Hawaii!

I've been avoiding this post mostly because we have almost 600 pictures from this trip.  What can I say? It's Hawaii, obviously it was amazing.  Although it almost didn't happen due to my untimely kidney stone attack.  Luckily, with a little persistence, a kind doctor, and a momma that wouldn't take no for an answer, I was able to have surgery hours before we left.  There was no way I could tell the family we were going to miss it because of me.  I was getting on the plane if it killed me.  Kidney failure was absolutely an option, after all, that's why you have two, right?

We woke up bright and early to eat breakfast with all the Disney characters.  The Aulani hotel is the new Disney resort in Hawaii.  Perfect for kids!

Every day consisted of a dip in the pool, water slides, and playing in the ocean.

This is what our hotel looked like from the ocean.

And this is what the ocean looked like from our hotel room!  The pool in the middle is a man made snorkeling pool.  We got to take the kids swimming with thousands of Dori's and Nemo's.  Sean was laughing so hard he kept sucking water in his snorkel.

They had the best water slides.  One was completely dark all the way down.  Standing at the top of the slide, you could hear Sean laughing through the tunnel all the way to the water.  The people in line got a kick out of him every time.

I watched a lot of very large people come out of that hole, and let's just say no one's splash was bigger than Randy's.  He soaked the life guard every time.

Randy was pumped to get some Hawaiian shirts. Haha!

The lazy river was just steps outside our room!

Poor mama couldn't get in the water for 3 days.  I had to lay there with a magazine, and nice cold drink, and a percocet.  It may have been the most fabulous thing that has ever happened to me.

The first thing we did every day was figure out where all the characters would be for the day.  I think we hugged everyone at least a dozen times.

We tried to hit the beach just before sunset most nights.  Sometimes we made it and sometimes we just missed it!

The view from one of my "spots."

Sean would get hucked by Randy all day every day if he could.

The iphone camera really sucks in bad light.  I think this blurry photo is the only one we have of all of us.

I could see Donald from our balcony.  I asked the kids if they wanted to run down and see him.  Kate said yes, Sean said no.  I knew this was not going to end well.

On the way back to our room, I could see Sean looking down from the balcony with sad eyes.

Yep, one more trip to see Donald with both kids...

Oh and don't forget Stitch.  Who's Stitch?  We don't know, but we were excited to see him too.

We took a trip to the north shore for dinner.  This time we did  make the sunset!

You never know who's going to be in the pool with his water shoes.  Goofy put on a pretty good dance party.

We hit the character breakfast again because who doesn't like paying $120 for pancakes?

This time Goofy was hilarious.  He kept taking Kate's hat.  The kids were dying laughing so hard.

Since we had only seen Mickey and Minnie a dozen times, we stood in line for one more photo.

Kate wanted to buy matching dresses.  It was just a tad bit windy for photos!

This was by far the most fun we have ever had together as a family.  Great vacation.  I hope Kate remembers it...

Oh yeah, and if we didn't have enough photos, the hotel has professional photographers all over the property taking photos of your kids.  Here are a few good ones they took for us.
