tea party with her babies after everyone FINALLY left.  Yes, we had stragglers there 5 hours after the party started.  I don't think I've ever stayed at a party for 5 hours.  Guess my parties are just so awesome that no one wants to leave. ;)

Easter Morning

The kids were pretty much over hunting for eggs.  They didn't even pick up any of the candy the Easter Bunny spent so much time hiding!  Kate got her "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" movie and a cute Belle doll.

I love her hair in the morning.  It is so crazy!

Back to bed for Kate.  She HATES getting up early.

Sean finally got the Papa Smurf he has been eyeing at the toy store.  He couldn't believe the Easter Bunny knew he wanted it.  He kept saying, "How did that Easter bunny know I like Papa?"  He has slept with him (and Clumsy) every night since Easter.

I usually have high hopes of getting cute pictures of us in Easter outfits, but of course Sean put up a fight and wouldn't even go to church.  Guess that cute pink tie I bought him will have to wait until next year.
