Summer of Color Grand Finale - warning! Long Post

So as you know, I have been playing in the Summer of Color Challenge over at Kristin's blog, Twinkle Twinkle Like a Star.  For the end, we are having a show and tell.  So i have really been struggling with how I wanted to do this and I finally decided on this mini album.  As usual, I was browsing on YouTube for an unusal way to display my projects and I found this fabulous little album page that Elsa from Just a Few Designs created herself.  I recently found Elsa on a blog hop, I think, and she just has some amazing ideas and fun projects.  If you go to her wegsite, there is a link for her YouTube.  This is called her Mini One Page Binding album and I just love it.

Okay, now for the pictures.  I wish I could do a video of this because it would be so much easier to show it, but I do not own a video camera except for my digital camera and I have not a clue how to turn those videos into something here.  So there a lot of pictures but i will make most of them small.

Here is the album put together.  Was not sure the ribbons were going to work, but i really like them and it works great!  My next toy is going to have to be some kind of album binder like a Cinch :)
Another picture of it kind of fanned out.  That flower i made from another Youtube video from pinkaboo6691.  She said she got it from http://www.dawnsstampingthoughts.net/.  I am not sure the name of the flower.  But it is so easy and i made it using all 8 of the colors we used for the challenge.
Here are all 8 pages on the front side.
 and the back side

And then these next pictures show some of the pages opened up to show the projects inside

I added tags with color quotes on them in the little pockets created with the album pages.

This is the inside of the front cover so you can see the paper I used for the inside cover - has all of the colors we used except for purple.  Here you can also see how pretty the ribbons look holding the book together!

So i hope you like my final project for Summer of Color!  i actually really love it and plan to make more of these little albums - they are perfect!  I am going to miss this weekly challenge, but guess what!? We will be doing it again next year!  Yay!  Thanks to Kristin and all of her helpers for putting this together.

God Bless and Hugs,
Becky

Reminder

Hey friends,
I went over to Deanne's Creative Juice yesterday to cast my votes for the Krazy Kard Swap and it would appear nobody else has voted!  You don't have to vote for my cards of course, but there are some great cards over there.  Please go and vote!  Here is the link Krazy Kard Swap.  There are only 10 cards I think so it won't take long!

God Bless,
Becky

My First Blog Hop!

I am so excited and nervous at the same time!  I have been wanting to participate in a blog hop for a while but too chicken, so when one of my favorite online stamp stores,  Belles and Whistles decided to do a customer hop, I jumped at the chance. I am still nervous though.  So here is the information you need to know:

Welcome to the Belles ‘n Whistles “All Customer Blog Hop”  We are so excited to be a part of this special release.   Along this hop you will find those new releases.  And we, as customers of Belles ‘n Whistles, get to play along using any of our favorite BnW Stamps…
Today we are celebrating  the rebirth of the darling SweetArt girls designed by none other than Artist Elisabeth Bell.  Belles ‘n Whistles now has a total of 17 SweetArt girls in their store.  They were just too beautiful to be left sitting in the archives.  Elisabeth Bells talent deserves better than storage, don’t you think?

If you have just popped in, it would be great if you started in the beginning, and hopped along with us. You will find the master list of participants over on the
Belles ‘n Whistles Inspirational Blog.  To keep things easy, please follow that list and leave a comment on each blog.  Do you know why?  Because YOU could win a stamp from Belles ‘n Whistles, just for leaving some love along the way.  There will be FIVE winners chosen randomly from comments that have been left along the way.  No one knows who’s blog the winners will come from.

So sit back, grab a cup of coffee, tea, or Lemonade and enjoy all the fun and exciting things we, the Belles ‘n Whistles Customers, have to share with you today.
------------

So now for my projects!

