Dirty Thirty

I clearly don't do to well with this blogging business! There have been many events that deserve a blog post in the past little while, but on January 15, 2012 something significant happened. Ben turned 30! Ben expressed , "It's the beginning of the end of my life." We both feel a little more responsibility to grow up now, even though I'm 6 years behind him. We will see if that will happen.
The day after Ben turned 30 I threw him a surprise party! I was so happy with the turn out (thank you to all of our awesome friends!), and Ben loved it. I honestly thought he was going to be mad at me because he really hates having attention on him, but he appreciated the party and really enjoyed it.

Thanks to Jenna and Brady the party was a success! Brady was in charge of distracting Ben after work until 7. Luckily Brady had a great plan and Ben did no suspect anything! Jenna helped me cook and prepare all day! I was so behind because I was with Ben all day Saturday so I couldn't prepare anything, but we whipped it all together and made soups, awesome dips, and a cake, oh and don't forget the awesome all a dollar decor! It was a success! Happy Birthday Ben!

It doesn't get any better than this..

Well, life is moving forward with full force! After 5 years at Utah State, two semesters at BYU Hawaii, and 1 year at Weber State, Ben finally graduated!! This achievement is not only momentous, but monumental! I don't know that many can comprehend the number of hours, sleepless nights, and gruesome tests Ben endured. No need to continue to focus on the horrible aspects, because the end has come! Less than a month after graduation he even got a job offer from Autoliv. He has been an intern there for the past 2 years or so and they offered him a full time position with great salary, benefits, and time off. We are officially growing up. Now I just need to complete my masters degree (1 year left) and we will finally be done being students.

This summer has simply been amazing. Last summer I was working weekends frequently, so weekend activities were far and few between. This year we have done something fun every weekend, it is great. Some high lights have been:
  • Weekend trip to Park City with the Caspersons, Jardines, Travellers, and the Butters. This trip was a blast. We all went on a shopping spree, ate some great meals, and enjoyed some quality time together.
  • Hikes and surprises! I have lived in Logan for 5 years now and have never hiked the Crimson Trail. I have definitely been missing out. It is a beautiful hike. On a beautiful Saturday afternoon the Jardines and Ben and I went for a hike and a picnic up the trail. Now for the surprise part.. Les Miserables was playing at the Capitol Theater. So, Ben and Brady surprised Jenna and I with last minute tickets. Well, I say Ben and Brady, but I think Ben just tagged along :). It was a great surprise and a great Broadway show!
  • Ragnar Wasatch Back! This race is beginning to be a fun family tradition! As crazy as it sounds to run a 200 mile relay, it is a blast. Two of my brother were signed up to run, but were unable to so we convinced Brady and Jenna to sign on! Our team did really well. We finished in 29 hours and 29 minutes. The actual race is painful; your muscles ache, your stomach is churning, and you are simply exhausted. But the next day everyone is ready to sign up for another one! I don't exactly know how to explain that phenomena, but it is keeping us all in somewhat good shape. Right?
Phew.. that blog post is over.. Blogging needs to be more user friendly. It takes me forever! That is why I only update every 3 months or so :)

I want to go back to Mexico

We were very lucky to be able to take a Spring Break trip to Cancun, Mexico. The trip was pretty much amazing, I was not ready to come home. Ben and I went with 20 other single college students. I was worried to how it would go because we did not know many of them, but it ended up being a blast. We went snorkeling, swimming in cenotes (caves with water in them), saw the ruins, and enjoyed classic from the street Mexican food. Surprisingly neither one of use got sick. I did come home with a cold though :( Here are a few pics, more to come...

I am a terrible blogger

I know, I know, I am a terrible blogger. I never update it. I just don't feel as though I have exciting things to share. So you get what you get and I am updating it, I hope it will suffice.

The Holidays were great! Ben and I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning with just the two of us. It was a nice change of pace. As soon as we were finished opening our presents we were on the road to visit our families.

Ben got a new hunting coat for Christmas! (Hunting gear is always a great option for gifts, just to let you know fellow wives!)

Apparently i was very excited for new perfume! Little did I know the next present was an iPhone! We have that on camera and it will not be released to the public eye. I love my iPhone!

Ben was exhausted after a long day! Every year my family plays an annual Christmas basketball game. Fortunately, we have no evidence of this event. Many were extremely out of shape and ready to collapse at any moment :)
Cute little Ella in her new Christmas Pajamas and playing with her new Christmas toys!
The whole fam the day after Christmas. I failed to get a pic with Ben's fam on Christmas day! Along with blogging, I am a horrible picture taker. I always forget my camera, unless it is a vacation!

The break from school was awesome. We were able to do a lot of fun things together. The one even I documented was a trip to Hardware Rance with Brady and Jenna. A trip to Hardware is always worth it!

For New Years we spent the weekend in Cokeville at our friends vacation home. It was a lot fun and of course I have no documentation. But it was a good New years and always good to get away!

Christmas!

I love the Christmas Season! Along with all of the beautiful decorations, you can feel the spirit of Christ touching everyone's hearts. It's amazing!
After a long debate I finally broke down and bought a fake pre-lit tree. I miss having a real one, it isn't very big, but oh so easy to put up!

New!

We got a new computer! My laptop died... it was so sad, but our new computer is awesome! It has definitely been used this semester!

In August we moved into a new place. I am loving it! I have tons of space, a dishwasher, washer and dryer and an extra room for all of Ben's junk! Here are a few pics...

I am slacking on blogging, not life!

I didn't realize it had been so long since I had blogged! Time is just flying by, which is a good thing when you are student. Ben and I are both in school this semester and it is busier than ever. Ben only has one more semester after this one, and I just started my graduate degree. We had a great ending to our summer and are loving fall in good 'ol Logan! (Yesterday we went on a walk up the canyon and it was absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately my camera battery was dead!) Although school has its challenges we are both grateful that we have the opportunity to get an education! It will be so nice to have our education completed soon! Well this post is boring, but I have to get back to my paper! Here are a few pics...

Amy and I going to a cave on Labor Day.
Ben just entertaining the girls, they love him.
