today after getting home from work and then
running a few errands with cailin i had a list
of things to do, but cailin really didn't want to
go inside from getting out of the car. i kept thinking
of the things i wanted to accomplish before eating
dinner and putting her to bed, but decided to push
those things to the side to appease my sweet 2 year old.
i'm SO glad i did. she was so happy to be outside. we
haven't been doing much of that since the weather has been
soooo crappy here lately. really really hot and humid with lots
of storms. today we had a bit of a reprieve from the too hot weather
and it was bearable to spend more than 2 minutes outside. cailin
first played in daddy's truck, then ran around the back yard
and played on her swing set, then took off down the driveway
and started running down our street. i patiently followed her and
let her do what she wanted. we ended up taking a 25 minute walk
around our neighborhood and i let her chose which direction we would
go in when there was a choice to be made. she loved it and i loved being
able to see her so happy and having so much fun. i know she won't always
be 2 and won't always want to hang out with me so i ended up being really
happy that i set those annoying tasks aside to watch my little girl have a fun
time with her mama where she called the shots. i plan on doing that more often.
she loved seeing her shadow and would point and say
saadoooow saadooow. over and over.
i started walking backwards to that i could get
a pic of her cute face, but she too quickly turned around
to copy me and walk backwards as well.
so happy. i love her new smile!