This little SweetArt Girl reminds me so much of me as a child, although I must admit i would have been UP in the tree reading my book more often than down on the ground :)  I just got this stamp just in time for this hop and of course I put her on a Corner Bookmark, the instructions for which I got from Splitcoast Stampers.
This is another of my favorite Elisabeth Bell's stamps - Fairy Thoughts.  The flowers at the top I recently won and the buttons are from my stash - the faceted button was also won but it has been a while :)

This is the first time I have made a shaped easel card.  I found a YouTube video on this from valitasfreshfolds.blogspot.com.  The flowers I made with instructions from another YouTube video from pinkaboo6691.  Now she says she got it from http://www.dawnsstampingthoughts.net/.  I subscribe to Dawn's newsletters and she has some wonderful projects both on her blog and YouTube.  So anyway, I made these flowers and they were so easy peasy!  I put this cute little fairy on a wobble and blinged up the wings on both the fairy and the dragonfly with stickles.

I hope you like my projects and that I did not lose you half way thru due to the long post.  After all, this is a hop!  So get hopping friends!  I am going to do the same :)

Becky

Summer of Color - orange #2

Here is my second project for the Summer of Color - orange challenge over at Kristin's blog.  For this one, I made a Kirigami box with a Sugarplum flower on top.  Both of these were done using tutorials from Vicky at Simply Paper and Creativity.  I am telling you, this girl has so many fun tutorials and easy!  Now I admit this is the first time I have attempted either one of these, but I like how it turned out so I am entering it into the challenge.

This paper looks pretty yellow in the picture but I promise it is orange :)  The ribbon is from the dollar store again, paper is from K and company I believe, the base of the box which you cannot see is just a solid orange that matches the dark polka dots.  My flower is not nearly as pretty as Vicky's and I think it needs to be more poofed so will try again but this will give you an idea.  Definitely check out her blog - the tutorials are on the right-side bar and she has some fabulous flowers there!  I will definitely make more of these!

Hope you enjoy my orange projects :)

Becky

Summer of Color - Orange #1

Almost finished with the Summer of Color Challenges :(  That makes me so sad.  I have really enjoyed the weekly challenges with the different colors.  So this next to last week, we are using orange.  Bonus was given for using our favorite quote.  Well, I decided to make a corner bookmark with my 13 yo daughter's favorite quote.  I used the corner bookmark tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers.   Papers were in my stash, the kind of polka-dotted orange is from Creative Memories, the ribbon is from the dollar store - gotta love that!

So i hope you like this.  I have another orange projects to post also, without a quote :)

Hugs and God Bless,
Becky

Krazy Kard Swap #2

My second card for Deanne's Krazy Kard Swap - please see the post below for all the details!

This card, i also used fabric on - I rediscovered in my quilting stash these little squares that were already cut with pinking shears into squares.  I matched them up with papers from 7 Gypsies and some yarn I had in my yarn stash (yes i have too many hobbies), a couple of fabulous buttons, which are not krazy but I liked it, and it was finished.  I love this paper from 7 Gypsies - it is so crazy in itself that i had to use it.  I am usually more of a soft, shabby type but this paper really fires the imagination!  I won it recently from Hannahs Paper Crafts Design Team Blog on a monthly drawing!

Ok, so i hope you like my cards!  And i hope Dusti likes them too as that is who they are being sent to.  Oh by the way, starting August 10, you can go over to Deanne's Creative Juice and vote for the cards you like the best.  You don't have to vote for mine of course.  There will be lots to choose from!

Hugs and God Bless,
Becky

Krazy Kard Swap #1

Happy Monday!  I joined in on a Krazy Kard Swap over at Deanne's Creative Juice.  This is the first swap i have ever done and was not really sure what was supposed to be krazy.  So I made cards with unusual products.  Not sure everyone will think they are crazy but they are definitely krazy compared to my usual style :)  But I think I kind of like this style so I may do more!

So first up...  I found this fabric square in my quilting stash and immediately thought of the new stamps I just got from Kristal Andrews from Getting Cricky!  I just love her stamps - love Kristal too!  She gives money to charity for each stamp set - a different charity for each one - and i just love to support her!  So I used this little stamp from Fashionable Friends set.  I used my Cricut with the Forever Young cart to make the girl and a couple of extra hats to add to her confusion :o

Will be back in a minute with the second card!
Hugs and God Bless,
Becky
