learning how to use the potty

Well this is one of those pictures that every child wonders, why did you take that? But in order to capture life's real moments sometimes a photo is a must.

Well as you can tell we have begun the potty training process, Madison has thought the potty was a big water fountain or water park in the bathroom for quite sometime so it became necessary to show her what the potty is really for. She loves her potty seat and stool not in the photo. We just have to work on the timing issues, she waits until she has just used her diaper to say "Mommy I pottied" and then she runs to the the toilet. We are getting their though. We bought a small package of Dora pull ups and we call them panties, she loves them and does a little dance every time she wears them. Oh the simple things in life. The other day we were at Ross and I found some little Ariel panties in 2T and thought they might fit once she gets the hang of this and I showed them to her and we bought them. She cried when I took them away from her to pay and then wanted to carry them in the stroller while at our next store. So at least she is excited about the process.

Madison and I have some more girl time coming up next week as Chris is going on another hunting trip. Hopefully he will actually see something to get this time.

We also want to thank God for protecting Christina and Chloe (sister in law and niece) they were in a very bad car accident yesterday and they are both OK despite being badly bruised and banged up, we pray that the other 85 year old woman that hit them is OK too.

God is so good.

Love and prayers to all.

fun in the yard

Chris is out of town on a hunting trip so it has just been us girls. This morning it was really nice out so we played in the front yard a little while. Madison rode her bide, played on her slide and checked out the nature, passing vehicles and airplanes. I just can't believe that she will be two in a month. I still remember her in my belly, heck sometimes I feel like I still look pregnant. Then I also think about all the great stuff we have watched her learn how to do on her own. I know before we know it she will be riding off on a bike without any help from us. She is so fun to be around and sometimes it cracks us up how her little mind comes up with the cutes things to say. We haven't talked about her birthday yet but we will definately have to do something fun, maybe Disney while she is still free and we get the Florida resident discount, have to check the funds on that one.
It was great getting everyone's Christmas cards, if you miss us I won't hold it against you just put us on the list for next year. I love getting cards and I especially love to see all the different types of photo cards, to see how everyone has changed. Well until I blog again Happy January.

a forever friend

Madison and I were so thankful to be able to spend some time with one of my best friends Catina and her daughter Alyssa. Catina and I have been friends for a long time and we are enjoying being able to watch our daughters play as friends together as well. Catina is a true friend we have never had an arguement or cross words and that is saying a lot since our friendship began in middle school. We lived in the same neighborhood, car pooled together, went on church mission trips and had sleep overs. We even had sewing projects together, that yes we did complete and wear. Not to mention stood up for each other on our wedding days. I thank God for a true forever friend like Catina, everyone should have a friend like her! Love you Catina and I can't wait to meet baby boy Skiles too!

Christmas review

We had a great Christmas in Texas with both of our families. Madison had a blast between the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, dogs and gifts. She also began to talk up a storm, she will carry on full conversations with you. Wow how time flys! Madison is so excited with all of her toys now that we are home. On the drive home I started feeling not so great and it continue about a day and a half after we returned but I didn't have to worry about Madison she was busy introducing her old toys to her new toys, they are all well acquainted now as she is quite insistent that they be spread out all together all over the living room floor. She is also well on her way to becoming an excellent wife some day, I will have to post this picture below as well. Madison got a kitchen from her Grandma and PaPa Gillette and a Dirt Devil Jr from her Grammy and Grandpa Bowers and she was able to multi-task at cooking and vacuuming. Wow! (Pardon the hair this is about 10 minutes after she got out of bed)

We are so thankful for the blessing of 2007, watching our daughter grow, making friends and playmates in Gainesville, Chris' project, and our finances continuing to allow me to stay home. We spent some great times with family and friends and the Lord has kept our relatives in harms way safe. What a mighty God we serve and how blessed we truly are to call Him our Savior.

Happy New Year everyone!
