Whiskey Woods Rain Walk

Hi furiends, We went on a walk to Whiskey Woods with our friend Sammy & his mom. Looked pretty nice but as soon as we got close it started RAINING. What's with that?? We were looking for some more sun. Anyhow, it was fun even with the rain. Under the trees are flowers what mom calls Lily of the Valley. The red tree is a Japanese Maple. When we got to Whiskey Woods we crossed the creek. Sometimes we get to go down to it but with the rain the 2 moms kept us 3 moving. (Sasha stayed home - was going to take her out later for a walk)
Mom didn't do too good with this pic. Kinda fuzzy. But it was the only pic Sammy was in. He is the white dot under the bushes. Think he was camera shy today. Also, maybe he was embarrassed.... We were all sniffing the same patch of green stuff - our noses to the ground and touching almost. THEN ...Sammy peed/marked the spot. BUT he actually peed on Chica's ear. Since it was raining, her ear probably got rinsed????!
We saw a Flicker in a dead tree on our walk. He was way up there & was watching us go by.
Getting ready to cross a bridge over part of the creek.
Had some good sniffs here too. I am trying to get Chica to move on. She's starting to do more sniffing than me & she does seem to enjoy a good sniff.
There were some pretty lilac & white flowers.
These logs & rocks had a lot of moss on them. Mom said it looked a bit like a rainforest...
More pretty flowers in the underbrush.
An old tree along the trail.
We had a really fun time even if it was raining the whole time. Mom took a quick video clip of us starting on our adventure. Everyone else musta stayed inside on this walk because we didn't see any other peeps or pups on the trail. Had it all to ourselves.
Later & have a fun day. Thanks for visiting.

Sunny Quiet Sunday

Hi furiends, It was quiet here EXCEPT M gave me & Chica baths & toenail trims today. It was fun cuz we get a treat when we are all done. This is a picture of pretty much all we did after our relaxing spa day. Sasha got her nails trimmed too but M can't get her in the tub. So... she will get to either wait for warmer weather and get washed with the hose in the yard or if she is lucky M will take her to the wash your dog yourself place for her spa time.

A quick video clip of Chica & me playing bitey face. It's our favorite game. Tug o war is a good one too.

We thought we was done for a while with fosters BUT we are getting another one. This one is maybe 6 months old and is a white miniature poodle. We can teach her the doggie ropes. Sasha can be her mentor probably. More later

Beach Walk

Hi everyone!!!! It's me Sasha. I finally got a chance to share in the posting. We got to go to the beach by us. I love it there! So does Ernie & now even Chica. So much water to play in. I like to swim but I also like to just walk around in it and find things. I have found fun stuff like half eaten pears, half of a tennis ball, stuff like that. Our friend Sammy came with us. Mom says he has a stick fetish. He loves to run, chase sticks and swim in the water after them. The bigger the stick the better. This one was kinda small.
Ernie & I going after a stick Mom threw. Sure wish she could throw them further. The tide was out a long ways. Just last week a Gray Whale was found on this beach. It was terrible. He was dead. When they did the necropsy thing on him they found awful stuff. He had swallowed towels, plastic stuff, cans & things. They didn't say all that stuff killed him but it couldn't have helped. Why do people throw stuff in the water like that????
Don't we look happy. Ernie running back into shore but I found something to sniff so had to take my time & find it.
We got to be without our leashes but Mom kept Chica on a long lead. Maybe after awhile she will get to run free too.
You can hardly see him but Ernie took off running after a flock of geese. He went way down the beach. He was only a little speck before he came running back.
Here we are sneaking up on them again. Oh, it was fun. They are fast and we never did get very close to them. Mom wouldn't let us get close enough to catch them. She calls us back. That kinda puts an end to our big chases.
It sure was fun. We even had a clam or two squirt water at us when we ran by them. That made us jump up a few times. Can't wait to go again.
Mom wanted a close up picture of all 3 of us. This was the best she could do. We just don't have time to stand still for a posed pic when we are at the beach. Doesn't she understand that??
Playing in the water. We ran in & out & in & out .........Chica just walked in it a a bit. Mom said that was good because when we first got her she didn't even like to get her tiny feet wet. Since hangin out with us she is getting to be more like a real dog.
Mom took a video clip of Chica helping her weed one of the flower beds. She is learning to be a dog. She was a big help showing Mom how to get that grassy stuff out of the flower bed.
Later. Have a fun day. Thanks for visiting us.

