Hey Family and other loved ones( I at first had family and loved ones, but I knew the dads would start trying to figure out why the family wasn't included as loved or which ones were included as loved ones and not just family, so I changed it to make sure that you all know you are dearly loved!) I know that you've been wondering if we've survived the first few weeks of married life, and the answer is definitely yes! We've been getting settled into our house, or maybe its been more of me taking over the house and messing up EVERY room that could possibly get messed up. None the less its been a fun journey so far. I thought I would do mostly pictures this time as they will tell the story so much better that I can. So
here's our life so far...
We just dropped all of our new gifts in the upstairs when we got here our first day

All my stuff from the apartment went downstairs in the spare bedroom
I don't have an after shot of this room, but we can now walk into it, and most of the things on this shot have found there new homes, or found their way to the garbage!
We got to celebrate Bryce's Birthday with gifts and a birthday supper
(note to my family, I didn't encourage the ribbon wearing, he did that on his own accord)

Last Saturday our big project was re-staining the back deck. Our goal was to be done at 6:00 PM and at 5:57 we were washing the brushes out! It was a beautiful day out that day, about 85 degrees and a wonderful breeze to keep it from getting to hot. So add some good tunes and getting a little loopy from the fumes it was a great day to be outside tackling a project together
Before...
Attacking the deck full force!
For those of you who have ever painted with me, you know that I can never stay clean while painting, even with the simplest project I'm covered with paint or dirt. This time I think I out did myself!

Its done!!!

We celebrated with pizza, smoothies, and an mini Alias marathon, prefect ending to a fun and tiring day!

So after a week and a half of unpacking and sorting and moving things around here is what the rooms are looking like...
This is the main guest room upstairs. We just picked out curtains and the painting/putting up decorations will be next. It will be so much fun to put the little touches into the rooms so it finally looks like a home. And yes I will be shortening the curtains to a decent length, but that is going to have to wait until my next trip home to get access to a sewing machine.

The second upstairs bedroom

Living room, we don't have to do too much with this room. Just add a coffee table and some decorations and we're good to go!

The kitchen has by far gotten the most attention so far. We've been trying to put everything in its new spot and rediscovering all our new toys Its been a frustrating challenge but its nice to feel at home here. Next step is to decide on what color to paint the wall, any suggestions?

My new "office" We don't have i
nternet currently and so I found if I sit by the back door using the dishwasher as a desk I can pick up a wireless signal most of the time. So this is where I am sitting typing this all up, just hoping that the signal doesn't go away and I lose this all.

Its been fun to look at the pictures with you to see that there has been progress in turning this house into the newest
Haugen home. I'll be sure to keep you updated on the events in our lives.
