Business Trip

IMG_1936

Today Chris is flying to Texas, for work, to see if he can help shave 15 million dollars off a potential new project for his company.  I myself  am very hopeful because you see this is one of the next jobs that Chris may manage if his company can get the customer to approve the contract bid.  You can take the girl out of Texas but you can't take the Texas out of the girl.  I would love to move closer to home for Madison to finally have the chance to at least live close to one set of Grandparents and extra relatives are a plus.  So Chris is leaving our 78 degree weather and headed towards flurries, freezing rain, black ice, and a low of 27 degrees.  Despite the deteriorating weather conditions Chris should have a good trip because most of the potential new customers are Texas A&M Aggie engineers so he will be in heaven with people to discuss all things Aggie.  That is what we call "Good Bull."  My prayer is that God would place an extra dose of His protection and guidance on Chris this next few days and that God's will be done.  Of course I will be a little sad if this project doesn't get a green light but after the last five years I think I am ready for almost anything.  So if you think of this week we ask that you would pray with us as we wait upon the Lord for our next assignment with eager anticipation.  I can't wait to get the report back on this project "deep in the heart of Texas."  (Waxahachie, Midlothian, and Corsicana)

*BEEP* Low battery

Well that is actually the annoying sound that the talking smoke alarm is making 15 feet up in the air in the living room but it also describes how my body feels after a week of dealing with stomach viruses.  Luckily the beep started at 9:00 am and not at 5:00 or something.  I am not going to even attempt at changing it on my own so we will deal till noon when Chris comes home for lunch.

Well Madison finally made it through the night with out getting sick in her bed.  However, she did still wake up three different times, but at least we are making progress.  So hopefully my body can continue to catch up on rest and energy.  I am glad its freezing outside because that gives me another good excuse to stay in comfy clothes and just sit on the couch or play with Madison, even though she still wants to play outside.

Thanks to my Mom's inspiration yesterday I made some yummy hamburger stew.  It was pretty easy and oh did it hit the spot, leftovers are definitely a must for lunch today.

Well my child is wanting to do cartwheels in the living room.  Where does she get this energy, wish I could bottle it and sell it as the fountain of youth or something.

Thank you George and Laura

From one Texas family to another we would just like to say thank you for your service and devotion to the great State of Texas and this great nation we are so blessed to call home, The United States of America.  I am sure it hasn't been easy living in Washington D.C . with all eyes on you judging every move you made knowing the media would put some spin on it.  Thank you for being a man of faith in our oval office.  May God continue to bless you and your family.

The Sickies continue

Well after yesterday and last night I feel as though I have washed every towel, washcloth, bed linen, and outfit in or near Madison's room not to mention scrubbing the carpet.  I hope this passes quickly because I don't think I can sleep in the bed with her again tonight.  She is a major kicker and I won't name names but she gets it from a few of my close female relatives I would have to say.  Oh and this is for Bek, she kept holding my hand and patting my face, so sweet since she is the sick one but I am trying not to get the germs.  So if you read this and think of us, please pray Madison gets better quickly.  I am sick of cleaning up after it.  Yuck.

Oh and I made her pose so my post wouldn't be picture-less.  She even looks so pitiful in the photos yet still beautiful as ever.

The Sickies

Well today Madison has had a case of the sickies and most definitely not the fun kind.  During breakfast she told me her tummy had a boo boo she lifted her shirt and showed me a week old scratch that is practically heeled and I kissed it and said yes and its almost better.  I asked her if her tummy hurt inside and she looked at me like I was a space alien.  So I ran to Walgreens for an errand and she did fine.  She has a runny nose but our weather has just switch from mid 70's back to mid 50's and she has allergies like the rest of us so I really haven't fussed much with it besides telling her to go get a Kleenex.  I would get it no problem but she must do everything herself these days, trust me I could do it must faster.  Well anyways we were playing together in her playroom when she coughed once like no big deal and then projectile vomited everywhere Barbie pink puke.  Oh I forgot to mention that I gave her a kids pepto pill when we got home from Walgreens, don't think I will do that again.  So I quickly got her to the bathroom to finish in the potty and strip her down.  She then thinks it play time to run around naked while I figure out how to clean up the mess.  Then I have to bathe her to get the smell off her and out of her hair.  Then she sits with me on the couch for a little while and decides she is hungry, so I let her eat some crackers.  Then knowing it is almost nap time she says she has to eat some "real food."  Nice play on my own words Madison I will remember that when you are a teenager.  So I let she have a banana and made her so lay down.  She slept for about an hour and a half which was shy of her normal 2 to 3 hour nap.  But I convinced her to sit on the cough and rest her tummy.  She has informed me that she will never throw up again because it tastes yucky.  Honey wish it was only that easy.  But we seem to be on the mend just wanted to share the fun that I have had today.  In the new Esther bible study I started last night from Beth Moore she gave us homework to list three things that make being a woman hard.  I think my first one is going to be having to clean up someone else's puke.

PS Here is a picture of the fun dollhouse we were playing with.  Thank the good Lord we were not in the living room on my favorite run, that would have been really hard to clean.
