For the past two alternate Sundays, I would carry Sarabelle my niece and stand at my house gate. That's because there is this particular feline with a red collar who has taken a habit of climbing a xmas tree right outside my house.
I think she learnt this habit because she used to be chased after by horny tom cats n she would climb up the tree. I dunno why the tommys nv did climb up after her. Maybe they got too fat or something. But now Tommys have all disappeared and she would make her daily climb on her favourite spot in the xmas tree, clean herself, readjust her backside and sit there till past midnite. So cute really.
Close up

An idea of how high up she is

So last Saturday, I had an awesome time doing my exam because it took me less than an hr n a half to complete the 3 hr paper. It has nv happened before in my life.
After our exams, Anais and I embarked on a thrift shopping pilgrimage to two Salvation Armies. We braved the scorching sun and went to the one at Bukit Merah and another near the KTM railway along Upper Bukit Timah Road. We chilled and ate some yummy malay, indian food and french toast then demolished the evening with a good eye shopping exercise at Far East. dinner at Food Republic and orgasmic Azabu Sabo ice cream. And we spent less than 25 bucks the whole day. Trigger happy me.
On the bridge in front of Praisehaven.

The shopping area looks like the 80's vintage museum haha

So many paintings discarded. You wonder why ppl buy them in the first place

And again

Fields of Beauty

and Glory

Young feet on old ground

There is always VICTORY in LOVE

Beauty sprang forth in greenery

UNdefying gravity moment

Busted as We Praise the Lord

We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun

If there's one thing I learnt about this friendship with dear Anais is that spontaneity, self confidence, heart-to-hearts and unabashed passion can make every outing like a sweet honeyed holiday.
For more pics, pls go to my facebook. The cui expressions n really gross ones are for private laughs haha.
But here's one for the captured moment
I think Anais looks so gorgeous with tt hot curly twirly bun on her head, while mine is brown n looks like a pile of shit. Thanks Anais for choosing such a glorious one for me.

I just feel so compelled to share how much my life thus far has been a living testimony of God's awesome goodness and grace in my life.
Many things I have received over the past 22 years have just been so undeserved. Because I am currently believing God for SGD10,000 for my trip next year, I feel the need to remind and encourage myself just how much the Lord has just opened doors for me. It's literally whatever I desired I received.
You know, in all my life, I have only boarded an airplane thrice. I know it's incredulous but it's true. I'm always the last one among peers to own a pair of jeans, a jumper, a nice pair of converse school shoes etc. Not to mention boarding an aeroplane. I first boarded the aeroplane when I was 16 years old.
First Plane tripI remembered the desire so strong then in January 2002. I said and proclaimed and told my parents that by hook or crook I was gonna sit on an aeroplane by June. I had no freaking idea where that amount of faith came from. 2 weeks later, I received a letter from Central Singapore Community Development Council through my school to try out for this High Five Youth Awards. The youth had to be high in 5 areas such as character, community work, studies and whatever. I remembered going for the interview and I was competing against students from RGS, RI, SCGS, ACS I and many more. And here was this girl in a green blazer from some neighbourhood school called AMKSS. Haha.
I went through 2 Boot camps, where only the top 20 would be selected or I would be booted out literally as the camp name suggest. It was held at Sentosa and we went through night walks, mind games, team work and building houses using sand at the beach. It was physically, mentally and emotionally challenging. I wasn't like the most spontaneous ones around. To cut the long story short, fast forward June 2002, I was headed for Shanghai for 8 days as a reward for the award. I did community service, saw goverment officials, visited APEC, stayed in a 6 star hotel, visited the great Bund, toured an ancient chinese village, went up the Oriental Pearl Tower nearly 500 metres above ground and so much more. My air tickets, transport, hotels and food were all paid for. So I literally just paid for shopping.
You know I told God that I was gonna sit on an aeroplane, but He overblessed me with SQ, and an all expenses paid trip.
As I grew older, my desires grew along with me as well. My 2nd trip was to Bangkok and yes Cline though we didn't all enjoy the trip thoroughly. At least, I did have fond memories spent with you. The weird massages, street food, haggling for clothes. I will go on another trip with you to Bangkok some day. =)
So my third trip happened last year. At the ripe age of 21, I boarded my paid air ticket to Hillsongs Conference 2007. I remembered telling God in Dec 2006 how much I desired to go for the conference and to just soak in the atmosphere. Fast forward January, Daddy God brought me an angel in the form of Beautiful Baoyan. She told me to just help her out taking care of her kids 3 times a week at her house. She's a guardian btw. I would help her out for about 3 months. And she would pay for my air ticket, hotel as well as AUS 200 for the Hillsong ticket. I need only save for whatever expenses I was gonna use there.
I asked God for a chance to soak in the conference atmosphere. He over blessed me with a transit trip to Brunei, a 2 week stay in Sydney including a 3 day stay at Blue Mountains. And I travelled in shiokanathan winter.
So next year at aged 23, my request is bigger this time. Daddy God I desire a transit trip to LA to visit my Sammi Darling and my 3 wk plus stay to Oklahoma. The awesome news is there is still 203 days to my trip. All 203 days for God to just overwhelm me with His blessings. I cannot wait for another awesome testimony to mark the many blessed trips in my life.
*If you realise the further and more expensive the trips are, the more I did not pay for them.
I do not have a big problem because I have a bigger God.

