3. Rising Of The Beast
4. Dead And Rotting
5. Idolator
6. Terrorstrikes
7. The One True Death
8. Contained And Controlled

6th album by Cianide. It sees no mess about progression,  only a continuation of the death, doom and destruction maniacs have come to expect over the last 20+ years. They have proven they're masters of all tempos and this remains true here, from speed-fests to crushing low 'n slow power of songs. The band knows the importance of massive riffs and use that to great effect, with the rhythm section heavy, rumbling, feeling kept intact.

Debut album by Death Dealers. Raw crust D-Beat band with Dean Jones, Phil Vane and Chino from Extreme Noise Terror and Charlie Claeson from Anti-Cimex alongside with members from Raw Noise. Buzzsaw crust riffs with an underlying glimmer of melody, super-slick swedish sound that Anti-Cimex nailed and the likes of Disfear, Skitsystem, Wolfbrigade and Victims offer up to the world, backed by the most instantly recognisable pipes in grindcore.

8. Warhorns Of Midgard
9. Spirit

Debut album by Nothgard. It is a fun album, with the unconventional influences that have been added into their music. The smart usage of various folk instruments like the horns on Einherjer creates an epic sound for the band, along with the orchestral arrangements at the background. The guitar solos, while melodic death metal influenced and bordering on neo-classical shredding styled, retain their folk metal edge.

Infinight - Like Puppets

Genre: Thrash/Power
Country: Germany
Year: 2011

1. State Of War

3. Media Serpents

5. Saviour Demon
6. Here To Conquer
7. To All The Foreign Heroes
8. Godforsaken
9. Egomaniacal
10. The Puppeteer
11. City Lights (The Concrete Forest)

2nd album by Infinight. The base of the albums sound is in the traditional sounding power metal vein, but the influence of thrash metal is quite evident and if you listen close enough there is a bit of a feeling of progressive metal scattered in there too. The album’s lyrics, which by the way are offered up by an outstanding vocalist in Martin Klein, follow a loose concept about everybody on earth being like a puppet for the higher authorities.

6. Tear Down The Wall
7. Commit To Rock
8. Ride On
9. Like A Fox
10. Attack Attack (Tokyo Blade cover)
11. No False Metal

Debut album by Skull Fist. The music is all about minor-key speed addiction, guitar harmonies and tons of leads. This is much like Running Wild style NWOBHM with the Metallica reference still relevant for speed. The band mastered their instruments and produced a lot of energy, with a voice (love it or hate it) that reminds Riot.

His music is strictly less heavy than Sodom, but it still combines metal, some elements of punk as well as waltzes and folk songs. The lyrics are again about drinking, feasting, boozing and partying!

1. Destroy Your Fucking Life
2. End It All Now
3. Black Shores
4. A World In Ruins
5. No End To Night

A self released 'Ep by Endless Disease, a trio band that lies in anonymity. It includes the songs of their first demo plus two new ones. Rather crude and violent, that marks a unique guitar style, each riff so like on percussion rythm and the tremendous voice full of anger that defines this crust/black metal.

Cruachan - Tuatha Na Gael

Genre: Black/Folk/Pagan
Country: Ireland
Year: 1995

1. I Am Tuan
2. The First Battle Of Moytura
3. Maeves’ March
4. Fall Of Gondolin
5. Cúchulainn
6. Taín Bó Cuailgne
7. To Invoke The Horned God
8. Brian Boru
9. To Moytura We Return

Debut album by Cruachan, that shreds more than the rest of their albums! One of the first albums that mixes black metal with folk/celtic melodies and tunes. It is more in the lines of black metal with folk elements, somehow justifying a pretty crude production. Most of the songs are really memorable and in my opinion they never managed to overpass the success of their debut.

10. Slovo
11. Odna
12. Vo Moiom Sadochke
13. Stenka Na Stenku
14. Zimushka

6th album by Arkona. One will find gloomy elegies, grim anthems, acoustic meditations, deafening headbangers, but above all more metal. Arkona borrow at different times elements from doom, symphonic, groove, nor do they forget their black metal roots. The whole atmosphere is strengthened by academical choir, chamber orchestra and excellent guest musicians from the folk/pagan metal scene.

