Sweet Visit

Whitney's friend Kallie Henderson came for a quick visit today.  She came up to New Jersey with her grandparents to visit her great-grandma.  We had breakfast and then took a quick swim in the pool.  The girls were very excited to see each other.  We can't wait to get back down to Georgia so they can play some more!

Jesus' Birthday!

What a blessed day we had to celebrate the birth of our Savior!  We are so grateful for His love and salvation.  I pray that our girls will come to experience it as they grow as well.  What an awesome gift we all can have!

Ben didn't have to be into work until 1:00 so we had a great morning with the girls opening presents and playing.  We were fortunate that Santa found us here in New Jersey!  Whitney was so much fun this year and really got into the whole Santa thing.  When she came out of her room and saw the presents she just said "Wow!"  Lindsey, of course, was to young to understand anything, but she loved all the new toys that were around.  She just crawled around from toy to toy.  So much fun...so much love.  We are blessed.

Cookies!

Ok, so I cheated this year and just bought store sugar cookie dough, but it was still good.  Whitney had fun rolling out the dough, cutting the shapes and decorating.  Her favorite thing by far was continually licking the knife we were spreading the icing with though.  Can't blame her I guess...

Fun in the Snow!

Yesterday we went out and played in the snow!  It was Whitney's first time to really play in it.  There were probably about 8 inches.  Ben and I both thought she wouldn't last very long at all, but turns out she's quite the snow bunny.  She absolutely loved it!  When we asked her what she wanted to play in the snow, she said that she wanted to make snow angels, so that's what we did.  And a lot of running, crawling, eating and throwing snow.  It had been a long time since I had played in the snow.  I forgot how much fun it was...nothing like your own kid to make you feel like a kid again.  Such a fun time!

Game Day at Home...

Our little peanut isn't feeling well.  She is just a few days off antibiotics and yesterday was pulling at her ear again.  She had a very restless night and woke up this morning with a green cork in one nostril and gooeyness in the other.  She has a small fever and is exhausted.  Poor little baby.  So instead of dragging her out to the game with 10+ inches of snow on the ground, we stayed home from daddy's game.  Sissy and Grammy and Grandpa are there cheering on daddy.  In the mean time I have finished up Christmas wrapping and am enjoyed a fairly stressfree day at home.  Maybe it's just what "the Big Guy" wanted for me today?  We are off to the doctor tomorrow...

Santa Visit at Macy's

On Monday we took the girls into the city to sit on Santa's lap at Macy's. They had an elaborate "Santa Land" set up that you journeyed through on your way to see the big man. Whitney was excited to see him and just ran right up to his lap when it was her turn. He didn't even have to ask what she wanted, she just told him right away, "A sparkly bouncy ball!" We put Lindsey up on Santa's other knee and got a decent picture. After Santa we went to see a puppet show in Macy's, which was, we think, an abbreviated version of Miracle on 34th St. (neither one of us have seen it). But it was really neat because they had marionette puppets that were very pretty. Whitney liked the show, but got to be a little lengthy for her, especially with an old, yucky ear infection brewing. After that we walked down 5th Avenue to see all the decorated store fronts and made our way to Rockafeller Center for Whitney to see the "big tree". Another fun filled day in the city and only a few tears shed by Whitney when it was time to leave. That girl loves the city!

Sisters in the Bath

The girls finally got to take their first bath together.  I've been looking forward to this time for a long time, for the cuteness and the ease of only one bath!  They were super cute and both seemed to like it.  Lindsey didn't even cry when Whitney poured water over her head...Little stinker!

The Rockett's!

I've been wanting to see The Rockett's for a few years now and since we are here, we figured, why not see it at Radio City Music Hall where it all started. The show was great! And the evening as whole was again a comedy of errors, but we were able to laugh it off. We were supposed to eat dinner at Tao, a chinese restaurant, at 6. Well, we were stuck in traffic forever at the Lincoln Tunnel, 45 minute delays, so we didn't even get to the restaurant until 7:15. Keep in mind that the show started at 8:00 and we had a 15 minute walk. Ben told our waiter we needed out in half hour. We quickly scarffed down our food, which, I think was delicious and were out the door by 7:45. Now we are typically fast eaters, but this was an all time record I think. So we were on our way, but then Ben realizes we were going in the wrong direction, so we turn around. Wait! Then he realizes, no we weren't, so we turn back around. We were walking so fast, I felt like I was about to puke up all my food that was not even close to being digested, but we made it to our seats in time. Even in enough time for Ben to head back out to the restroom. Whew! Then we both realized our feet were a complete mess. Ben was pretty sure his heels were bleeding through his socks and I was completely sure I had blisters on the balls of my feet. Surely time during the show would allow them to heal up...No way! We walked so slowly on the way back to our car. I wish I had a picture of what we looked like, I'm just sure people were looking at us, like, "what is wrong with those people!" Ben was trying to avoid his heels, so he was somehow bending his knees and walking, and I was trying to avoid the balls of my feet, somehow dragging my heels. I am cracking up just thinking about it! We laughed all the way back the the car. Anyway, it was a great night and again a great memory. I'm learning that to make the most memorable memories, things shouldn't go the way you plan them. :)  Thanks for a great date night hubby!

We walked by the tree in Rockefeller Center after the show, luckily it was on our way to the car...
