Big blue eyes

Taken with my iPhone while we were out running errands. Doesn't he look thrilled?

Bumbo fun

Here's a short video of Rhett hanging out in his bumbo seat today. He's normally more talkative (I'll try to catch that on video, too) but he was about ready for his nap.

Please don't make fun of my baby voice :)

He is his mother's son

Rhett is normally a great sleeper. For whatever reason (growth spurt, not feeling well, etc) he has been waking up at 4:30am for the past week and does NOT want to go back to bed. He will lay in bed talking to himself for about 30 minutes, and then he'll get upset when you don't come and get him. It has been pretty tough on Mommy and Daddy since we don't go to bed at 8:15pm like he does!

Well, last night, he decided to roll over onto his tummy at some point, and he was out like a light until we woke him up at 6:45! He had slept a total of 10.5 hours and we finally had to wake him up so we wouldn't be late. I guess he's a tummy sleeper like his mom and just figured out how to roll into that position. We'll see if this trend continues, but I'm so glad to have my good sleeper back! :)

For Daddy and Grandpa

Here's what Rhett wore to school today. First camo outfit of many!

Weekend fun

Saturday, we watched our friends Angie and Chris' kids for awhile. Braden is about to turn 8 years old and Reid is almost exactly 1 year older than Rhett. Here are a few pics from the day:

Reid poking Rhett. Angie, he wanted to sit in that chair, I promise!Three good looking boys...
Donnie with the little guys...

Sunday, Rhett and I stopped by my parents house. Larry and his family stopped by as well, so we visited for a bit. Here's a picture of Rhett with his cousin Jordan, who is 4 months older than him...
Rhett can't quite sit up like Jordan, so I'm behind him helping. It won't be long, though!

4 month checkup

I took Rhett in for his 4-month checkup today, and the doctor gave him an A+! He was thrilled with how much Rhett has grown and said we can start trying cereal for one meal a day. Here are his latest stats:

Weight-15lbs 8 oz. (75th percentile for his age)
Height-25.8" (90th percentile for his age. Donnie thinks he gets this from my side of the family!)
Head-17" circumference (75th percentile)

Rhett took his shots like a champ and only cried until Mommy gave him a bottle, which he proceeded to suck down in record time. He's a comfort eater :)

We couldn't be happier with his progress.
Here's a picture I took while we were waiting for the pediatrician to come in:

What a difference a year makes

A year ago today, I got the call from the fertility clinic saying that I was 3 weeks pregnant! We had gone through a year of expensive fertility treatments, so to hear that was such wonderful news. At the time, there was a chance that we would have triplets, but we were blessed with just our one little guy. Looking back, I can't imagine bringing 3 newborns home from the hospital!

Here's some pics of our sweet little man from this morning. What a difference a year makes.

And in case you're wondering, he's not buckled all the way in. His straps are not normally that loose, but I had to stop and take some pictures while he was so smiley.

4 months old

Rhett turned 4 months old today! He has become such a good little sleeper. We can put him to bed at 8:00 now and he'll sleep until 6am. This extra sleep has done wonders for his mood in the evenings and we don't have to wake him up for daycare in the mornings anymore. Oh, and I can't complain about my extra sleep either. :)

Here are a few pics from his 4-month photo shoot. Such a happy baby!

And proof that he can't quite sit up on his own yet :)

Happy 4 months, Sunshine!

Family BBQ

My dad's cousin Joey came to town with his family, so we had a big family get-together at my parents' house on Sunday. Joey's family is from Boston, so we made sure to show them how Texas bbq is done. Here are some pics my brother Chris took of the kids.

Hudson pulling Parker on the sled (which is really a Sponge Bob boogy board)...

Parker pulling Hudson...
Larry pulling all 3 of the older boys. Larry, Chris, and Donnie got to trade off doing this all afternoon :)

The littlest cousin...

Jordan staring Chris down. She finally realized he wasn't her daddy and burst into tears.
The two smallest cousins playing together. It won't be long until they're terrorizing the older kids!

