So I know this is only 6 months behind, but my goal is to make a photo book from my blog and I only have to do one more post for last year's book. It's a long one too. Hopefully it makes me more motivated to keep this up so I have something for 2015's book.
Painting brings out Kaitlyn's concentration faces. I love when her tongue is out, its a sign she is my daughter.
Jeremy was sworn in to the California Bar Association. He is a real live lawyer! I didn't get a single good picture of Kaitlyn, but the official photographer followed her around the whole night.
Most times when it's too quiet, it's because Kaitlyn is reading. (I know that's not most kids). This time I caught her reading to her animals.
Puddles are just about the best thing in the world for a little girl to run in.
Grandma and Grandpa Gibb came to visit before Christmas and we had a blast going so many fun places. Here we are at Uvas Canyon playing in the river. Kaitlyn loved walking in the water with boots. She also loved swinging with Grandma and Grandpa.
Grandpa had no idea what he was getting into when he let Kaitlyn paint his fingernails. Kaitlyn was in heaven and was very careful. When she was done, Grandpa asked if it would just wipe off?
This was at the San Jose Children's museum. It was raining like crazy so everyone else stayed home and we had the place to ourselves.
That night, we built a gingerbread house from a kit that our neighbor, Laurie, gave Kaitlyn. The frosting was by far the best part.

She loved throwing the balls into the whirlpool. This was probably her favorite part of the museum and she didn't have to compete against any other kids.
We opened presents one night and Kaitlyn was focused. It's serious business to get all these presents opened. She loved everything and Grandma and Grandpa were very generous!
We also visited the Hiller Aviation Museum. Kaitlyn loved all the airplanes and we even saw planes that looked like Dusty Crophopper and El Chupacabra. She was pretty worn out by the end of this museum though.
One day we went to San Francisco and the Wharf. They had a huge Christmas tree! We also drove down Lombard street (the windiest road). All I think of every time is Herby the Love Bug.
Kaitlyn got 6 Mercy Watson chapter books which she loved instantly. I think she made Grandpa read her every single book before he left.
We went to the Messiah sing along at the Oakland Temple and loved it. Kaitlyn absolutely loved when they sang the choruses (the solos were a little boring). She payed attention for a very long time. She loves music!
Jeremy's parents had to leave and then we did a really fun activity that I want to do every year we are here. We went to a live Nativity that was so well done. It was raining so I didn't get pictures except Kaitlyn walking back to the car with the umbrella. It was such a great portrayal of Bethlehem and helped me get into the real Christmas spirit.
This is what face Kaitlyn makes if she can see herself taking the picture. Every time.
Taylan, Cormac, Anyssa and Kaitlyn reading together. These kids are so cute to Kaitlyn. Then we went to walk a neighborhood that decorates a lot every year.
We went to the largest Gingerbread house in SF. It was quite impressive and smelled delicious.
Kaitlyn's letter to Santa. I love the simple desires of little kids. She is constantly teaching me how to be better.
Although it's Christmas time, we still have beautiful weather. I will always want a white Christmas though.
We went to Utah for Christmas this year. Kaitlyn had so much fun with her cousins and the rest of the family. They got to make cookies and decorate them with Grandma. I think every picture of Kaitlyn has her eating frosting or grabbing handfuls of sprinkles. Grandma is so nice!
Reading Christmas stories on Christmas Eve.
All the girls got pajamas to open on Christmas Eve, and the skirt was definitely a hit. (6 months later she still has to wear it every night).
Christmas Morning 2014! Kaitlyn was a bit groggy, but soon picked it up. She got her very own skis for Christmas!
She had to wear her Elsa dress as soon as she saw it.
We got to talk to Elder Patrick Brower in Texas on his LDS mission. Kevin, Mal, and Beck were also missing because they were in Hawaii.
Testing out her new skis and boots.
We built a little ramp outside to ski on, she didn't last long, but we had fun making a snowman too. We had a white Christmas!
The Elsas.
We took all the girls up to Snowbird's Chickadee lift. It was snowing hard the whole time and was really crowded in line. They all did really well until they got too cold. Then we had lots of meltdowns. It was worth it though!
On a different day, we took the girls to Solitude and Kaitlyn loved skiing fast with Jeremy and I. It was a beautiful day and we also had borrowed some real snow pants from Shalane. That helped keep Kaitlyn warm a lot better. By the end of the trip, Kaitlyn was just balancing on my hands instead of me holding her around the middle. My back hurt a lot, but it was so cute to see Kaitlyn loving something I love so much.
Alta and Ellie decided to sleep in a box when they slept over, so of course they all played in it as much as possible.

We got Alta and Ellie a cotton candy machine and had to test it out. Mmmm.

We went to a BYU Basketball game. Alta was so cute putting her arm around Kaitlyn. Ellie thought it was far too loud the entire time.
Mal, Kevin, and Beck got back from Hawaii so I have 2 pictures of him. He loved screaming with the girls. They all thought it was hilarious!
Jeremy and I went on a hike up Bells Canyon and it was absolutely beautiful with the fresh snow.
Jeremy and I took the girls sledding and they had so much fun! We couldn't find sleds, so we improvised with a boogie board and a laundry basket.
Since Alta's parents weren't there, she got pretty mad when we made her keep her coat on. We had witnessed what happens when she gets too cold a few days earlier and didn't want it to happen again. She sulked for a while and buried herself in the snow to cool off. Then when we got home she went outside in a t-shirt just to prove her point. Sorry Alta.
Drinking hot chocolate on the counter top.
This was the annual dinner with the adults. This year was at Deer Valley's seafood buffet. It was delicious!
Kaitlyn did so well skiing and was putting all her weight on her skis by the end. She was just balancing on me. Alta and Ellie got her excited and they are such cute cousins together!
We had a great idea to go to the Draper Aquarium, but so did everyone else. It was packed, but still fun.
