new summer look

Where is Madison?
Well we decided that our blog needed a new summer look so we have spiffed it up a bit.

The REAPWBC site says that some of the people on the Peru trip have gotten some virus. We are praying that they all get better soon and that it isn't too serious. Mom, hope you didn't get it but you do catch things easily. Hope it isn't a stomach bug, ooh on a boat yuck.

Well we will be going to Texas very soon and I must say I am ready to breathe some Texas air. Its like what they say about A&M, from the outside looking in you can't understand it and from the inside looking out you just can't explain it. Texas just has this draw to me, and I love every minute I get to spend there these days since they are few and far between. So love and prayers to all.

Beach Day

We decide to take a day trip to St. Augustine on Saturday. When we got their we had some lunch and Chris dropped Madison and myself off at one of the outlet malls and he headed over to the World Golf Village. We both did a little shopping and then went over to Vilano Beach. Luckily we hadn't planned to spend the whole day on the beach because Madison hated it. She just screamed and screamed. The waves were too loud for her and she didn't want the sand on her feet, which is difficult to do on the beach. So we took a few photos to commemorate the moment and cleaned up for dinner. We tried a restaurant that one of the guys from the golf store recommended but it wasn't worth the $$$. It was the Saltwater Cowboy, the atmosphere was great but the food was hit and miss. I really wouldn't recommend it but we did have fun and it was a beautiful view of the inter coastal marshlands. After dinner we drove back to Gainesville and got home around 11:30. Madison wasn't feeling to well, she got shots earlier last week and apparently the "live" shots are now giving her a fever, hopefully this will soon pass. She has slept almost all day today. Hope this finds you all doing well and enjoying the weekend.
Love and Prayers!

Mom in Peru

Well my Mom will be off to Peru for the second time in just a few days.

Mom, I will be praying that God will use you as His tool and that He will keep you safe and healthy. We love you and we know that you will have a great time. We can't wait to see you when you get back and when we get to come to Texas for our visit.

So we thank our friends and family for their prayer support.

two new favorite things

We have had a good week and weekend. We were smoke free a few days and Madison got to play in her new baby pool. She loved that! We also went to a church social Friday night and both Madison and her parents were finally able to make some friends in Gainesville. Good people actually do live here in Gainesville, we were starting to wonder.

As you will see below Madison has two new favorite things: Oreo cookies and her John Deere cap. She got to try an Oreo Saturday night and loved it and Saturday she also decided that if Daddy can were hats so can she. Daddy just prefers she slobber all over her own hat rather than his.

May is almost over and we are anxiously awaiting our June trip to Texas, we wish Daddy was coming too but he will be very busy at work. So that's all for now, but keep our Mom and Grandma in your prayers as she prepares for her big trip to Peru. Hasta la vista abuela! Sea abuela segura. ( See you later Grandma! Be safe Grandma.)

Mother's Day 2007

I had a very Happy Mother's Day, we went to church as a family and Madison gave me two very special gifts from her Sunday School class, the poem and decorated self portrait below. It may seem funny but that was the best gift I could receive, my first little craft project gift from Madison. Oh what a difference a year makes, last year we were sending Daddy off to Missouri for what ended up being almost 6 months. Thankfully this year we didn't have to worry about that. And look at the difference in Madison's photos from this year to last. The simple things in life matter most these days and these really are the happiest days of my life so far. We missed being with our own Mother's but their love is always in our hearts. So we hope you and your loved ones had a special day as well, with special prayers to our Grafton cousins who were in our thoughts and prayers on this difficult first Mother's Day without our dear Andrea. God Bless!

Birthdays don't get much better...

Well birthdays don't get much better then the one I just had. Saturday morning I got up and feed Madison breakfast and off to the day spa I went. Chris stayed home with Madison while I was treated to a massage and facial, it was all very relaxing. Then I came home and had some lunch with Madison and we had an afternoon of playtime. Chris came home from work and we went to dinner at a very nice local steakhouse, the food was great. We did have to fight the graduation crowd but we had call ahead seating and only waited about 20 minutes. So I must say that a spa gift was definitely the way to go. Plus as I get older the more I realize that I really already have the things that I want most; a great husband, a beautiful daughter, a wonderful family and extended family plus I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ who could ask for anything more.