Last Thursday, my colleagues and I celebrated Racial Harmony Day. Kidding. But we did look very much in harmony. Haha. We arranged a week in advance a trip to Ghandi's Restaurant in Serangoon Road. Heard that the thosai and the briyani was so fragrant and tasty.
On our way to breaking fast with some of my colleagues, we visited stores which sold punjabi and sari suits in a myriad of beautiful splendid colors. The food hunters Nana and myself as well as beloved Devi and Siti.

Some of the food we ordered. Ate with hands. It was a fantastic feeling. The veggies from the briyani rice was free flow. We had fish potato cutlet ball, fried chicken with onion, thosai, sambal prawn, ikan bilis sambar i tink and masala chicken. Washed down with lime juice. We were a contented bunch. Not to mention, the briyani rice were actually fried with cashew nuts and was a generous serving indeed.

Nana with her 2nd thosai, photos outside Ghandi, bad lighting man and Siti with her banana leaf

This is I think called cumin seeds. There are sugar bits mixed inside it, supposedly to help in digestion after a hearty meal.

Photos along the brightly lit Serangoon road area getting ready for Diwali

And this was what I have been doing over the weekend. Studying. On the top is the picture of the brain from the textbook, and the bottom two pictures is a free hand drawing by yours truly whilst trying to memorise my exam qns haha.

Dreams
I cannot believe it. For someone who hardly remembers her dreams, I have been dreaming alot the past weekend. And what a coincidence that I am taking an exam paper this week on psychology and matters regarding the brain and all. Gosh. I remember both my dreams so clearly okie. Its crazy lah.
Saturday Night's DreamI basically dreamt that I was a policewoman and that this guy that I liked was working in the block which happens to be Wisma Atria. I was working in the block which happens to be Taka. And he was supposed to have his meal break at 3pm. We arranged to meet at 3.30pm but I remembered that when I took the long walk to find him, he was simply not at his block (Wisma). I went round floors and climb stairs to look for him but he simply could not be found. Along the way while I was climbing stairs I met random young punks. Then finally when I reached the 3rd of 4th floor and was walking out into this garden, grasslike area I bumped into Aunty Jenny wahah.
Aunty Jenny then proceeded to tell me that my salary will be increase though I was only 10 months into my job. (In reality, I am only 7 mths into my job ok) Craziness, and while we were talking some random long hair young girl who looked to be Aunty Jenny's assistant stood beside us and interrupted our conversation flow. Half mad my dream. All this while, the sky outside was dark and it looked like I was in a sci-fi show.
Sunday Night's DreamThis dream was worse than absurd man. I dreamt that I was queuing up for chicken rice which was sold by my japanese boss Mr Ito okie. And he had this assistant in a dark blue tee. Because there was a long queue, my friends and I which consisted of the weirdest combination of my life (Fong Ling from primary school, Lily and Cynthia from secondary school and one other indian girl tt I dunno) decided to help in the packing of rice and serving of food. Then as we helped to serve the other ppl, when it came to my friends and my turn and I was ordering with Mr Ito, his attention was diverted coz I was talking to him about something I cannot remember now.
After we finished talking, I asked him to pack my rice ok, and he told me to come again tomorrow. I thought he was Japanese and did not understand what I was trying to say. Only to realise all the time I was talking to him, his assistant in the dark blue tee had taken over, chopped and sold all the chicken to the people behind me. My friends and I were so so so mad at him. Then we made him promise to chope chicken rice for us the next day and I remembered even secretly wishing it was free. Haha.
Then I do not know why, this random girl told me she was hungry and we went out of the premises searching for food. We climbed up and down grey concrete stairs outdoors and somehow the shops seemed to be on like mountains coz the stairs were steep. We finally settled for some cheap food coz I told this girl I was with that I could not afford to eat too ex haha. Then my alarm rang. TMD haha.
Interpretting my Saturday DreamThe policewoman part is mixed up with watching too much of the Hong Kong show "On the First Beat". Wisma and Taka is just an area I am very familiar with. For the life of me I cannot remember the cute guy that I had a crush on face. And Aunty Jenny appeared because long ago, I used to fret about my salary and when it was gonna increase so that I can save up for my US trip. So many random things make a dream haha.
Interpretting my Sunday DreamI do not know why my boss became a chicken rice seller nor why those friends of mine appeared in the dream with me because I am NOT close to either of them. The steep cliff like area of stairs and food places is so strange and the part about not eating too expensive is what I tell my friends these days because I want to save up for my trip.
Weird dreams! Was I subconsciously really thinking of all these man?
I think its the pressure from studying too much hehe.

