Crock pot beef stroganoff. Three cans cream of mushroom soup, a cup of fat free sour cream, half cup of water, a packet of onion soup mix, two pounds of beef (I used top round but stew meat would've probably been better...), three hours on high or 6-8 on low. It was gooooooooood!

Chicken with Apple & Cider sauce over noodles. Another *relatively* low point Weight Watchers dinner. This was Josh's portion (he needs more carbs than I do) because mine wasn't so photo-friendly.

January 25, 2010

Pasta fra Diavolo. The last time that I made this for us, I put the amount of crushed red pepper in it that the recipe called for. BIG mistake - too freakin' spicy!! Neither Josh nor I could eat it. Then I found this tasty Weight Watchers recipe that was super low in points: 1 point for the sauce (I don't know why since it was pretty much just tomatoes...) and 2 for the whole wheat noodles. I actually got Josh to eat WHOLE WHEAT NOODLES! And mom, do you see?? There are ONIONS in the sauce! And I ate it!

January 24, 2010

Okay, this really isn't vomit on a plate, I promise. It's actually a very tasty crockpot recipe: chicken with stuffing. The chicken breasts go on the bottom, top it with cream of mushroom soup, then put stuffing mix and broth on top, and a few hours later, tender, juicy, tasty chicken! Again, served on our Klassy dixie plates. This whole cooking at home thing is nice, and it's a great way for me to experiment with different foods, but since it's just Josh and I eating, it takes a while for us to fill up the dishwasher. Soooooo, rather than handwash plates, we bust out the paper. We're too refined though to actually use plastic flatware.

Michelle's baby shower day. Her baby boy is due March 18th. Let's hope she goes full-term!

January 22, 2010

This is what you see driving down Watt Avenue on a weekend night. Thankfully (I'm sure), I had my camera with me. If you can't read what's on his window, it says "F dubs, I got pipes." Yes, yes you do. You also have what appears to be a once-pink flamingo dragging from your bumper too. Moron.

January 21, 2010

Hand-made sugar hand scrub favors for Michelle's baby shower. With all of the sugar and spices that went into making these, the day that see sugar or smell nutmeg will be too soon... And just when you think you've cleaned it all up, little granules keep appearing. You're lucky I love you, Michelle! ;)

January 20, 2010

Polenta-Style Corn Casserole. Made in the crockpot, of course. :) With all of the rain we've been having this week, it was a nice, warm comfort food.

January 19, 2010

Chicken fajitas with a chop salad. Served on our fancy Dixie plates.

I think these Project 365 pictures are turning into "What I Ate For Dinner"....

January 18, 2010

This dinner was only 8 WW points!

January 17, 2010

My happy boys! Had I known they'd be content playing with a water jug filled with kibble, we could've saved a TON on dog toys! And no, gramma, that blue bone wasn't placed there for effect. They've torn into that too!

January 16, 2010

Who wants to come over for breakfast?

January 15, 2010

After a year (literally) of asking, Josh finally gets his spicy lasagna. I used ground beef and spicy sausage for the meat sauce and used pepper jack and mozzarella for the cheeses. After cooking, Josh added sliced jalapenos to the top of his piece.

January 14, 2010

My little heater hogs! Sometimes their tails or ears will actually be in between the bars of the heater thing and they'll sleep right thru it. I don't know how they do it because that thing gets HOT.

January 13, 2010

Mmmmmmm.....Tin Roof Sundae. As it turns out, we started eating healthy again and ended up tossing the rest of the carton after we'd each had a bowl.

Who uses 500 spoons?? Why, we do!

More of the chili pepper gifts!

UPDATES! UPDATES!!

I've finally updated our blog!! Scroll down, and go to the previous page, for all entries. Sorry!!

January 10, 2010

Crock pot chili!! It took 2.5 hours to cook in the crock pot and came out amazing! Paired it with some Marie Callendar's corn bread and Josh said it was the best chili he's ever had. Now, I don't know if that's true but it was pretty darn good!

