It's been about 14 years.

Yesterday, I decided to go get some cloth at the fabric store. I didn't exactly know what I was looking for or what I was going to do. I took the kids and we were off. I found some really cute panda fabric and some really cute princess fabric. Cole wanted a blanket but he wants farm animals not pandas. He then decided that he would take the pandas. I wouldn't let him change his mind. We are looking for some nice farm animal fabric now. So I decided to make pillows for the kids. In my head, they would turn out so cute and really easy. But knowing how my crafting skills are, I knew that it would not be done as it would in my head and not turn out how I imagined. So I went to Linda for some help. I she helped me set up the sewing machine. I haven't been on one of those in 14 years. I was glad that I remembered some of it. She told me how to make the pillows (exactly how I was planning...nice surprise) and then I did it. They turned out cute (if you don't look at the stitching too close. There are definately places where it is not straight.) I am pleased and plan on another project soon.

The kids LOVED them. That in itself is what makes it all worth it.

From innocent to...

Look how sweet and inocent she is. The perfect little angel. She could do no wrong.

Now she is rolling over and enjoying her life a little more.

A little while later, she is learning to walk. She can get around and a little sneaky.

How did she go from being sneaky to a theif? I have to frisk her every time we leave any place. A few of the times I have forgotten and we have come home with a turtle from Holly's, a Sheep from Maury's, a carebear from church, tons of toys from Grandmom's, and a pink baseball from Walmart. You would think I would have noticed the baseball but I didn't. I didn't even notice it until the next day when we got into the car and she asked me to hand her the pink ball. I didn't. We went back to Walmart and returned it. We have returned all of her five finger discounts except the turtle. We are working on that, I just have to find it. I guess we need to get a handle on this before she turns 8! P.S. she is not crying from guilt, she is crying because she was caught!

Happy Birthday McKelle

Aug. 26th McKelle turned 1. She is a pretty cool chick. She is so laid back and easy going. Sage and Cole were way more excited about it than she was. Even when they turned 1, they were more excited about the balloons and party than McKelle was. But, Mckelle is the only one of my children who has eaten her birthday cake. McKelle started to stand up on her own without any help consistantly on her birthday. One time, she was up and decided to take a step. She kept her balance and then I was talking her into taking more. She took 2 more steps before she fell. I cheered for her. Will and Kim were sitting there with us and didn't even see it. They were surprised when I started clapping. When I asked them why they weren't watching they said they didn't realize what was going on. They heard me talking to her but didn't put it together. Man, that was the pits. Will has tried to get her to take some more steps since then but she won't. Serves him right not to pay attention to her on her birthday. Happy birthday to the sweetest little 1 year old out there. I wouldn't trade her for anything.

More zoo

Yeah, we go to the zoo like 50 times a year. But this was a very special occasion. Will came with us. Will's Aunt won a zoo package off of the radio and she gave it all to us. We went on a Sat. which Will was not too excited because he thought it would be so busy. I told him it wouldn't because the zoo is not worth $8.00 a person and so everyone goes on Wed. ($1.00 day). I don't think he believed me. But he was pleasantly surprised when there were only 3 other families there. Cole was so excited to show Will all of the animals. He talked about it the whole way up. "First, we will see the turtles. Have you ever seen the turtles, Dad? Then, the chimpansees, I bet you have never seen them have you?..." It has been about 16 years since Will has been there so I think he enjoyed his personal guide. All Sage could talk about were the parrots. She was so excited to show her Dad the parrots. And they even talked to us that day. It was fun.