Discovery Park, Shelter Challenge, Adoption Event

Hi furiends, It's me Ernie. Finally back again. We want to thank all of you who voted for PUP in Issaquah in the Shelter Challenge. Without you we couldn't have gone as far as we did. Today is the last day for this challenge. We started late and were ranked about 2900 overall and 83 in the state of WA. As of this morning we are at 16 in WA and 755 in the overall rankings. The last couple of days we started voting for another rescue in Arlington, WA because they are at #3 in WA & 113 overall. The are called the Old Dog Haven and they take in older dogs. We also work with them and sometimes if they can't take a dog we will. So BIG thanks to all who have helped. ALSO, A new Challenge starts in about the middle of May and we are going to try starting out at the beginning. Maybe then we can make it even farther in the rankings. Mom was trying to take a pic of the beach & I climbed into her lap. She was sitting on a log. How do you like my closeup. She is always saying how hard it is to get a good pic of me since I am so dark. Well, I think she was proved wrong. Not sure if this is my best side though. On Friday we went to Discovery Park. It is a huge park in Seattle. It has lots of trails, and covers about 534 acres. Had lots of trails to choose from. In woodsy places, and along the beach. Chica checking out the sandy smells. She liked the warm sand.Sasha had to stay home because her hips were bothering her a bit and we were going to be going on a lonnnng walk. Mom promised her she could go the next time.
We found some artwork on the beach. Or maybe it was going to be a fort??? In the background you can see the snow on the Olympic Mountains. It was a great day to be out. This is a test. This picture has 2 animals. Can you tell what or where they are???
On the beach looking toward the lighthouse. Mom wanted a pic of it but when we got there it was all covered up. They were doing something called renovating... Should have been done but they must have found more stuff to do to it & it is taking longer than they thought. See the airplane...
These rocks were like stairs from the trail to the beach. I could just walk down & up them but Chica had to jump. She was a trooper Mom said.
Another beach pic.
A closer look at the float plane. We could wave to it. Actually we just watched, Mom and her friend took pictures.
Showing off the black spots on my tongue. Chica resting her tiny feet.
There they are!!! 2 ducks!! They were behind the branches. They were so beautiful. We didn't get a chance to chase them. Maybe next time??
PUP had another adoption event yesterday and 5 pups were adopted. WHooHoo!!
Hope all have a great weekend.

Quiet Monday

Hi furiends, Well, it got a bit quieter here yesterday. M & D took Nicky to meet some people who wanted her. We had to stay home but Grandma took good care of us. We can talk her out of treats. The family has 3 bipeds - 2 twin girls about 12 yrs & a boy about 9. Mom said it was love at first sight for the girls & Nicky. Mom got an email this morning and the family is VERY happy with her. She even has her very own CAT to play with. Mom said that when she said goodbye to Nicky, Nicky's eyes were at peace & she felt Nicky was telling her it was all good & that she (Nicky) was in her home. We heard she just curled into the girls on the 5 hour ride back home to Eastern WA. This is the first time in a few months that it has only been Sasha, Chica & me. WE have had fun playing & being out in the sunshine today. It'a different right now. WE have a feeling it won't be long before M brings home another little one. She is already talking & wondering who will be here next time. Don't know about her..... Mom here.... Thank you everyone who has been voting for us. The Challenge ends April 18 and that only gives us about 6 more days to vote. WhooHoo!!! This morning we moved up to 787 overall and to 17 in WA state. That's pretty darn good considering we started late & were about 2900 overall and 83 in WA. A lot of that movement I am sure is due to all your help. There is another challenge that starts in Mid May. May ask for your help with that one too. You did so good with this one.... WAGS & Thanks Ernie,Sasha,Chica & Mom

Wet Walk & Shelter Challenge

Hi furiends, We (Sasha & I) just got back from a long walkie. The 2 little ones stayed home becuz it was Cold & Windy & Rainy. We had some good sniffs & stuff but it was good to get back home. Becuz of the weather we avoided having to get our pics taken. Mom's hands were cold so she left the camera thingie in her pocket. Our little Chica ( maybe Piglet would be a better name) is a VERY fast eater. So the vet suggested we put rocks in her dish. BUT we had to make sure they were big as her head so she couldn't swallow them.
It worked. Now she really has to work hard & it takes her longer. It's like a treasure hunt for food. They have slowed her down and she doesn't choke on the food.
Mom took a video of the 4 of us eating. Don't know what is so exciting about that. But she says it is good we all eat together & there are no problems. Why would we have problems???
Anyhow all of us & Mom want to thank all of you who have been voting for us in the Shelter Challenge. As of this morning we had moved up to 852 in the overall ratings and we for some reason continue to sit at 19th place for the last 5 or 6 days. Don't know what is with that when the overall is moving up so well. The contest goes until April 18th. THANKS to all of you for helping us. We really do appreciateall you are doing!!!
Love & wags to you all
Ernie, Sasha,Chica & Nicky too

Stuff

Hi everybuddy, It has been a very busy few days & fun too. M & D's grandbipeds were here. Kept us busy. We went to the beach, they took pics of us and took us for walks. Sometimes all we wanted was a quiet time. Chica being cuddled by the little girl biped who thought she might be cold.
She took a picture of me - hope it is my best side.
Chica was eating a carrot when the she biped caught her facial expression. Pretty crunchy.
Edith's new forever pawrents sent our mom pics of Edith & Toni. They were adopted together on the same day. Toni is a blue longhair Chihuahua. Except he only has patches of hair. Mom tried to take a pic off the laptop screen so it is fuzzy. Edith is doing great & is starting to show them her cute personality and is following the Mom around and being her cute self. OH & her name is now Sam. Short for Samantha. The kids in the family changed her name after they read a book about a Samantha.
This is Roger an older Beagle who has graciously agreed to share his home & family with Edith & Toni. Way to go Roger!
While the grand bipeds were here we all went to the beach down the street from where we live.
Mom didn't get too many pics but this one shows the bipeds and Nicky.
Posing on the driftwood. Those 3 like having their pics taken. They were having lots of fun collecting shells & walking in the water & other beach stuff.
This is a pic of their Dad holding leashes for Sasha, Chica, & me. Too bad but we had to stay on our leashes this time. It was all good but better when we can run free & swim. This was the 1st time we took Chica &Y Nicky to the beach. Then we had the long climb back up the trail. This is one of our favorite places to visit that is close to home.
After our walk the 2 little girly pups curled up in the chair to rest. Chica is practicing sleeping on her head.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ARE VOTING. As of this morning we (PUP) are at 917 overall and 19 in the state of WA. You have all been such a big help in moving us up in the standings.
