This last week both boys started swimming lessons. I didn't grab any pictures before they whisked Cooper away to his class, but here are a few while we were waiting for Ethan's class to start.
Ethan was so excited to be like Cooper. He wanted to wear goggles (even though he doesn't need them until he turns 3) because Cooper has to wear them for his class.
Here is Cooper standing with his teacher Miss Megan.
Ethan and I waiting for his class to start. Until he turns three he will be in a Parent/Tot class, so I get in the water with him.
Coopers getting in the water.
They have PVC pipe "decks" that they put at the end of each lane so kids can sit in the water while the teacher helps one kid at a time.
Cooper's first turn out with his teacher. Last year he was starting to work on floating on his back but I think it will take a few lessons to get comfortable enough to work back up to the level he ended at last year. We'll go every week for at least a couple of months so I hope they'll be more comfortable to swim this summer.
Here is a random picture from Tot School on Thursday. Cooper has been playing on ABCmouse.com and is starting to enjoy it. Right now it's just set to reinforce the learning he's already done, but hopefully by the fall he'll be comfortable enough with the program to try new challenging lessons on it.
Little Ethan just couldn't stay awake any more. It was about 4 pm and I didn't put him down for nap hoping he'd go to bed early but he climbed on my lap and fell asleep instead.
Here is a random picture that Ethan took of us while we were cleaning up the house.
Cooper is working on some math lately. He working on identifying the numbers 1-20 and matching them with base ten block pictures. The pictures will lead him into an understanding of place value in a base ten system, but we're not ready for that advanced work yet.