I saw mummy again. This time in monochrome in an old rectangular box. I was rummaging through her chest of drawers on the dresser today. Not sure what I was looking for. Instead, I found her in a resplendent wedding gown, pictures and pictures of it. Dad looking sauve in his working environment, grandparents enjoying a good meal at a family gathering. Mummy aged 1 in a monochrome photo with a beautiful smile.
I found her at aged 22. Turning it around I saw her ever familiar handwriting.
A phrase caught my eye, written just for my dad. "In sweet rememberance of me". She spoke my heart tt very moment.
At that point, I couldn't stop crying. I saw the youth, I saw the love, I saw the beauty of this wonderful marriage. And even as I type, tears won't stop falling from my eyes. As I looked at my dad now, I see how much he has gone through with mummy, how much he has sacrificed. And there is nothing more that I wish for then to see him smile as beautifully as those pictures again.
I am blessed to be part of this family and I treasure myself and what I possess all the more. I stood broken once, but I believe in my complete restoration and I will choose to live this life in honour of mummy and daddy. For all they have done for my life, because of their love, there was me.
I will be strong.

It was John's bday on Tues. So different groups of friends and his family all ganged up to surprise him.
Blessed 23rd John. This is your best bday yet and many many more to come.
I decided to try a new photo editting programme today. It is called PHOTOSCAPE. Was reading Peggy's blog and decided to try the programme out (in the office).
The gay glee look

Family portraits

Singapore Pools colleagues

From top : Testing camera me, pseudo act pro cameraman randy and authentic pro James

For a while, we forgot about John and decided to camwhore on our own.

Was experimenting with the colors, curved edges and what nots. I will find my own style soon. This programme is really cool and I super love how it has many effects I can choose such as cinema style, vintage and so on just like photoshop and the other freeware that I use GIMP. Apologise that some of the photos are so small, just left click on them to view a larger version ok. Haha..
Anw, Happy 1st Bday Orion's Belt too. Kinda this was how our friendship officially started. On John's 22nd.

What happens when I am very free in the office?
Well, if you have noticed, on the left side of a list of links, I have posted up blog links to the usual blogs that I read rituallistically every day. So there is a good spread of food, fashion, celebrities and babes. I dun usually go for the hollywood gossip pages or overseas fashion blogs though I do stray to them sometimes.
I just saw this dress and boots combi. Always like how boots matches so well with the cutting of this dress. I hope to find it in sg some day soon and going cheap too hee..

*photos from Joanna Goddard's blog
Reading some of these blogs give me a wider perspective of the world and sometimes I do very much feel shortchanged. As for knowing how big a foodie I am, there are actually many more food blogs but I figured giving u guys a couple of links to some of them, you will find many more links on the food blogs themselves. Many of the food pictures are not for the fainthearted I tell you hehe.
And see just how much of a kay poh I am to dig up these celebrity blogs haha. I have more like Tay Ping Hui, Ann Kok, Joanne Peh and Ivy Lee but I am just too lazy to post them now.
My life is alittle quiet right now because I am busy preparing for my exams. Will update more with trips to the Salvation Army and bazaars in a couple of weeks time.

I packed my room a while back and decided that I needed to show the transformation of my room. For those who have come to my house before, my study room was in a state of great disarray haha. I would have like to show you how my study room looked like BEFORE, but I'd rather leave you with fantastic impressions of me hahaha..
Now : My study table, dressing table, music corner and chest of drawers to put handicrafts and my big bags.

Yes, I lie down on that sofa and watch movies and shows on my laptop from there. Shiok feeling.

My dad's writing table of which is flooded with my photos haha. Everything is even neater now because I tidied up my dressing table as well as glass shelves.
