The Party!

Carrie, Sharla, & Erin threw their mom a wonderful 60th birthday party! It was obvious how much planning and effort went in to the event. I was so happy I could attend! It was a wine tasting party. Kelly was the only wine taster at our table since she was sitting with two pregnant girls and a preteen.

The spread...all I can say is yum, yum!
Sharla brought this wine called Middle Sister. How appropriate!

Hollywood

Guess what!! I just spent the weekend in California!! WithOUT my kids!!!
Mom had a trip planned for us to all go there to spend time with Aunt Darla and the girls back in September, but that obviously did not happen. So we got to exchange the tickets for this weekend, just in time to attend Aunt Darla's birthday celebration, a great party put on by her sweet daughters. We were able to fit in some sightseeing too. The first day we went to Hollywood.

Birthday Extravaganza 2009

Mom, Dad, my sister Summer, nephew Felix *ahem*, I mean Carter, niece Kendra, sister Kelly, and her boyfriend Blain all made the trip to Dallas to celebrate a few birthdays in the family. Carter, Austin, and I all have birthdays within a week of each other. We usually pick an Embassy Suites somewhere in Texas to meet up and celebrate. This year it just made sense to stay close to Dallas since we now have quite the crew. We stayed at the Embassy Suites by the Galleria which was quite nice thanks to Mom & Dad!

Austin wanted his "own" party at home before we went to the hotel, so he got his own cake and opened presents here at home when everyone arrived. I was amazed by how many people were so thoughtful to send Austin cards and presents. He loved them all! Another special treat was talking to baby sister Charlotte, Aunt Jessica, Matt, cousins Gracie & Mari on Skype.

Austin got the little turtle, I got the big one.
Then we headed to the hotel where we were met by two beautiful swans! We enjoyed family time at the hotel, swimming, and we had another round of yummy birthday cake made especially by Kelly and Mom.
The girls all received matching Easter dresses from Mom. We just HAD to try them on!

Sisters-How could you tell?
Plenty of clown noses to go around...
The birthday people-Wow, I convinced a 14 year old to wear a clown nose!
My actual birthday was yesterday. It was actually kind of stressful because I spent 3 1/2 hours at the doctors office with all three kids. But I came home to find flowers had been delivered to the house, thanks to my sweet and wonderful husband! Thanks David!
