We spent the morning of President's day as a family riding some friendly 4-legged animals.
Rocky, the horse, was great with the kids, but was awfully funny about coming home. He would start trotting faster and faster into a gallop once he knew he was turned around to go back home. Not a big deal for the three younger kids since Jim was leading Rocky, but Regan rode by herself. She got the ride of her life when Rocky took off sprinting toward home, and amazingly she stayed on, even around the sharp corner of the driveway. You see, her feet weren't long enough to reach the stir-ups, so all she had to hang on to were the reins and saddle horn. So many tears and cries of, "Rocky, stop!! Rocky, stop!!" and, "Pull back, Regan, pull back!!" We were so glad she was all right. In the end, she got right back on Rocky to show him who was boss! Phew!
