Cousin Ariana

Our cousin Ariana, age 7, has been up from St. George. Kenya and her love to play together despite the age gap and she is a big help with Brigham. We love to play on the swings, make play dough, run through sprinklers, color pictures (Kenya scribbles then we have to stop because she starts eating the crayons), and make pizza.

Some pictures of our adventures:

We made pizza last time she was over...it took us 3 hours. You gotta mix the pizza crust dough and knead it and let it rise. Then you gotta shred cheese and cut olives and cook bacon. Then you gotta spin the dough and smash it and pull it and roll it and eat it. Then you gotta put the toppings on and cook it and check on its progress...by the time our pizza was done Ariana had to leave so she didn't get to eat the fruit of her labors. But in all honesty even though it tasted great, it was much more fun making than it was eating.

We love Ariana! We love Brigham and his double chin!

The Wonderful World of Cousins

So Garn and Julie are finally in town. I have anticipated this for a while now. I just couldn't wait to see Kenya with all of the cousins because I knew that they would have so much fun together. Indeed, they have lots of fun together. There has been lots of fun on Grandma and Grandpa's slippery slide etc. My favorite moments are when they interact because each of their little personalities come out, like the time they played ring-around-the-rosies. It will be great to see these kids grow up together...too bad we only get to see Garn and Julie and Company a few times a year.
Kenya on the slide last year.
And this year! I think she appreciated the slide more this year.

Brigham enjoys the show in the comfort of Grandma's arms.
Brigham is Mr. Smiles. This is the best that I have, but it doesn't do justice to what this kid can really pull out.

Another advantage to having everyone here is that Grandpa doesn't hold back on the ice cream (like he ever holds back).

For Shelley

See you knew that I could do it! She didn't even pull them out until naptime. (My sister-in-law Shelley is really good at doing her little girl's hair. I am amazed at how well she can get the pigtails to stay in. And she makes these adorable bows to put in their hair. Sometimes I try pigtails, but come no where near her skill level. A sample of her work below.)
