Our Second Anniversary!

Here are some pictures of our second anniversary! When I woke up the morning of August 25, 2008, Brad had "our song" playing with a "healthy" breakfast on the table. I must say it was very romantic/thoughtful/sweet of him. After work we went out to dinner.

Missing the Country

We really needed to get out of the city this weekend, so we took Ruthie and went to an equestrian center and a state park. Ruthie loved the horses! When we got home I brought out her little horsies and she ran around our apartment "neighing" (we taught her how to neigh, although it sounds more like a helicopter). Afterward, we went fishing at a state park south of Dallas. We figured Ruthie needed to get used to the water and being outdoors, so we let her wade in the lake. Eventually she just sat down and played with the rocks underneath her. She was pretty muddy, wet and dirty after that! When we began to leave she kept signing "please" to us, so we figured she wanted to go back to the water. Finally we made her say goodbye to the water by waving...she then understood it was really time to leave :)

Ruthie's New Feats

The newest feats of Baby Ruthie Fox:

She learned to sign "please" the other day, now we are working on thank you...a tougher project

She rocks her baby to sleep (aka suffocating the doll at the same time as swaying back and forth)

She kicks her soccer ball around a good part of the day...we'll transistion to basketball later

She finally can say "mom," in a babbling sort of way

She enjoys belts (as picture confirms) and she just got her "big girl" tennis shoes

Randomness Pictures

The other day Brad and I found Ruthie on top of this toy all by herself. Guess I'll have to watch her more closely since she's already climbing things (sidenote: we made her reenact it for a picture). She also discovered her first fly which Brad killed shortly after pictures were taken. She laughed/smiled when she saw it fly around. That same night we built her a fort to play in. The last picture is Maddie at 16 weeks pregnant. We are excited for Baby Fox to come!
