Last week we found out on a sneak peak sonogram that we are going to have a baby BOY in January! ANOTHER BOY! I'm a boy mom! Me?! Girly girl ME?! Who would have thought?!? Can you tell I am still a little bit in shock? My mind immediately went to all of the boy moms I grew up with...my aunt Paula with two football boys, Mrs. Biddy- my mom's closest friend when I was growing up who had two hunting boys, Mrs. Skow, Mrs. Anderson, etc. Drew didn't help anything when on the way home from the sonogram he was telling me really comforting things like...our bathrooms will never be the same again, no need moving to a bigger house because boys can just share a room, and how I am going to need to brush up on my sports knowledge if I'm going to be having 2 boys! SHOCK!!!
Ultimately, I do feel an overwhelming sense of God's peace just like I had been praying for if this were the case. After all, I definitely trust God's plans for our family above my silly ideas of what I think would be the best. I am excited to see Grayson as a big brother and to enjoy watching my boys play together. I know Drew is happy, so I am happy. As my grandmother pointed out to me on a phone call telling her the news, having another boy is very economical. :) We already have all the boy baby stuff, toys, clothes, etc. My grandad who is very economical minded would approve, she said. Haha!
So, no more ideas of grandeur including pink and sewing cute girly outfits for my baby...I'll just have to live vicariously through my niece (due in September) Madeline and all my Branch nieces. I'll be that crazy lady at every girl baby shower giving all the things I think are so cute to the mother-to-be. Time to buck up and think of the next cutest thing to make for my boy like the tie onesies I used to make for Grayson. I think this boy will be a bow tie and suspenders boy...maybe I'll try my hand at making one of those cute cardigan onesies I've seen on Pinterest! I'll start getting myself ready to be outside 24/7, going to sporting events galore, and buying/making a LOT of food!
Oh boy!