5. 1302 – Battle For Freedom

7. Annihilation
8. Fly Arrow Fly (Crécy 1346)
9. Mona Lisa
10. Hold Your Ground
11. Born To Play Metal
12. Metal Rages On (instrumental)

Debut album by FireForce. Erwin Suetens is the guitar brain, who can create magnificent riffs and solos and together with Steve Deleu they do great things. The riffing in here brings in mind Running Wild and Accept on a faster tempo and with the combination of their modern thoughts they are far away from imitations. The basic characteristic is that all the songs have great riffs and the only instrumental moment of the album offers a speed pleasure.

3. Matter Of Attitude
4. Preacher, Preacher
5. Beer Bong
6. Socialized Hate
7. Best Defense
8. Product Of The Past
9. Rest In Pieces
10. Urban Decay

Debut album by Atrophy. There's a steady flow of riffs through and through, most of which are pretty catchy and some are downright headbangable, resulting in an overall enjoyable, almost party-like atmosphere despite the rather serious lyrical themes. Lyrics deal with such things as war, drugs, racism, social injustice and related political themes. The vocals are not the best in the genre, a little raspy and thin-sounding, but they do fit well with the music.

5. Our Dying Island
6. Pagan Man
7. Cradle Will Fall
8. Skyclad
9. Moongleam And Meadowsweet
10. Terminus

Debut album by Skyclad. It is a remarkable debut, at this early stage with more elements of forceful thrash metal than actual folk music. With Martin Walkyier's angry vocals remaining some of the best in the thrash metal history, there are some truly classic tracks on this album. Someone can say that this is the end of the trilogy Sabbat started with their 2 first albums.

2. Out To Kill
3. Attack From Behind
4. Final Breath
5. Red Sun Arises

7. No Way Out
8. Blood Patrol

A perfect mix of thrash, punk and hardcore. The band delivers on their 1st demo, 8 fast and angry thrashy tracks with a huge metal-heart and love for NWOBHM stuff. Great raw production (for a demo),  with blackish vocals and influences from early Celtic Frost and Venom, to Discharge and G.B.H., to Kreator and Slayer.

2nd album by Coroner. It is an album of pretty jaw-dropping technical thrash crammed with lightning fast technical riffing, double bass thrash drumming, blazing solos and unorthodox song structures. This is a progressive technical thrash album that twists and turns constantly and will blow you away musically.

Hallows Eve - Death & Insanity

Genre: Thrash
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 1986

1. Death And Insanity
2. Goblet Of Gore
3. Lethal Tendencies
4. Obituary
5. Plea Of The Aged
6. Suicide
7. D.I.E.
8. Attack Of The Iguana
9. Nefarious
10. Nobody Lives Forever
11. Death And Insanity (Reprise)

2nd album by Hallows Eve. Compared to their debut, this release is much more slower. All the songs are catchy as hell, especially the slower shout-a-long choruses. Most of the time the riffs are quite mid paced and flowing tight with the drums. Lyrically speaking, that’s the one thing that hasn’t changed much at all, it’s still the horror influenced lines we heard before, but less cheese and more maturity.

1. Hell Awaits
2. Kill Again
3. At Dawn They Sleep
4. Praise Of Death
5. Necrophiliac
6. Crypts Of Eternity
7. Hardening Of The Arteries

2nd album by Slayer. It is again a dark, foreboding effort, but it manages to incorporate at least some of the energy of 'Show No Mercy' with more ambitious song structures. Musically there are no big differences, and for the most part the material is basically fine. The production lacks some dynamics again, but the quality is pretty sufficient anyway. It is a definite improvement over the preceding mini album and a sign of even better things to come.

3. Cannibal
4. Vampire
5. Blood Lust
6. Suicidal Mission
7. Venomous Death
8. The Evil
9. Darkside
10. R.I.P.

Quite a primitive debut album by Blood Feast. Slayerish debut of one-dimensional thrash metal with a very thin and messy sound. The music is constantly fast and sounds fairly nasty. A notable feature of the early Blood Feast sound was Gary Markovitch's nasty vocals that add to the somewhat wicked feel of the music.

After a primitive debut album, Kreator released one of their fan favorite albums, which was a ferocious and bitting mixture of all out speed with all out aggression, that subsequently went on to become one of the band’s best known works, hugely influential and a classic album of thrash metal in general.

