Moving day is coming!

Well, the apartment living days are almost over! Our new house should be complete within the next two weeks, so it's time to pack up and move one last time!

Here are some recent pictures of the house:

And some pictures from just a few days ago...

Our apartment has been good to us, but we're ready to move into our new home. Just a few more weeks!

Susan G. Komen 3-Day

My Aunt Maggie was diagnosed with breast cancer the same week I found out I was pregnant with Rhett and she has spent the last year and a half battling and beating her cancer. To celebrate her and the other women in our families that have battled breast cancer, my sister-in-law and I decided to walk the Dallas Komen 3-day this year. It's a 60-mile walk that takes place over a long weekend and the proceeds go to help support breast cancer research.

Most people train for this event, but most people also don't have a work schedule like I have had, so our team ended up winging it. We walked without any training, which I really don't recommend, but we had a blast doing it!

Here are some pictures from the weekend:

Leaving camp early on Saturday morning...

Have you ever seen so much pink? :)

Our team, the Axyon Asphalt Angels...

Walking and walking. I think this was mile 45...

Our team in front of some ridiculous volkswagon bug...

The cheering section at the very end...

Closing ceremonies...

The women in pink are breast cancer survivors who walked the 3-day. I was so impressed with their spirit...

It was an amazing event, and Jenn and I have already signed up to walk next year. I still have 2 weeks left to hit my 2009 fundraising goal, so if you're interested, there's a link at the top right hand corner of my blog. I'm so close!! Thanks again to everyone that supported us during the walk. I can't wait to do it again next year!!!

Parker's birthday party

October is a busy month for birthdays in our family, and we had Parker's 4th birthday party the weekend after Rhett's. Because it was October 31st, they had a costume party and Rhett was so excited to wear his Halloween costume again (not really, but I was).

Our little elephant...

Watching his cousins play...

After about 10 minutes, I felt sorry for Rhett and let him take his costume off. Here he is playing with Parker's triceratops...

Rhett's fairy cousin, Jordan...

The boys lunch table. Hudson and Mason were Mario and Luigi, Parker was Batman, and Spiderman completed the party

A picture of the Lightning McQueen cake my mom made. Do you see a trend? Isn't that woman amazing?

Happy Birthday, Batman!

Rhett's Birthday party

OK, I know it has taken me forever to post Rhett's birthday pictures but I was lucky enough to have my favorite photographers there to take amazing pictures and I wanted to gather their pictures before uploading any to the blog. Chrissy, I figured out an easy way for you to send your pics, so remind me to explain it to you!

Anyways, we had Rhett's Cowboy-themed 1st birthday party at a nearby pumpkin patch, and it was a lot of fun! We wanted to have the party at a place big enough to hold our family and friends and after weeks of rainy weather, we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day for Rhett's party. This place had a petting zoo, a hayride, and lots of games for the kids.

Here are some pics of Rhett's guests:

Parker is in the barrel with Rhett, and Reid and Braden are behind them...

In the 3rd barrel, we have Rhett's cousins Hudson and Mason. Behind them, we have Ms. Elliott and Ms. Berkley (who was too busy checking out the scenery to look at the camera)

Here's a pic of the birthday boy after he managed to wedge himself under the seat on the ride. It was quite impressive, but he was ok once we offered him a hot dog

Donnie visiting with his grandparents...

Me visiting with my brother. This picture makes me smile :)

A boy and his cowboy hat...

The awesome cowboy boot cake my mom made for the group...

And the cake she made just for Rhett...

And some great shots my brother Chris got:

We had a wonderful time and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Thank you to everyone that could come out!
