Where do I begin?

Aagghhh! It's been too long my friends, too long. And there's way too many pictures, stories, boring (but cute to me) happenings to post about. The kids are back in school, this is our first friday night of the school year, it's raining (but suprisingly warm) outside and I'm sitting all cozy in my house with Lily and Arick. Taylor and Travis are at a football game tonight which I'm sure will be their friday night activity for the next few months. I, on the other hand have just made some rice pudding, lit some candles and put on my sweats. This, hopefully, will be my friday night activity for the next few months! Maybe I'll even start making posts every friday night--it's a nice thought, but I'm definitely not promising anything! Since I was a completely lame mom this week and did not take any pictures of my kids on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd day of school, here are some pics I thought were good (but not taken within the last 3 weeks-sorry).
Oops. I lied. this one I took this morning. Now that Taylor and Lily are in school, Arick and I stay in our pajamas all day and eat cookies, chips and ice cream. Either that or we go to the movies and then to Arick's favorite toy store where he get's to pick out whatever he wants. (At least this is what we tell Taylor and Lily).
This was taken at Cour D'lene, (I forget the name of the resturaunt), but they had the biggest sundaes ever! Our whole family got stuffed on just one.....which is saying alot.

Two buddies. I love this picture. I found these two in Lily's bed reading books. (notice the bowl of cereal, crumby sheets-yuck). Lily is a very good older sister. Someday I'm sure Arick will appreciate it.

Las Vegas in March--love it! It's always so warm and sunny when we visit our "desert cousins"! We went to the LDS temple there and took some pictures, this one I thought was sort of cute. Travis with his mini-me.

Mia, Benji and Arick in the 4th of July parade. They were thrilled. It was about 100 degrees and they were actually really good sports since we made them sit and get pulled around in that hot, plastic wagon while we waited and walked, and walked some more and then wanted them to smile for a picture--yeah right! Arick's cheeks are so red....and I love the bug antennas coming out of Benji's helmet!

There are soo many good memories of this summer. It honestly was one of the best summers I can remember. Thanks to everyone that visited and let us visit them and to all of our friends and family.....we love you!

Pictures of this weekend

Here's some pictures of my kids playing this weekend. Our ward had a service project earlier that day, we painted our local high school football stands. It was with 2 other wards and they got a lot done! I brought gardening tools and hit the flower beds with Arick. He mostly hunted worms and bugs but he had a good time and that's the important part. When we got home the kids ran wild in the yard for a few hours--Taylor had to take off his shirt because it was so hot (I think we might have cracked 70 degrees!) As you can see my kids like catching things, Arick played with this poor snake the rest of the day. I had to get a picture of Lily holding a snake because as an 8 year old girl I never would have come close to a snake, let alone wanted to hold it!
This is Arick acting like a frog.

Henry The Doodle

After much pleading, begging and groveling we got a dog for Taylor's 11th Birthday. He is a labradoodle and is 5 months old. I had to drive up to Bellingham to get him ( I kidnapped my mom and made her drive with me. It's about 3 hours one way, it's up by the Canadian border. I made her call my dad in the car on the way there and tell him she wasn't going to be home for dinner!) I got home late after the kids had already gone to bed. (2 minutes after we got home he pooped on my carpet--not such a great start) So, in the morning....Suprise! Lily slept through it but the boys were so excited--it was really cute.

So, after having him for a few weeks-we still love it. He's almost completely house-trained and he loves to cuddle. He's an extremely mellow puppy--which is perfect for me. (Although he does like to chase the chickens) He puts up with Arick's constant hands on love as you can see from the picture.

Better late than never

Ok, so I'm a little late posting these pics of Mikey at the state wrestling tournament. But that certainly doesn't mean my whole family wasn't proud of all of his work and effort that paid off! He came in 6th overall in his weight division, and finished the match with a dislocated shoulder. (Adrenaline will get you through anything). I have to say every time I watch Mikey wrestle it reminds me of when Scott and him would wrestle and even though Scott was obviously bigger, Mikey would never give up and say "Uncle". This would completely frustrate Scott and make my mom crazy because Mikey would rather lay there and cry than to give up. I also remember all of the times Mikey would ambush Travis and jump on him (this actually still happens so it's very fresh in my memory) and while they wrestle around I yell "Don't hurt Travis!" or "Don't break my furniture!" I guess all the practising at home really paid off. Thanks for all of the fun memories Mikey, I never thought I would enjoy watching wrestling but I guess I do. Well, at least I appreciate it a lot more. Your awsome Mike, we love you.

These are some pictures of the kids and I at the wrestling tournament in between matches. It was actually gorgeous weather and we had a lot of fun. The tournament was in the Tacoma Dome so we went to a park on the waterfront and played and walked around until Mikey's next match. We also came well prepared with PSP's and coloring books and crayons.

tag your it!

This one is so simple, Brooke thought even I could handle it.

Rules

1. Go to document/my pictures site on your computer
2. Go to your sixth file
3. Go to your sixth picture
4. Blog about it
5. Tag 6 people

Unfortunately for Taylor I'm not the best at deleting photos off of my camera before I download them onto the computer. This shot was taken on a Saturday morning about 1 1/2 years ago, he was still waking up. two things I noticed in this picture was 1. I'm not sure why there seems to be dirt on the side of his face....and 2. I'm glad to see his braces are working, his two front teeth are now minus the space in between them. I love you Taylor!

I tag: Jennie, Tara, Angie, Stephanie, Kari, Lorri

P.S. I just promised Travis this is the last of humiliating pictures of our family. (Unless I find them extremely funny-since this is for my entertainment)

A Sunday funny

Here's something that made me laugh today; I'm getting Arick dressed for church and I'm putting his sweater on and just as I finished he looks at me and says "I just turned into Mr. Rogers!" I would never have thought my kids would be talking about Mr. Rogers.

Oh what a difference a year can make!

Its been a year since Travis went in for his Mini-gastric bypass surgery. Lot's of people have asked for before and after pictures....that's not so easy because I'm horrible at taking pictures, so here is one taken about 2 months before the surgery.

And here he is today....ta daaa! He feels great. Sleeps better, has more energy, his feet and back don't hurt as much, he just feels better anyway you look at it. We're so happy with the results and look at it as a huge blessing in our lives.
