Christmas Show

Clara's school had a Christmas show today. Unfortunately, our camera broke just before the kiddos walked in. Thankfully Drew had his phone to capture our little girl in her first show, especially since she had been cast as Mary!

We were so proud of her.
Merry Christmas!

And we thought it was hard keeping up with blog posts with one child...

Sheesh. We have been having a lot of fun, but just not having any energy left over for the blogitivity. In the last few months...

Clara started preschool (playschool, actually). Dropoffs were a little rough at the beginning, but she now loves it, and has a blast playing, singing, arts-and-crafting, and cavorting with her new friends. Here she is on her first day, wearing her fancy Turkish backpack from Nona and Paddy.

We get cat visitors in our yard every now and then.

Elsa is awake, alert, and smiling a lot.

Drooling, too.

Elsa at two months!

The tutoring sessions have begun.

Playing in the dirt in the backyard.

Jolly baby.

Sisters.sisters...rocking the snowman jammies.

Clara is becoming quite the baseball fan.

Wearing crowns because...who doesn't want to wear (or make)  a crown?

Tower building with Aunt Jessica.

Enjoying the fall weather with a hike near our house.

Elsa is dressed up for Thanksgiving dinner.

Family-wide flu outbreak led to smaller Thanksgiving plans than anticipated, but Aunt Melanie saved the day by delivering an entire dinner: turkey, stuffing, and all- even decorations!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Elsa is bundled and ready for some tree-cutting action.

At the family-owned and -run Johnson farm in Boulder Creek.

Ain't she a beaut? Our tree was officially christened "Feliz", but Clara renamed it "Elmo".

Clara could (and sometimes does) do this for hours.

Elsa is seriously a tummy time champ. Check out the verticality here!

In Ojai for Grammy's birthday.

My terribly shy ladies in the 100+ year old outdoor amphitheater at Thacher School, where Grammy works. This is not the first or last time for Clara to be on a stage.

Grammy and Tia Lauren enjoying some great Ojai weather

DISNEYLAND!!

Clara keeps the family Alice tradition alive by wearing the dress Heather wore to Disneyland when she was little.

The teacups were a big hit,

but not as big a hit as the princesses.  Clara definitely got in a few hugs.

Grammy was very excited to celebrate her birthday at Disneyland with the girls. She posed for a picture in this same spot with her grandmother when the park was only a few years old.

Clara mined the depths of her bravery and tackled Dumbo with Mama and Tia.

Final Elsa parting shot.

Hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas season and having good family time. Merry Christmas!

Cousin!

Clara and Elsa's first girl cousin was born yesterday.

Moira Avens Donahoe joined the family and she is awesome.
We can't wait to meet her at Christmas.
Congratulations Uncle Porkchop and Aunt Dee!

Elsa's first Halloween!

Auntie Coco, fresh off the boat and soon to depart for Australia, came to visit us for Halloween weekend. We all had a GREAT time!

Clara drew this face on her pumpkin- impressive, right?

 Girls and gourds.

Sisters.

Our little Fairy.

Ready for some trick-or-treat action.

Elsa was a pumpkin.

Three pretty fairies.

As Clara liked to say at the door: "Trick-or-treating!"

Re-enacting our picture from last year. Our family (and eldest daughter) are a little bigger now.

Elsa is smiling

Beautiful, gentle, voluntary, social smiles. Can't beat that.