22. Busted Again 23. Equal People 24. On My Way Home 25. Bail Out

2nd album by D.R.I.. This album shows quite a bit of growth from their debut, even though it features reworked versions of many of the songs from the Dirty Rotten LP. The riffs are memorable punk phrasings played at lightning speed, with a slightly dark, metal flavored tone about them. Generally the songs are nonlinear, frequently alternating between fast and unmoshibly slow phases, and then ending abruptly.

Alpinist & Masakari - Split

Genre: Hardcore/Crust/Sludge
Country: Germany/U.S.A.
Year: 2011

Alpinist
1. Abgerichtet
2. Subjection
3. Steps
4. Postmodern Problems
5. Unwanted Encore
6. Instrumental
7. Quelle Valeur Reste
Masakari
8. XVII. The Obscene Underbelly

10. XVII. Sleep
11. XXII. Q. Culture A. Resist
12. XXIV. Trapped In The Mold
13. XXI. Progress
14. XXIII. Hexenhammer 15. XX. Modulation

Germany's Alpinist meets Cleveland, Ohio's Masakari to present pure hardcore punk brutality. Alpinist's crusty aesthetic creates an all around dense atmosphere, which adds a little bit of character to an otherwise chaotic and unruly album. Masakari throw in a solid helping of sludgy crust and somber melodies to deliver a truly fresh and energized take on the sub-genre.

5. We Wanna Rock You
6. Legion Of The Lost
7. Tyrant
8. 2000 Light Years from Home (The Rolling Stones cover)
9. Heart Attack

Debut album by Grave Digger. This is a pretty solid speed metal album here. Some of the ideas are a bit stronger than others, but in entirety it is an enjoyable listen. Hammering home one huge speed metal riff after another, Heavy Metal Breakdown starts off balls to the wall and just gets heavier.

2. The Burning Of Sodom
3. Hunger Of The Undead
4. Merciless Death
5. Death Is Certain (Life Is Not)
6. Black Prophecies
7. Perish In Flames

2nd album by Dark Angel. The band had found the true formula of intense thrash metal and the result is a wonderful combination of fast riffs,  some very hard-hitting drumming and striking vocals. Many tracks are faster than ever before and this album is some real fun to listen to. The only disadvantage may be the production which, while still pretty decent, has lost some clarity compared to the band's debut.

Tokyo Blade - Thousand Men Strong

Genre: Heavy/ NWOBHM
Country: England
Year: 2011

1. Black Abyss
2. Thousand Men Strong
3. Lunch-Case
4. Forged In Hell's Fire
5. No Conclusion
6. The Ambush
7. Killing Rays
8. Heading Down The Road
9. Condemned To Fire
10. Night Of The Blade

8th album by Tokyo Blade, 13 years after their last one. Most of the band’s original line up has remained intact, except for lead singer Nicolaj Runhow who takes first bite in the vocal department and he does it pretty well. They do not live in the past too much and bring in modern production values. The dual lead guitars feel so fresh in an era dominated by down-tuned guitars.

Denial Fiend - Horror Holocaust

Genre: Death/Crossover
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 2011

1. Corrupted Flesh
2. Stuck Pig/Bleeding Out
3. After Party Massacre
4. Flesh Coffin
5. A Fiend Without A Face
6. Horror Holocaust
7. Dunsmoor
8. Hell Asylum

2nd album by Denial Fiend, a 'supergroup' consisting of Terry Butler (Death, Massacre, etc), Sam Williams (Massacre), Rob Rampy (D.R.I., etc.) and Blaine Cook (The Accused,etc.). It’s mid to fast paced thrashy death with lots of big, crunchy riffings and wild solos. Blaine is unleashed behind the mic and on most of the songs he never stops his weird, insane screaming and cartoon voices. With lyrics revolving around horror and slasher movies, they play with fierce intensity and have put out an album that will appeal to not only death metal freaks, but hardcore and crossover fans as well.

Hate Eternal - Phoenix Amongst The Ashes

Genre: Death
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 2011

1. Rebirth
2. The Eternal Ruler
3. Thorns Of Acacia
4. Haunting Abound
5. The Art Of Redemption
6. Phoenix Amongst The Ashes
7. Deathveil
8. Hatesworn
9. Lake Ablaze
10. The Fire Of Resurrection

5th album by hate Eternal. We’re basically talking about 42 minutes of straight forward brutality. The guitars are intricate, the drums fast and technical, the vocals scathing and the melody virtually non-existent. Continuing with tradition, Erik Rutan and friends show off their technical proficiency throughout the album’s ten tracks. It is almost too fast for time itself, with a whirlwind of drums and guitars hurtle by at an ungodly pace.

