It's a...

BOY!
Last week we found out on a sneak peak sonogram that we are going to have a baby BOY in January! ANOTHER BOY! I'm a boy mom! Me?! Girly girl ME?! Who would have thought?!? Can you tell I am still a little bit in shock? My mind immediately went to all of the boy moms I grew up with...my aunt Paula with two football boys, Mrs. Biddy- my mom's closest friend when I was growing up who had two hunting boys, Mrs. Skow, Mrs. Anderson, etc. Drew didn't help anything when on the way home from the sonogram he was telling me really comforting things like...our bathrooms will never be the same again, no need moving to a bigger house because boys can just share a room, and how I am going to need to brush up on my sports knowledge if I'm going to be having 2 boys! SHOCK!!!

Ultimately, I do feel an overwhelming sense of God's peace just like I had been praying for if this were the case. After all, I definitely trust God's plans for our family above my silly ideas of what I think would be the best. I am excited to see Grayson as a big brother and to enjoy watching my boys play together. I know Drew is happy, so I am happy. As my grandmother pointed out to me on a phone call telling her the news, having another boy is very economical. :) We already have all the boy baby stuff, toys, clothes, etc. My grandad who is very economical minded would approve, she said. Haha!

So, no more ideas of grandeur including pink and sewing cute girly outfits for my baby...I'll just have to live vicariously through my niece (due in September) Madeline and all my Branch nieces. I'll be that crazy lady at every girl baby shower giving all the things I think are so cute to the mother-to-be. Time to buck up and think of the next cutest thing to make for my boy like the tie onesies I used to make for Grayson. I think this boy will be a bow tie and suspenders boy...maybe I'll try my hand at making one of those cute cardigan onesies I've seen on Pinterest! I'll start getting myself ready to be outside 24/7, going to sporting events galore, and buying/making a LOT of food!

Oh boy!

We're Pregnant With #2!

If you haven't heard the good news...We're pregnant! We are so excited about this sweet "new baby," as we've been calling him/her in our prayers. We can't wait to see Grayson as an older brother and are thrilled to be blessed in growing our family of 3 to 4!

Our first doctor's appointment went well and the baby measured right on time at 7 weeks, putting our due date at January 30th, 2014. This time, I am using a new Obgyn and loving him already- Dr. White. I will be delivering at a different hospital as well- Baylor Grapevine...much newer, nicer, and bigger than the hospital we delivered Grayson in. Since I have toddler-sized babies (remember...Grayson came out weighing 10 lbs. 9 oz. and didn't even fit into a newborn size diaper!), Dr. White said we will plan on delivering the "new baby" a week early. Hey! I remember how miserable I was feeling in those last few days and week of being pregnant last time...the earlier (within reason of course!) the better!! So I guess we'll expect to meet the "new baby" around Jan. 23rdish.

So many things are different this pregnancy so far. For one, I have felt nauseous a lot more often. Nothing to even complain about- I just have to keep crackers nearby and eat regularly to keep it at bay. Second, I for some reason am dying to have a girl this time! Every time I make something for Trey and Katie's baby, Madeline, or look at Pinterest and see cute girl nursery themes I just can't help pining for a GIRL! Don't get me wrong, I'll of course be super happy for another sweet baby boy- Grayson would have a brother, I could use all of Grayson's cute clothes, boys are in general easier than girls (at least to dress!), etc. But, I am realizing more and more that my heart desires a girl this time. Let's just say that if this "new baby" is a boy, I'll be doing my best to twist Drew's arm into having a 3rd (and watch me end up with 3 boys!)! Ultimately, though, I really do trust in God's plan for this "new baby," for our family, and for my heart. I will be blessed beyond measure with a healthy baby, no matter what "new baby's" gender.

And now, recent Grayson pics...
Grayson being Grayson...wanting to play his harmonica and wear two different right foot shoes first thing in the morning!
He insists on wearing his sunglasses like this.
Grayson loves him some "pop"...this bag of kettle corn from the Haslet Farmer's Market was as big as he is but he wanted to hold it anyway.
Confession: Bad Mom Moment. Usually when Grayson wants to try some of my soda , I just let him try it rather than fight with him about it because so far every time he gets this disgusted look on his face after one sip (doesn't like the carbonation) and I don't have to worry about him mooching any more of my drink after that. Well, this one time, at Target, he wanted a sip of my Starbucks Frappuccino and...he loved it. :(

What's Going On?!

