One Man's Trash....Another Man's Treasure.

for those of you who know my husband well...then you know his aptitude for finding the greatest stuff FOR FREE!!:) as i look around my house, i am amazed by just how many items we own that he basically found on the curb on trash day (all sterilized, i promise).
he has an eagle eye for finding true treasures amongst the trash. here are just a few of the afore mentioned items:

baby crib, free (baby was not included:)
once painted, good as new!:)
this served a good life as our patio table umbrella. it was found in our neighbor's trash...permission granted by him for us to take. who knew it would eventually double as a tent??
free highchair...good as new!
swiped this one from our neighbor's a few doors down, was in their trash as they prepared to move. ben sanded, painted...and wallah!! my new kitchen hutch:)
curbside trash at it's best...two great playroom chairs.
and a dresser (another side of the road, discarded item) for ben david's room. red paint does wonders:)
thanks honey for the great stuff and your diligent efforts to find it!! the morale of the story...if you see a grey car stealthily driving around your neighborhood the night before trash day...it is probably my husband. our thanks in advance if your trash also ends up furnishing our home!:)

The Wright Family

so...here we are, one marriage and two kids later and finally creating our own blogspot! :) as they say on the commercial..."life comes at you fast!" and that it does. ben david is now almost two and james six months and to all of you out there wondering...no, there are currently no more on the way! soon enough, but not now. currently, we are enjoying our fast paced life filled with diaper changes, naps, more diaper changes, trying new foods, rejecting old foods, throwing non -trash items in the trash can, spitting up, refusing naps....and a few more diaper changes. with the help of our wonderful grandparents we are surviving and enjoying this phase of life with little ones. so stayed tunes for more details on how we do life...the "wright" way!:)