Parker enjoying his lunch...
My mom made Valentine cookies for each of the grandkids. Rhett's cookie was delicious :)

Hudson enjoying his...
We had a great time visiting with the Boston Conways!

President's Day

My office is closed on President's Day (I know, lucky me) so Rhett and I had a Mommy & Son day. We started the day with a 4am bottle. We think he's going through a growth spurt right now because he's ravenous all of the time but we see the light at the end of the tunnel! Luckily, he went back to bed and we both slept until 8:00.

After his next bottle and morning nap, we went and ran some errands. I took a picture of his outfit to show how different he looks from the last time he wore this outfit.

From today:

And from a month and a half ago:

It still fits Aunt Di, but barely!

After errands, we stopped by to see my parents-Rhett's Grammy and Granddaddy. My dad has the ability to make all 5 of his grandchildren smile and laugh harder than anyone else. Rhett is no exception. They are so cute together!

When we got home, Rhett got in another good nap before Daddy got home.
This was my favorite President's Day yet! :)

Donnie's Birthday

Donnie turned 31 last Sunday and his parents and grandparents were able to help us celebrate. We ate Dickey's barbeque and enjoyed Mamaw's amazing apple cake. Thanks again, Mamaw!

Here's a picture of Rhett with his great-grandfather Pop. Mamaw and Pop brought Rhett his first football and it was just the right size!

When Donnie was little, he made a neck pillow his "lovie". He called it Pile and slept with his leg thrown over it. When he got a little bigger, he asked his mom to put it away for his little boy. Well, Donnie's mom brought it during their vist, and if you can't tell, Rhett loves it as much as his dad did! It's easy for him to hold onto and he likes the feeling of the soft fabric. In this picture, Rhett is laying on a quilt that his aunt Debbie made for Donnie when he was a baby. This is such a special picture...

Relaxing with his great-grandmother Mamaw...

Cuddling and eating with his Gran...

Checking out his new outfit his grandpa gave him. It says "Chick Magnet" :)

And if you didn't notice, he's wearing a different outfit in almost every picture, because he spit up several times over the course of the day (and managed to get it on each person who held him). Sorry about that! His reflux has been much better this week.

Thanks again for coming to visit, guys! We really enjoyed the day.

Baby Cupid

Donnie and I ran some errands with Rhett this afternoon. When we got back, he kept looking up at us with the sweetest look

Right after these pictures, he started screaming for his bottle. I guess he was asking us for food, but we didn't figure that out fast enough :)

Roly poly

These days, Rhett really moves around in the crib while he sleeps. Donnie finds him facing the opposite direction most mornings. He also moves himself onto his side, so I'm sure he'll be rolling to his belly in no time. Here's a few pics from his marathon nap the other day...Here he is sleeping with his eyes open. Kinda creepy....

Thanks for the new pjs, Gran! Rhett said they're super comfy.

Comedy of Errors

Saturday morning, Rhett and I ran some errands and then stopped by my brother Larry's house to see Larry, Jenn, Parker, and Jordan. We had a nice time catching up, and I thought it would be a good idea to take some pictures of the kids since they change so quickly.

These aren't the best pictures ever, but I love the progression. It's difficult to get 3 kids under the age of 3 to sit still. See for yourself...

Had to get Rhett upright...

While I was holding Rhett, Parker and Jordan got away. Then, the dog got involved...

This was definitely the best one!

And we have spit up. Photo shoot is over :)

Here's some more pictures of Rhett and his beloved bouncer. They are the best of friends :)

3 Months old pic

Here is Rhett's 3-month picture. As I've mentioned before, we're taking a picture of him on the 22nd of each month so we can see how he grows in the first year.

Here's his 3-month pic...

Here's his 2-month picture that I never posted. If I'm being honest, it was really his 2.5 month picture :)

And here's a look back at his 1 month pic...

It's going so fast!
