October - November

Little Zooey June will be 7 months tomorrow!
I can't believe it! She got her first tooth a few days ago and is up on all fours rocking back and forth threatening to crawl. What's happening! It's going by way too fast! She loves eating her oatmeal, playing on the floor with her toys and walking in the walker but above all, she loves her big brother and sister!
This little girl absolutely lights up when she sees or even hears Sophia and Oliver. Fortunately for her, the feeling is mutual. They treat her like the Queen of the house, going to crazy extremes to get her to laugh or smile.

Britt and I were going to get a picture of these two cuties in their Christmas jammies but Zooey's got wet so we tried to improvise. Zooey kept attacking Teddy and I don't think he appreciated it. He was smiling so big before we sat her next to him!

She is such a happy curious little girl. She makes a lot of noises but none of them resemble words or human language. Mostly growling and raspberries.
Can we talk about her chub?! Those cheeks that just hang there and beg to be kissed!
funny little high heels!
as you can see, we attempted a photo shoot
At her 6 month Dr visit, she measured 75th percentile for weight and 95 in height!
No wonder I had to stop using the Baby Bjorn at 4 months!
These are my favorite...Sumo Baby!
She looks like Shane to me in this one
I love this precious little girl. She is a joy to have in our home and I feel so blessed to be her mom.

Happy Birthday to me!! My birthday was on Thanksgiving this year so I requested an Apple Crisp (my favorite) instead of cake!
As always, my helpers are there to assist with the candles!
What a beautiful spread! The food was beyond yummy- thanks to Sherrie and her hard work slaving away in the kitchen.

No Thanksgiving would be complete without Turkey Bowl! And yes, our boys came home with the W!

a quick hug before a soak in the jacuzzi

We also got to see Landon and Chloe for a couple of days in Nov. With all of these visits from the cousins, my kids were in Heaven!

Enjoying dinner on the deck!

Ring around the Rosie is one of Zooey's favorites! This picture captures her absolute delight!

SURPRISE!
HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY OLIVER!!
This year Oliver had a very specific request for his birthday. When I asked him what kind of party he wanted he said, without delay, that he wanted a Surprise Super Hero party.
So I did all I could to make that little boys dreams come true.
As you can see, he was very surprised!!

Super hero cake walk. Oliver actually colored all of the pictures earlier that week but had no idea that I was going to use them again. He was excited to see his artwork again! We also made some cute little capes for all the guest to wear and take home. When I say we, I mean Sherrie. She was my own personal Super Hero!
About mid way through the party, a recluse villain (Shane in a costume) showed up and started causing problems. All the kids ran inside (some genuinely freaking out) and watched from the window as Steve (a dad) tried, to no avail, to contain the villain by wrestling him to the ground. Meanwhile in another room Spiderman (Oliver) was suiting up to take on the villain and put a stop to his shenanigans once and for all. Right as he was putting on his mask, we heard all the kids chanting from the other room "SPIDERMAN! SPIDERMAN! SPIDERMAN!" Equip with a can of silly string, he bolted outside to save the day! I am soo sad that we don't have any pictures. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Oliver was saying to himself the whole time I was helping him into his suit "this is awesome, this is awesome, this is awesome"! I don't even know if he realized he was saying it out loud.
He really deserved this special party, he's a sweet little boy.
uh.....I'm mean super tough and cool BIG boy!
The cake that I made him was so fun to create. It started off a bit simpler but I got a little carried away.

HALLOWEEN!!
Spidey and Pocohauntas
It was so fun to see Sophia in her school Halloween parade at Travillah Elementary. Oliver even got to walk with her. This is the same Halloween parade that was walked by her daddy and his siblings- so crazy!
We also had a special music class that day. It was held at a local nursing home. This picture makes me chuckle. Look at all these cute old ppl, not even paying attention."what's all that racket"!
My go-to costume
Zooey was the cutest little peacock. she fell asleep every time we stuffed her in that little snuggly costume!
The kids wanted us to paint their faces for the Trunk or Treat at the church.

If you know Sophia, this picture won't surprise you. So typical of her to find a safe place (away from mom and dad) and pig out on as much candy as she can before it's confiscated! Oliver was doing the same but he didn't finish one single piece of candy. When I looked in his bag, I found everything opened with one bite gone. He was very proud of himself for trying so many new things but announced that he didn't like any of it.

Shane went as Lewis (Lewis and Clark) I was Sacajawea
My mom helped me make her costume when she was here visiting. If there is one thing my mom's good at it's being innovative and creative.

Trick or treating in Georgetown with the Alfandres- SO FUN!
The neighborhood really goes all out.

Old Town Alexandria
It was so great having my parents here for a few days. The kids loved spending time with them. We went to Old Town , Harper's Ferry and did a lot of quality hanging out at home. Such wonderful people and super fun Grandparents! The kids were sad to see them go :-(

A few random pictures that got left out of the summer blog post.
We ordered this butterfly kit online. We watched them grow from a small worm then a chrysalis and hatch into butterflies! It was pretty incredible. We even got to release them by letting them crawl on our hand and then fly off. I recommend this project. We'll definitely be doing it again next summer.
Shane loves his neice! can you blame him, look at that little cutie!

Such a daddy's girl!