Niburta - Awakening 'Ep

Genre: Folk/Death
Country: Hungary
Year: 2011

1. Awakening
2. Fúvom az énekem

This 'Ep by Niburta it's only a downloadable version from the band's web site. A song of folkish melodic death metal, that is featuring everything a ''cheesy'' folk metal band requires: folky melodies, mouthharps, throat singing, pipes, bagpipes, female vocals and flutes. The 2nd song is an instrumental one.

2nd album by Badmouth. The band produces straight ahead, no frills sleazy hard rock, with the right hooks and songs that really stick. 11 entertaining songs blur the lines between melodic hard rock and heavy metal. These songs are made strong by exceptional composition, musicianship and production.

Cathedral - Forest Of Equilibrium

Genre: Heavy/Doom
Country: England
Year: 1991

1. Picture Of Beauty & Innocence/Commiserating The Celebration
2. Ebony Tears
3. Serpent Eve
4. Soul Sacrifice
5. A Funeral Request
6. Equilibrium
7. Reaching Happiness, Touching Pain

Debut album by Cathedral. They made quite an impact on the metal scene with the release of this album. Expectations were high as the members came from acts such as Napalm Death, Dream Death and Acid Reign, but Cathedral is a very different beast compared to the bands the members previously were in. The inspiration from '70s doom metal is obvious but on this album the band fuse the old school doom metal influence with an extreme metal touch.

Debut album by Death Angel, a huge piece of thrash metal, full of sharp & incisive riffs, wonderful solos, and a 14 year-old drummer blastin' the beat. The sound here is a little bit raw, and that give all the strength to the composition. Catchy, fast, and attractive, welcome in the world of the early Death Angel.

Sabbat - History Of A Time To Come

Genre: Thrash
Country: England
Year: 1988

4. Behind the Crooked Cross
5. Horned Is the Hunter
6. I for an Eye
7. For Those Who Died
8. A Dead Man's Robe
9. The Church Bizarre

Debut album by Sabbat. Instead of following the standard thrash formula, Sabbat derived inspiration from old pagan legends and folklores which helped to create some unique imagery and feel in their music. A razor-sharp, incredibly powerful slice of pure thrashing intensity, the album also came packed with a few very original twists, not least of which had to be peculiar lead singer Martin Walkyier.

Country: Kyrgystan/Germany
Year: 2004

1. Part I - Sary Oy
2. Part II - Jashil Oy
3. Part III - Kyzil Oy

Debut album by Darkestrah. A raw, melancholic black metal album mixing melody, Kyrgys traditional music and deep atmosphere. There's a long, drawn-out instrumental intro to each track, that goes on for a matter of minutes and when you least expect it, the guitars come blasting in.

2. Skaal Shanty
3. As The Murder Flies
4. Maybon Shore

Debut album by Oakhelm, risen from the ashes of Fall Of The Bastards. The band creates a chaotic alterverse through explosive black and death metal bursts along with dreamy acoustic melodies and triumphant march odes. The lyrics are deeply influenced by the “Celtic Book of the Dead”, word-of-mouth ‘texts’ that deal with shamanic journeys one can take to cleanse themselves of their inner turmoils.

15. Bullets For Words
16. Delirium Tremens 17. Bulls On Parade

Debut album by Pigsty. The songs are violent and engaging. These Czech lunatics approach their songs with a totally juvenile behaviour and lot of humour, but create something so weird, eerie and utterly brutal. Hyper speed drums blast away while the guitarist duo of Burmann and Otyn come up with blazingly fast riffs.

Judas Priest meeting Running Wild in 10 songs full of passion and great riffs. The music is inspired by death to posers, warriors, metal and steel and it is recommended for fans of Enforcer, Katana, etc.

6. Kodiak (Part I)
7. Kodiak (Part II)

2nd album by Turbid North. Inspired by their frigid surroundings and the tale of a hunter trapped in the wilderness,  both the album and the band’s own story parallels the hunter’s fight for survival, kept going by a will of stone. Great death metal with thrash and doom elements, great atmosphere and top notch musicianship.
