we spent a wonderful memorial day weekend down at holden beach with marmie and poppie!! it started off with a wonderful 24 hours of kid-free time for ben and i as marmie and poppie graciously took all 3 (yes..all 3!!) kiddos down to the beach a day ahead. we met up with the gang on friday and had a blast hanging out on the beach, playing in the tide pools and big holes daddy dug!! their was kite flying, minature golf, ice cream, boat rides...all in all a super fun time!!

here are a few pics...sadly, i have only one shot to post of ben david!! he wasn't feeling great for the second half of our trip, so did not make many of the beach pics:(

the boys have been wanting to do a lemonade stand for a very long time! a few weekends ago we decided it was the perfect opportunity!!

we took turns advertising with our sign
10 cents for each...a glass of lemonade or a cookie

while i was making breakfast the other morning, i suddenly noticed how blissfully quiet it was, and had been for about 10 min. suspicious...i stepped outside to find this scene...

a few weekends ago we took the kids to "beachfest" in matthews! we did this last year and had a blast...never crowded...lot so fun rides and games...we had a great time! ben david chose the helicopter ride, j man did the slide (w/ daddy), both boys got to ride the in the giant strawberry and little miss c just took it all in;)
throwing balls in the bucket...tried to win a goldfish..no luck this year!

and she enjoyed every last bite;)
ice cream all around...

we'll be back next year for sure!:)

james: "mommy...are we going to buy that house? (as we drove by one we had considered recently)

me: "no james, i think jesus wanted someone else to have that house."

james: "well...how will we find another one?"
me: "jesus will show us the right one."

(pause)

james (with confidence): "mommy, i think jesus will come down, stand on the ground, and tell us which one it is."

me: "james...that would be great!!!!!" :)

childlike faith...there is a lot to be learned here...
