After a recent storm Brady and I finally headed up to the mountains for a day of powdery goodness. Of course we went to the cheapest place, Donner Ski Ranch, which is normally not too bad of a place to ski but with knee deep powder we ran into some problems...

It looked gorgeous on the ski lift but we couldn't help but notice the bodies strewn across the back side of the mountain. Like this guy...

The problem was, there was too much powder, the puny mountains at Donner wouldn't be steep enough and if we fell we might never make it out alive.

And we did fall. We'd be riding down and our boards would get buried in the snow and pull us under.

Brady and I were stuck at this spot for quite a while as we tried to dig ourselves out.

Then once we were up we just tried to stay that way until we got to the lift. We finally found some steeper runs (black diamonds at Donner are a joke) and that was pretty fun but next time we might just fork over a little more dough and go to a real mountain, or try skiing.
