Canton & Cowboy Fever Weekend

12 hours: My new longest record for being away from my Brookie Baby. What an eventful 12 hours though! I went with a few friends to Canton and we shopped til we dropped. I only went $12 over my limit! I got 2 Circle E candles (made in Fredericksburg--close to home), one other candle, a beyond cute diaper bag with a bright pink "B" embroidered on it, and a sign for Brooke's room. It was great for me to get out of the house. I really enjoyed getting closer with the girls on the trip.

Well football season is starting to get a little exciting... Cowboys are 4-0 so far this season. I have to say I'm a fair-weather fan, while David is and will always be a true blue Cowboy fan. Daddy & Baby watched the game together today. Brooke sported her Cowboys onesie from Aunt Diana.

Speaking of football, David coached his first game of the season last week. They won and are excited to play again this Tuesday. Brooke did really well at both "Red" (A team) and "Blue" (B team) games. I went to a resale shop and found a couple long sleeved onesies and ironed on some lettering so we can cheer Daddy on at the games. I realized holding a baby at the games may require me getting one of those stadium seat dealies with a back on it, so I'm shopping around for one.
The white one says "eagles" in rhinestones (of course).

With the start of school I am thankful again that David teaches and coaches middle school. I'm reminded of our first year of marriage when we hardly ever saw each other in the daytime because he was a high school coach. This schedule is so much better for a family, plus he really loves his job. God is good!

We're looking forward to another busy week!

12 lbs 10 oz

Brooke is getting sooo big! We went to the dr. Monday for her 4 month appointment and she's 12 lbs 10 oz now, 24 1/4 in long, and her head is 16 1/4 in circumference. She's healthy and happy and meeting most of her milestones on target. We are still working on the rolling over. She is such a joy. Our hearts just overflow with love for her. She is seriously the best and cutest baby ever.

We spent last weekend in NB with my famiglia. We also got to spend some time with my good friends Karene & Emily & Em's family. The trip there seems to take longer every time we go. I wish we were not so far away from my family. Feels like we're being pulled in so many directions right now, but here seems right for right now. Anyway here are some pics from the awesome weekend with my wonderful parents and sister Kelly.

Labor Day in MP

We had a fun Labor Day weekend in MP. Most of David's family was there to see Brooke and her cousin KayeLeigh. We went to Nannie's (Brooke's great-grandma's) house a few times. Nannie cooked up a big meal for the family while in her wheelchair, and I could tell she very happy to have so many of her family members around.

Brooke slept most of the way there...

We got to spend some fun time with Jerid, Amanda, & KayeLeigh since we stayed in the same house. Everyone is so amazed that both girls are so easy going and sweet. KayeLeigh is 5 weeks older than Brooke, so we hope they will be close growing up. KayeLeigh is already teething and almost sitting up, which gets David & me thinking about what Brooke's next milestone will be (hopefully not teething). We missed Jeanett since she was in Tunica, but she was nice enough to let us and the babies stay at her house. Monday after everyone else left, David & I watched 4 episodes of "24" before we headed home. We need to pace ourselves.

On the way back home, David & I went over our new budget, the one that includes only one paycheck (YIKES). I know it's going to be hard, and I was beginning to have doubts. When we got home we prayed about it, and we were reassured that we would be taken care of. We just have to be faithful. I'm sure we'll look back on these times fondly as some of the best of our lives.