This week, Grayson and I went to the FW Zoo. As usual, we had lots of fun seeing all of the animals together!
Grayson's new favorite food is waffles...or syrup! This time, he may have touched his hair when he had syrup on his hands...what do you think?! ;)
He loves playing outside and Drew showed him how to use the spray attachment on the water hose.
After he played with the water, he was soaked and we had to strip him down. He for some reason still wanted his shoes on. Here he is riding around the house on his motorcycle, with his puppy, and only a diaper and shoes on his body. Love it!
Grayson LOVES his Dad! Isn't his sweet hand on Drew just precious?!
When he gets hurt (or likes to pretend he is hurt) he wants his "Tiger." It's a soft ice pack my Mom got him for injuries. We are cuddling after he got hurt, but it must not have been a terrible hurt considering the ice pack is just resting on his jeans. :)

And take a trip to Ikea to get a new toddler size table for arts and crafts as well as snack time!

Grayson loves...

the Bible! What a precious precious thing it is when you see the beginning of the love of God in your child. I really don't think there is anything better. Grayson's favorite book lately has become The Bible and he is often found carrying it around the house with him. He likes flipping through the pages and looking at the pictures. Sometimes Drew and I look at it with him while he flips and give a very brief description of what is on that page (brief, people- this IS a toddler we are talking about and his attention span is about the length of a millisecond at this point). What can be sweeter than seeing your sweet boy reading the Bible? Seeing him read the Bible in just a diaper. Enjoy! (I know I will.)

Yeehaw!

This weekend we continued our new tradition of going to our small town's Haslet Wild West Fest. This was our 3rd year to go and each year it seems to get bigger and bigger. We enjoyed how family friendly it was this year with everything from mechanical bull rides to train rides- they had it all! We met up with Kacie and Ross Whigham and their precious boy, Carson. See y'all next year??!!
Sweet boy wants to be like Dad all the time- even with his baseball cap.
We immediately saw the sheriff's horse as soon as we got out of our car.
She was super nice and let Grayson pet the horse.
Grayson's favorite thing during this whole excursion was marveling at the display Jeep's tires...no lie!
The boys had fun being silly together. This is the best shot we got of the two of them together...boys!
Carson was so cute riding on the Lil Buckaroos Train.
 There he goes!
Grayson and Drew showed off their hula-hooping skills.
Me and Grayson enjoyed the swing.
 Lots of vendors this year!
Grayson loved playing on the park playground. And, yes...I am wearing my boots!!
He loved the caterpillar bouncy seat.
I love this picture because it shows the boys swinging together but also because it shows Kacie's ADORABLE baby bump! Can't wait to meet the new little guy soon!

Cousins Birthday Party

We went to Houston for Nathan and Aubrey's Birthday Party Weekend!
Zip and DiDi are the coolest grandparents because they took Nathan to the pet store on Saturday morning to pick out his own gerbil and all the cage supplies needed.
Setting it up was an event of it's own.
Nathan made sure his gerbil had a very good home by overseeing the putting together of the cage.
Once Aubrey and Nathan's other family members arrived, the kids started off the party by spraying silly string at each other.
Sweet baby Emma took it all in.
I was happy with my Cinnamon Dolce Latte from Starbucks!
Sam had the cutest games for the kids to play and they even got to win prizes and put them in their bags.
Notice Aubrey's tongue...
And Jared's tongue...wonder where Aubrey gets that from! ;) Jared hung the pinata.
Isn't Lexi precious?! Pretty girl.
Brothers with the birthday pinata.
Kellye (and Josh and Asher) was very missed but still joined in on the birthday fun via Facetime.
Grayson loved riding around the yard in their red wagon while the girls made lots of bubbles for him with the bubble guns DiDi got the grandkids.
Aubrey's pink guitar was a big hit too!

What a fun birthday/family weekend!!
