Read, like there won't be a movie.
Game, like the dice rolls don't matter.
Dream, like there is no tomorrow.

Climate Versus Weather

Looks like WASF with a good chance of being able to FOAD.

It's Really Tough These Days...

There is Climate...

...and there is Weather.  Please get familiar with both words and their meanings before saying something rash.  Like, oh, Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.) for example.  And please, don't parrot talking points that don't have facts backing them up -- flying your 'I'm stupid' flag is not the same as flying your freak flag.

All's Well That's Orwell...

First there is this.

Then came this.

Ok, so 1984 was just a rough sketch.

I'm Back

Took a break there after that last post.  Requalified for this, and got a few other real world things done while offline.  I'll try to be back to daily posting, but I won't promise to do so.

I've got nothing...

Taking the weekend off the 'net -- it's been a long week, and I'm bushed.

Piggy Banked

Got a green piggy bank sometime last year, and started to toss my change in it at the end of the day. Opened it up this last weekend, and emptied it out. Being lazy, I went to the grocery store, and waltzed up to the Coinstar with the loot for it to count. Reading the display, I found out that it charges nearly 10% for the conversion of coin to paper money. Yikes! *BUT* if I were to have my coin transformed into a gift card, the fee would be waived. Being the almost smart guy that I am, I figured this would be the way to go. Coins went in, and at the end of the process, I had some $24+ on a receipt for an Amazon.com gift card. I got on my computer, put the code into my account, and began to browse the store. You know where this is going, right? Yes, a short time later (and about $7 more), there were two books ordered. At least the shipping was free. Books are here, and added to the 'to read when I have spare time' pile.
