This morning my Grandma Brown passed away.
She was 92 years old.
She always said that she would live to be 102.
For some reason I think I always believed that she would.
There are a million things that I always want to remember about my Grandma Brown.
They're things that I know I will never forgot.
When I think of my Grandma they are the first things that come to my mind.
I'm going to really miss her.
I loved her hands.
From the time I was a little girl I would hold her hands for hours and tell her that I wished
that one day my hands would look just like hers.
She would laugh.
She was a hard worker.
She truly believed in early to bed and early to rise.
She would watch Wheel of fortune every night and then it was bed time.
She needed to be up by 5:00am so she could get her yard watered
and food cooking for those that were in her neighborhood or coming to visit.
Our visits to Arizona were my favorite vacations growing up.
I loved staying at her house.
She always had the best treats when we came to visit.
Red vines, snickers, ice cream bars, cheese puffs, and pepsi in the fridge.
I would have never known what a pepsi was growing up if it wasn't for my grandma :)
Eventually the pepsi changed to fresh squeezed juice that she would make every morning.
Playing golf on her little putting green in her backyard.
Riding in her little old car "Austy."
Grandma coming to visit and taking me to Junior High in her little red mercedes.
On the drive to school she would always say,
"Let's see how fast we can get this car to go!"
I have no idea how fast she got it going but it was way faster than it should have gone!
She was a great bowler. A wonderful artist. And loved to dance.
She was full of energy!
Grandma Brown with Ellie on her baptism day.
My grandma was an artist and so Ellie would always color her
pictures when we went to visit her.
My Grandma would hang them all next to her bed.
She was convinced that one day Ellie was going to be an artist just like her.
Grandma Brown and Anna.
Grandma would always take Anna's face in between her hands and tell
her that she had the cutest little face.
This was the last time my Grandma came to Utah to visit.
She was 89 and climbed right into the pretend house that the kids were
making out of a cardboard box.
Me, my mom, Sara, and Grandma
My grandma would love to have Sara visit her.
We have been lucky enough to only live 20 minutes away from my Grandma
since moving here for residency.
It has been so fun for the kids being able to visit and spend time with their
Great Grandma Brown.
My grandma was so excited to see our new baby girl.
Up until the last day
she always reminded me that our little baby girl could come on her birthday.
She would have been 93 on April 12th.
This is how I will always remember her.
Dancing away on her 90th birthday.
I love you Grandma.
