Friends of "P"

My old college roommate and cosmic friend, Sarah Boyle Oliver (with cosmically cute baby Addison) came to town last week! We were able to rendezvous in Plano and squeeze each others babies! She is such a dear friend and the first one I made in Provo while looking for a way to get to church the first week I was there. (you see I was ALONE in my apartment! As a freshman!) So I went next door, trolling for a friend. We were a little wary of each other that first Sunday; she keep messing with her shirt (hiding hickies I might add) and I had this nervous tick where I would open and close my hand like a weirdo. We had many adventures together! I have yet to find a workout any better than our Wednesday nights at Club Omni! She also saved my sad wardrobe, helping me design slick skirts and dresses for church. Anyhoo, I included some pictures of ye old days for fun!

What cute blue eyed babies!

Us then...

And now!

I feel so blessed to have a creator who continues to put people in my path on this earth that make me a better person and bring me joy! Elder Bateman talked once at a devotional how there are people in our lives whose paths criss cross ours through time like a spiderweb. He remarked how that is one of the things that makes life rich. It has been over 10 years now and we can saddle up and start talking like we haven't missed a beat. BTW, Sarah went back to school and got her design degree and has the cutest shop on Etsy http://akaoliver.blogspot.com/

I'm offically a soccer mom!

Ian started his first season of soccer a few weeks ago! The team and coach have been great although both of us have been shocked an amazed that he "barely made the cut off" before being shunned from any soccer success forever. At the age of 5!!!

Gavin was a great cheerleader despite being bundled up to stay warm in the 20 degree windchill outside. He loved that is was OK to scream his head off!

Ok, he didn't make the goal, but pretty great for his first game, eh? Anybody recognize the shrill screams in the background?

I'm dreaming of a white...Spring Break!?

Ian's dreams finally came true when last Thursday, the Dallas area was blanketed with snow! We got a good four inches and Denton got as many as eight! This is the second time it has snowed in the last couple of weeks and I have given up on attempting to switch out everybody's clothes for the spring. Welcome to Texas!

So it begins...

Ian lost his first tooth and I can't believe he is growing up so fast! We had a moment when I told him I remembered when he got that tooth as a baby and he sensed I was feeling a little sentimental and he hugged me. What a sweet guy!
The whole process was a little traumatic when he bit on something at Chick-fila only to realize moments later it was his tooth! Reassuring him that we could correspond with the tooth fairy and let her know what happened he relaxed a bit about getting his moola. However, said tooth fairy forgot to leave money that night creating trauma the following morning and it took some quick thinking and slight of hands to get that dollar under the pillow! Pathetic, I know. I can only hope we get better with time or atleast that at some point I don't feel like I have been hit with a tranqualizer dart the minute I put the kids to bed!
