Sledding Joys ~

When we went sledding the other day Ruthie fell off and landed facedown in the snow...she was a bit upset until I showed her that falling forwards in the snow is fun. She proceeded in copying me and got over her frustration with being cold and wet pretty fast. :) As you can see in the above pictures I did teach her something taboo...to eat snow. Yes, this might appear yucky but the area of snow we were in was quite clean ;)

Best Friends ~

Ruthie has two babies and their names are Goldilocks and John Jacob...very original :)

Naomi enjoys clapping, giving high fives to everyone and waving goodbye. Right now Ruthie's teaching her to say please in sign language.

Our girls like to clean: Naomi is starting to participate in the daily cleaning up time after they are done playing. With Ruthie I took the intiative to clean up their toys early (I just couldn't help myself) and afterward when it was the usual time Ruthie pouted and said, "I want to clean up!" So we made a mess again and she cleaned it all up.

One morning we woke up to Nae covered in toys in her pack n' play. Apparently Ruthie kept giving her toys until the whole toy box ended up with Nae in her bed. Naomi was covered with toys but happily playing which meant we got better rest that morning :)

I was kinda "blah" one day and venting to Brad about it...Ruthie was with us and began singing, "Turn turn from sin and doubting, look to God on high!" I was humbled.

Binky Buddies ~

Your first thoughts might be, "Gross, that dog's got Naomi's binky!" But it's all under control...Huli (grandparent's dog) stole Nae's binky yesterday and was prancing around as pictured above. It was too cute to not take a picture. It worked out conveniently for us because we had just bought Nae a new binky for Christmas so she graciously gave up her used binky to her buddy.

Snowy Christmas 2009 ~

We spent Christmas this year mostly inside, besides the dare I took by going outside and doing a snow angel. Jeff (Brad's brother) also did in only his shorts so I guess he won the dare. :) It's pretty cold here and the snow is high in some places...we heard there are six foot drifts along the highway! Church is cancelled for tomorrow due to the cold weather and snow too. It was a nice Christmas and we spent it this year with the Fox side. It was nice celebrating the Lord's birth with our family. I'm thinking upon God's holiness and it's refreshing to celebrate Jesus' birth and remember He came to earth holy and righteous.

Baking Sugar Cookies ~

Ruthie, Cheryl and I made sugar cookies the other day. As you can see by Ruthie's face she liked tasting the frosting and sprinkles. Also, Ruthie wanted to try out her new snowpants so she and Grandma went for a walk, then went swinging. Apparently Ruthie didn't want to come in but it was getting too cold being out that long.

Want More Happy Birthday ~

A few comments made by Ruthie throughout the past few days following my birthday [FYI: the phrase "happy birthday" equates to "cake" in Ruthie's mind in most of these comments].
I want more happy birthday!
When can we eat happy birthday?
I like your happy birthday jacket, Mommy (Brad bought me a lovely jacket for my birthday)!
Happy birthday is good.
Need candles on the happy birthday.
Nae Nae ate happy birthday!
