'11 Snow Trip

I have to confess that when I typed in the title, it was "'11 Snot Trip" until I noticed it on the last review. OOPS!

Josh and I took our annual snow trip on the 12th of March. Hey, better late post than never, right?? The weather was really nice this year and we had a clear ride up. The boys even got to ride in the back of the truck because it wasn't terribly cold. Abbi, of course, got to ride in the cab with us. We tried to hit Donner Rest Stop but we just had to take the signs at their word that it was there because there was so much so that we couldn't see the building!! So off to Donner Lake we went.

We're so glad we found the little stretch of beach down by the lake because the dogs love it. Well, Abbi doesn't. I think she hates snow. She walks through it like it's paining her. OH! Maybe it is!! Great, now I'm forcing her to be in pain. Nah, that dog won't do anything she doesn't want to. I think it's because it's cold and wet, two things she hates to be.

Since there was so much snow, we had to trudge down a sizeable hill but had no idea how deep the snow actually was. Josh took the two boys and found out real quickly just how deep it was: armpit deep. He was walking down, walking down, then: WHOOMP! He sunk down in the snow up to his elbows. I couldn't do anything but LAUGH at him from the top of the hill, where I was standing with Abbi. Hayden and Legion were so anxious to go play in the snow and in the water that they actually helped pull Josh out of the snow. Abbi and I chose a much smarter route down the hill and joined the boys.

Here are the pictures from the day. Abbi hardly played at all so we had to make sure that we took pictures of her otherwise my parents would accuse us of either not taking her, or favoring the boys. She's such a spoiled brat-face dog!

First one in the water!!

Legion and his sticks...

These two are inseperable!

See! Abbi really was there!!

This is her "I hate you" face.

The crazy kids!

And some art-sy pics.

I wish I could take credit for this...but I can't...

It was such a nice day with the family. It makes us so happy to see the dogs running around like this: so happy and completely enjoying themselves. Days like these are few and far between since Josh is gone so much. So I think that we make sure that the time we do get to spend together is much more meaningful.