January 8, 2010

What's wrong with this picture??? NO LICENSE PLATE IS WHAT IS WRONG!!! Some piece of crap person actually STOLE Josh's plate some time between when he got home on Thursday night and when he got home on Friday night. And because it was a vanity plate and it was reported stolen, we can't get the same one. Ever. So now we have to go down to the DMV, give them all of the CHP info, and get new ones. Vanity, of course. Now what to get...what to get...? And you can see my pretty pink jammie pants in the reflection! Okay, so what, I do have my jammie pants on 98% of the time when I'm at home.... HA!

Pork chops in a cream of mushroom-wine sauce, with rice and wilted veggies. YUM!

January 6, 2010

No, we're not feeding a Japanese army. It's for the dogs. We're cutting Legion's protein intake...again....because he's limping....again... I never thought I'd actually hate something so innocuous as rice but when it's stuck EVERYWHERE in the house, I can't help it.

January 5, 2010

Mmmmmmmmmmm.....apple crisp.............

January 4, 2010

Homemade chicken corn chowder from an awesome cookbook that Josh got me for Christmas. I used the leftover chicken from the roasted chicken we had a couple of days ago, added a few more ingredients to the pan, and voila!! This whole cooking at home every night thing isn't so bad.

January 3, 2010

Chopping peppers on my new pepper cutting board! I've been eyeing something like this for a very long time and Josh's mom (and dad too, I'm sure!) picked out a ton of awesome chili pepper stuff for *our* kitchen as a Christmas gift.

January 2, 2010

It's a baby turkey!! I found a reeeeeeeaaaaaally good roasted chicken recipe. Just rub on a little salt, garlic powder, and rosemary. Roast in a pan in the oven. And enjoy the moist-y goodness.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Santa brought me this for me for Christmas and I was very excited to use it for the first time. It makes quick work out of onions which means no more crying while chopping for me!!

December 31, 2009

Last day of the year!!

Poor Mr. Monkey... This was one of Abbi's favorite toys. He used to have stuffing, wiggly arms, more hair, and a tongue that would uncurl when squeezed. He'd since been loved on so much that he lost all of those things and somewhere along the line, he became a tug toy. Until today...when he was tugged so hard that he lost a limb. We'll miss you Mr. Monkey. No more Abbi Monkey Face...

December 30, 2009

Updated dog butt picture. Abbi and Hayden are still maintaining their weights of 70 and 60 pounds, respectively, but the Monster is getting HUGE! At last weigh-in, he was 93 pounds...and seven months old.

December 29, 2009

BAD ABBI!!! No, not really. This is Crouching Dog, Hidden Abbi. She likes to hide under the kitchen table while we're preparing their dinner. Like we can't see her, or something! Crazy dog!!

December 28, 2009

A breakfast that will rival most human breakfasts! Kibble, banana, eggs, pineapple, and rice.

December 27, 2009

We've been on a hot cocoa kick lately. A hot mug, a blanket, a dog (or three!) laying with us, the hubs, and a cheesy movie are all things that you'll find in our house on a Friday or Saturday night.

December 26, 2009

Me being artsy-fartsy with my camera and our space heater.

December 25, 2009

Little Noelle. She got this pretty pink outfit for Christmas and was loving it. While I wasn't able to got to Big Gramma's for her Christmas, Josh was able to take plenty of pictures to show me.

December 24, 2009

The little buddies! These two are so fun to have around. Not that Abbi isn't fun....she's just a different, more prissy, sort of fun... Hayden and Legion play hard together and then crash hard together. It's like having two 8 year old boys running through the house, not caring what sort of carnage lies in their wake.

December 23, 2009

Hayden and Legion annihilating the bubble wrap!

December 22, 2009

GASP!! I actually baked cookies. And they turned out pretty cute too!
